Scabby Dug reacted to stripey in Cheesey - Offered A Deal At.....
Cannot agree with you, I think its a forward move and I and many others wish Cheesy all the best. He, as a St.Mirren player left the club in dubious circumstances but the amount of criticism he received on this site did not in anyway convince him to stay and whilst I would agree everyone is entitled to their opinion there was no need to call him a pr**k or put some of last seasons performances solely down to him, when in some games a the majority of players for us were poor too say the least

Offered a deal at Oldham Athletic. All the best to the St. Mirren legend. Great level of football in England to test himself at.

shull a tenner is prob 1 tip a day for you ,you rant on here everyday about people getting behind the team then refuse to pay a tenner to go and watch your supposedly favourite team that you have watched for many years ,well the free games anyway ,now if it was 45 quid I would be liking your post but for f**k sake a tenner is what you find rolled up in the back of your cab, support is for ever not just for free

Scabby Dug reacted to class of 76-77 in Pre Season Friendlies
Big Shaun Rooney having some game time tonight. He's determined to impress along with the other 4 trialists.
He's loving his trial period at Ralston and can't speak highly enough of the training methods and coaching staff.

Scabby Dug reacted to FTOF in Deserved Testimonial Match At Cappielow
His mother and father used to own the Royal George Hotel in Millport.
I worked there as a barman in the summer of 1986, between my 3rd and 4th year of uni, as I spent a lot of time at the Marine station, who kindly allowed me to rent a flat for the duration of my employment.
Used to work all day , then transfer to the other side of the bar at 6.30 p.m.
Took me about 3 months to dry out.
Used to have some "fun" discussions about the Saints/soapdodgers rivalry, with Andy, who was effectively my boss.
Nice to see such long service to a football club being rewarded.

Scabby Dug reacted to Ditto in Kieran Sadlier Leaves (Updated Title)
Spot on Insaintee, nothing to do with money.
Very good standard of football, good budget with the aim of being in the Championship next year & only a 25 minute journey from where he lives.
Had several options, including hooking up with Teddy Sherringham at Stevenage but then Jack Collison recommended him to Peterborough.
Been with them for two weeks and impressed, scored 4 goals in two internal friendlies and gave a good performance in the friendly on Wednesday night - ironically plays against his old club West Ham United on Saturday then one of a squad of 22 travelling to Ireland for pre season tour.

Scabby Dug reacted to rea in New Kit Spoiler Alert
Because you can order in the store as well as online e the JD system assigns a level of stock to both.
When the online system receives orders and reduces the online stock level by the amount ordered their system does not automatically make available the shop stock.
It waits until a refresh (I think overnight) when a new batch of stock is assigned to online.
It is a difficulty associated with bricks and mortar online and telephone ordering.
If you see no stock online give the phone number or local store a ring....
....in any event though. ..it ain't my fault

Scabby Dug reacted to DougJamie in So Farewell Greece
The Greeks never wanted into the Euro in the first place. They have a very high opinion of themselves and still think they have an empire, reminds me of a country south of here!!! England and Greece have a lot in common
So its bad news for everyone. We have IS in Turkey, we have Turkey wanting in and Greece out. And we have very right wing Tories ( about 320) wanting us to bomb IS.
Also UKIP will grow or the Tories will go further right to capture the vote.
Of course Stuat Dicko will blame all this at the SNPs feet. Seriously its a lose lose situation, sooner we get shot of the silver cross pram pushing Royal up the rssses/ trident Londoners the sooner we can start to look forward to true democracy.

Why would Murray need a look at him first?
He's played at this level under him 28 times and scored 15 goals...

Scabby Dug reacted to stripey in Signings
You are correct injury was a major problem for David, however prior to this David was advised by his agent that he was a player that would have no problem getting an English Championship side to sign him. The allure of playing for an English Championship team turned Davids head, that and his agent also convincing him he was better than he was. This was followed by spells of him playing in the 1st team for saints and then being out for the next game, till eventually he lost fitness and the confidence to play for us and unfortunately a few injuries later put paid to him playing for us again.

Scabby Dug reacted to stripey in Signings
I really hope that David passes the trial period with us and is resigned, in particular if he shows the form he managed to display prior too him listening to some misguided agent that managed to convince him he would have no bother in getting a club in the English Championship. With the player in the right frame of mind and his fitness levels being what Ian Murray wants, I would predict that he would be a success for us, mind you I also predicted that Gregg Wylde would be an outstanding success for us last season.

Scabby Dug reacted to nedflanders123 in Cheesy's Away.
Marc was by no means the worse player I have seen in the black and white stripes. Whatever his shortcomings he gave 100% and will be remembered as a member of the 2013 cup winning side. Nice lad and I wish him all the best. He has left the club so I see no point in those continuing to criticise him.

Scabby Dug reacted to Ayrshireman in Free'd Killie Youngster ?
Dylan Pooler was released just before the end of the season, he started 18 games scored 14 goals was the top scorer for the U20's. He can play anywhere upfront or as a number 10. He has played numerous times for Scotland at U15/16/17, he was also on the bench for the 1st team last season.
Last season he missed a lot of games due to him making way for older players trying to get fit ie Paul Cairney, Lee Miller, N'goo, was playing very well when released, nearly all Killie fans I have spoken to were shocked as I was when he was released.
I have heard this too from a very reliable source ie him coming to Saints

Scabby Dug reacted to dakota7 in Gow Signs
If his attitude is right and he is fit Gow will be a good signing. He will get goals from midfield and create chances.

Scabby Dug reacted to Mr Zo in Thomas Reilly
I think Thomas could do reasonably well for us next season and wouldn't mind seeing him given another season.
Good luck Thomas!:-)

Scabby Dug reacted to Isle Of Bute Saint in Speculation Thread
Just my view , for me Ridgers is a good goalie would have pitted any goalie with our defence last season. Ridgers is a goalie not some new Russian defence system

Scabby Dug reacted to TopCat in Richard Brittain
So a guy who is settled in the highlands and clearly doesn't want to move from there - as him turning down St Johnstone showed - signs for another highland club.
Fans of us then say this shows we can't compete with highland league clubs.
Couldn't make it up

Scabby Dug reacted to Dalrybud in Gregg Wylde , Good News !
Sufficient to wish Gregg all the best for the future and move on. Simply no need for some of these ridiculous comments. Unfortunately, it appears to be a trait on this forum.

Scabby Dug reacted to stripey in David Longwell
And here was me thinking as St.Mirren fans we should be praising our young players, especially those brought through by the extremely hard working David Longwell. Perhaps we as St.Mirren fans should take a good long hard look at ourselves, myself included before typing some ill-informed comments. David Longwell should be kept at St.Mirren if possible, and to the young players I know you were placed into a dire situation but do not lose heart stay with the club and success will come.
