OK, I'll stick my head above the parapet and expect to attract some bullets.
This season we have Rangers, Hearts and Hibs in a lower division. By my reckoning there are maybe only 6 sides in our division with larger average fanbases, Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, Dundee, Motherwell and Killie. Also we have, as far as I understand, next to zero debt and a marvellous training facility. Maybe even a terrific crop of youngsters in there as well due to our club's commitment to youth development.
So I think it is a no-brainer that St Mirren's fans ought to expect the team to finish higher in the league than Partick, Hamilton, St Johnstone, ICT and Ross County. Yet for some reason there are a bunch of Happy Clappers content if we avoid relegation, even if do we finish below ICT, Ross County, etc. Fans have a right to feel short-changed when we look at the league table and see these teams above us.
I understand we are not a 'big' club but every season seems to bring along too many disappointing defeats to 'inferior' opposition, too many no-shows on the park, too many games with negative tactics, and too many miserable Saturday evenings. Mid-table is where I believe we ought to be this season and I'll be happy with that.

Driverless cars could be a major step towards better road safety. Anything that might deter 85+ year olds and mothers with kids in child seats from driving will make the roads safer for all other users.

You mate are out of order. No matter Mark's limitations, he gives 100% and loves the club. The lad is injured and we should support any injured player and not, as you are doing, firing cheap shots and coming over as a bitter and sad person. Your vitriole will not lead to TC getting rid of Cheesy. In fact, I will leave the judgement of how good Cheesy is to the manager who I am sure is a better judge. If you want to see a class centre half or central defender then go to the Etihad instead.

The John Barrowman / Karen Dunbar effort was 100% cringeworthy. Not their fault, they were working with the material given to them and sows ears don't make silk purses.
Rod Stewart (as always IMO) utterly stunk the place out - quite an achievement given the venue and the stink normally created there. And Subo, oh dear me, give it a rest. Agree with earlier posts that Amy McDonald and Calvin Harris performed a decent rescue act on a show that had been plummeting rapidly into torture.
One quick introduction required - Gordon, this is a microphone.

Truly heartbreaking. Didn't know the lads personally but recognize both from my travels. One of the lads is massively famous down here and i believe only missed one 1st team game in 50 years, when his mother died. Part of an away trip was spotting him on the day. He was distinctive as he wore a black suit and white shirt for every nufc game and was affectionately known as 'the undertaker'. The other lad was just as keen and only 28 years old. Tragic that so many innocents lost their lives in such horrific circumstances.
I intend on adding to the shrine at St James Park soon and will lay a saints scarf along with a Newcastle shirt.

Two of the victims were lifelong Newcastle United fans travelling 1/2 way across the world to support their club kn apre-season friendly. I can think of umpteen St Mirren fans who, given the opportunity, would show exactly the same commitment to watch our team. I can understand and empathise with the NUFC fans who have set up an unofficial shrine to these two popular lads outside St James's Park. I hope someone within our club has sent a message of condolence to this club with whom we have recently built up a close relationship.

Last night was a terrific result for football in general, destroying the Brazilian myth. Wasn't it wonderful to see David Luiz finally realise that he is a big diddy not a mega-star ? Chelsea got lucky offloading that turkey just before the WC began.
Also a great result for Spain, Portugal and England as it draws focus away from their humiliations during the tournament.
