Looks like Mehmet has turned into some player since he left us.
I certainly don't remember him doing anything to prompt quite such a response as this.
I know, as when he played for us I actually still went to all our games and gave a feck.
Or maybe this is how far we've sunk that we're getting excited about the potential return of a guy who was almost good a few years back.

Tactics are bad. But it comes down to the players not been good enough or interested enough.
I've never seen such a reluctant and unfit group of players.

Yeah I was sitting next to them, and he was properly seething.
Mallan's older sister is lovely though.

I genuinely feel for the guy. He was subjected to a volley of vicious bile this afternoon as he trudged off the pitch looking like a broken man, and it wasn't nice to witness.
The guy is young, has a family, and a living to make. He didn't set out to f**k this up, it just didn't work out.
Thanks for doing your best, Ian. It wasn't good enough, but I wish you no ill, and hope you can move on from this.

There's no such thing as playing football in the correct manner.
Wins are what actually matter, and aesthetics are a nice bonus. Lennon and Murray both are in the same ship when it comes to not being successful.

The mists of time seem to cloud the memories. Yes we had a couple of very special days at Hampden with Danny in 2013 but in actual fact the league campaign that season was an utter shambles and what happened the following season was even worse. That is why Danny was let go.
Let's look at some cold hard facts here.
The fact is that from Jan 1st 2013 to the end of the cup winning season we actually won 3 league games out of SEVENTEEN.
Danny's transfer dealings in the summer were an absolute shambles and we started the next season without a win in our opening 8 games (7 league).
That meant from 1st Jan 2013 to 5th Oct 2013 we won 3 league games out of TWENTY-FOUR.
In season 2013-2014 we also left both cups in the 1st round, and we went on a run where we lost 8 out of 9 games in the middle of the season.
Yes we won a cup under Danny, and it was very very special and he'll always be fondly remembered for that but he actually STARTED the rot.
Any notion of bringing him back is frankly absurd. IMO.

Carswell was one of our better players. He done what he was supposed to do, break up play, and recycle possession
The fact that our team, can't turn up after going ahead is what kills us. Time and time again we end up trying to defend the edge of our box, when we quite clearly can't.

I said where I was to explain why I wasn't at the game, and why, unlike the past, I am not that bothered about other things clashing with Saints games.
Why the aggressive post, you rude cnut.

I'd be more forgiving if it looked like we were trying to settle into a style of football. But passing the ball side to side and doing f**k all doesn't count.
We gave a part time side respect. No one was willing to take a hold of that game.
Gutted I paid another £20 to watch that pish again

    I really don't like Goodwin.
But he's actually showed some value to this team and cut out all the petulant and daft fouls which have plagued his career with us

    Blaming the ref? Honestly?
We were 2-0 up. And we bottled it. The manager will carry the can but our players need to have a look at themselves. Calling them weak sauce is a disservice.
Thompson was always going to be booked he was acting like a newbie. No smarts, and a piss poor performance. All sentiment aside he shouldn't start against Raith.

Nope, he's just rubbish. 1 tackle a game or 1 of his launch pad style headers does not fill 90 minutes. I'm fully aware he's the Cup Winning Captain, but he can't be the first player to be living off of a tag such as that. Saturday was missing some output up front, it didn't need Jim either continually fouling in midfield due to not quite getting there or Jim losing his man in defence.
I can't recall every performance last season, but he cost us the Motherwell game first day, was nothing short of abysmal at Perth and I don't think there's a word to describe how poor he was against Motherwell at Fir Park.
He might, just might, come in and perform at this level. But, it won't be against one of the top teams and it won't be consistency.
Now, if Jim is reading this (why) or one of his friends thinks telling him about this post will help his game (why?), all Jim needs to do is prove me wrong. It's always been that simple really, no good making one wee bread and butter tackle that David Lowing could put in then being dire for the 89 minutes around it.

I'm sorry, but the same Goodwin has failed to organise a defence or midfield since joining us. He's had his good games, but a blood and Thunder approach would not have helped us today.
Our problem was sitting off Dumbarton with Agnew and Carswell occupying the same space in midfield, we had nothing in behind the strikers. Goodwin wouldn't have pushed out to bring play forward. We lost goals on fouls from players charging in, something Goodwin is renown for. We are crying out for a box to box midfielder in the mould of Steven Thomson. Someone to pick up the second ball in their half and pull the team forward.
Our defence has been chronic for seasons now, and our attack is starting to look as bad; the fact that three players that stated today at the back failed to keep a clean sheet in how many games last season start, and people wish to add another is beyond belief. Two shots on target is awful for any team.

I'm genuinely staggered by the Goodwin love-in on here.
He was terrible last season. Much of the time he looked lost, was frequently out of position, got roasted by even moderately paced players, and don't get me started on his aimlessly lofted balls to no-one in particular.
Goodwin's time has come and gone. He is not the answer. We need a tenacious Alex Neil type player. A bit of grit, but the composure to match it.

Goodwin would have not have improved this. Nor would he have stopped us conceding the goals we did.

lest we forget, Jim Goodwin suffered a "mystery injury" that stopped him being cup-tied and also left the team struggling just when his contract came up for renewal and Hibs were interested in him
I thank him for the small cluster of good performances he produced since then, they are looking increasingly lost in the past.
    he is not the answer

I'm not at all sure that Goodwin is the answer. I think we are clutching at straws. He was poor last season, and I don't know why people think he would be any better this term.
Likewise, I didn't think we looked significantly better after Thompson came on. He replaced Gow, so was an improvement, yes, but did he really contribute a great deal.
I would say that Morgan finding a bit of form made a difference in the second half. At times he had three defenders on him, yet we failed to exploit the space this created. More urgency is required. Would Goodwin and Thompson provide that. I think both are/would be coasting at best.
We need someone in the middle who can put their foot on the ball and make a telling pass. Sorry, but for me, that ain't Jim Goodwin.

No it wasn't, only player bullied was Morgan. We sat back, which is how Murray does things. Goodwin would not have done better than our central square and doesn't fit in anywhere else. I thought Gow was the wrong choice, I'd have preferred Mallan in with Morgan and McMullan supporting Gallagher.

What would have Goodwin brought to today's performance? We certainly didn't lack a defensive presence, we lacked a half decent attacking player.
We lost to two set piece goals, one from a deflection, one from a penalty. Our midfield has no cutting edge, and our attack is powder puff. Two shots on target against a part time team is shocking. For once our defence weren't to blame, apart from the chances Kelly and Naismith passed up in the first half.

Sounds like a plan. Use all 3 defenders at the club and hope Goodwin moves on elsewhere.
