Expect some form of statement from the club today. Probably little point in speculating further until there is a bit more clarity.
 

Given that Gordon Scott has been in contact with Jack Ross this week whilst Jack's been away and given that they have a good working relationship, I'd be very surprised indeed if Gordon has released such a statement without Jack's prior knowledge and more importantly, consent.
I think and hope GLS is far too shrewd to potentially have an unrest on his hands. That's why I can see this having been done with JR's blessing to do so.

If Stelios gets more favs does that make him our new manager?

I agree with what Div and others have said above. Dundee is in the Premiership but have significant problems (stadium and squad) which don't make it an attractive club for Jack at the moment.
At Buddies, with the players continuing from last year plus those he's brought in recently, he already has the core of a squad ready for next season and excellent playing and training facilities. He knows that if he gets his head down, works hard with the squad and achieves either promotion or a high finish next May, he could be looking at something much more interesting than a move to a struggling club like Dundee.

I don't think Jack is ready to jump ship. In my opinion, he see's St Mirren as a long term project, with the goal of a return to the top flight and a top 6 finisher. I am pretty sure he would not get anymore satisfaction achieving that with any other club.
I do believe he has a very bright future ahead of him in management and his post St Mirren management career would see him managing an English team at a decent level.

There is no buy-out clause in Jack's contract, which has two years to run.
That in itself would appear to rule Dundee out of going any further than an initial enquiry in my opinion.
The Dundee fans seem to be giving it billy big baws on social media but the reality is that Dundee (last season turnover £4m) are not much bigger than us (our turnover in the Premiership was £3m).
They do not have an established training complex, they have two very old stands in an otherwise impressive enough stadium, that are both costing them a fortune to maintain, and that is contributing to dismal financial performance (a loss of £500K in last accounts).
Their youth system has produced nothing of note that I can remember.
Throw in the fact that they haven't won a major honour since 1973 and I can't really see much justification for their attitude.
They currently play in a better league than us and currently get more fans through the door and that's about all they have to offer.
We have plenty of potential to grow our average attendance, and our infrastructure is one of the best in the country.
Use this as an opportunity to reward. Give Jack a new contract in Paisley and let him continue to develop what he's started.

What a lot of wet panties on this thread. What is the lure of Dundee? A premier league club that avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth with the same prospect for next season. What is JR going to achieve there? - sod all. He stays with us he gets a chance to actually win something (which there is no hope at Dundee) and raises his profile significantly maybe interesting a big club. Dundee are not a big club and he would be wasting a great opportunity by going there. It ain't going to happen.

He will also (hopefully) feel a sense of responsibility having persuaded several players to sign up/stay on/extend their contracts.
We're not naive enough to think that any loyalty JR has to the club would outweigh the lure of a big move, but the Dundee managers job could not be described as such despite our respective positions at present.
We need to put this to bed soon, though, as we still have business to conclude and could do without anything stalling or distracting from this.
 
 

Jack Ross has started something here and I am convinced in his commitment to taking St mirren on a journey.

If he managed to transform us and saw us mount a serious challenge then at the end of next season he might, just might, look at his options. I think he likes us, the team he has and is looking forward to developing St mirren Fc and putting the smile back on this football club.

I don't think a spammy Dundee is of interest.

Unfortunately for us we have a manager who without winning hee haw has already impressed a lot of people in the game, despite his relatively young managerial career.

If you listen to Jack's interview on Sportsound a few weeks ago, he ran through his process of taking the St. Mirren job from Alloa. 
It's genuinely about more than money for Jack and I believe that. He's very conscious of the club he left and the club he was joining when he came here and that was part of his decision process. What he's said about the club and not going anywhere until the club is where they belong, I genuinely believe the guy. 

We really don't need this shite - speculation or not - just when we have a bit of momentum and things are looking positive.
I hope Jack blows it out the water, and soon.

I personally have no problem with any of Jacks signings , he's done more than enough to gain our trust in these matters.

I got a new card in the post this week for my boy. Was needed due to some admin mess up. But clearly the card machine done it's job!

Unforgotten man a bit, but no in any bad way... think a lot of it is just because Jack was here before. We seem to have a great wee bunch of staff and team of players that want to play for them...it's all guid

This is hugely exciting something special is being built at our club under the stewardship of a special manager. Reading our assistant manager update was really pleasing on how important it is to have our under 20 coach involved with the first team. I'm buzzing with all the building blocks Jack Ross has implemented have seen nothing like it before. Mr Ross will go far in the game you only have to listen to players who have played under him.
