Just a wee question for those always having a pop at our youth players. Who do you think had the better game; McMullan (Celtic superstar on load) or Morgan?
Not only did Morgan offer something going forward on but on one occasion he lost the ball on the touchline. He then chased Barr down right across the pitch to the other touchline and managed to get a tackle in. (admittedly a foul); But I don't think you would ever have got that kind of effort and dig from McMullan.

Thank you for posting the link.Alex Rae has at least restored some pride in the home performances as he promised to address upon his appointment.
He did pre-warn us that it won't always be pretty but we have to stop losing at home before we can start winning at home.
Alex Rae & the team have delivered the goods as promised.
Shankland & Mallan have been superb in their individual goal tallies despite not always having the best of games. It bodes well if they both could find more consistency in their games for whoever they end up playing for ( hopefully us next season )
It's been a poor start but a decent finish which should provide us with real hope & optimism for next season.
I for one believe we 'could' win the league next year with Rae at the helm and that's before we know what the transfer window holds.

I can't get too upset about what the players post on Twitter.
By way of a positive contrast, however, Alex Rae posted a thank you to St Mirren supporters for being the '12th man' yesterday. A nice (and astute) touch from our gaffer that will go some way towards enhancing his growing reputation amongst the St Mirren support.

Unfortunately I can't disagree that St. Mirren strolled the midfield battle today. In large part this is because Duffy went with an uncreative and unbalanced midfield to try to shitfest the game, and failed. I'm quite sure Rae wasn't worried about how much possession we had because what were we going to do with it, lining up as we did?
If you do finish above us it'll be deserved in the end, largely due to these head to head results. Rae has is completely figured out and also your players - Naismith especially, a guy I really wish we'd kept - were more up for it.
Hate to say it but that was an admirable performance from St. Mirren. I felt the first game between the teams this season, you were too physical and generally poor and lucky to get away with the draw. But this time around it was men against boys.

Jason Naismith. Absolutely bloody knackered but he kept going. Broke forward late on too. Great effort, well played son.

    Enjoyed that.
We deserved to win, as we were the better team on the day. Only when we sat off them, did they threaten.
Goals all well taken, and, refreshingly, the players really seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Shankland gets my MotM. I thought Cooper played well, and Gallagher had a decent game. Langfield didn't have too much to do, and some credit for that must go to the defence.
We look far more organised than under Murray, and there is, crucially, a much better spirit about the place.
    Aye, that was thoroughly enjoyable.

Must say I'm surprised at how low-key the build-up to this meeting has been, especially with so much at stake. Not a single post on this page for almost a fortnight, no debate on the rights and wrongs of fan ownership, nothing (that I've seen) in the media talking about it.
Bit worried that if this is a sign of the apathy before fan ownership is even discussed what chance does it have of becoming a reality?

A massive big thank you to the Saints fans who reunited me with my wallet after the under 20's game last night. Who said a fool and his money are easily parted? Thanks also to Stevie and Max at the stadium for putting up with an auld fud rummaging round the stand with tears in his eyes at 9:30 at night.

Just in from the game, though we played out a decent performance in what was at times a scrappy game.
The defence has improved which is echoed by Webster constantly talking baird throughout the whole game,
both, were for me excellent as were Watson and Irvine.
rocco had a decent game in the middle but stevie mallan why over indulge wee lad, do the simple things!
great to see more energy and determination and a bit of fight from us something that has been lacking under murray.
thought we actually had a few decent penalty claims and either team could have won it.
At the end it was end to end stuff.
overall happy enough with a point.

i agree, i thought Goodwin and rocco in the same team could have worked tonight but theres no doubt in mallans goal threat
so, he is hard to leave out/sub
i actually think shankland was doing ok but was on the wrong end of the referee's decisions and when he was yellow carded his head wasn't in it it seemed.
    interesting next few matches ahead...

I thought it was a decent game. Baird recovery after being caught out position was superb but the best St Mirren moment in the game was Watson covering tackle when Baird slipped. Its been a very long time since I've seen a St Mirren full back do that much to cover. Brilliant stuff.
Best Saints chance fell to Mallen in the first half. All he had to do was get it on target and he ballooned it.

    Agree about the defence.
Was lovely to see that after one really excellent recovery and intervention from young Baird against cheating wee shite Baird, three senior players quickly came over and praised him! TEAM SPIRIT! When did we last see it plainly evidenced like that.
Defensively, Irvine was ok... but I was really disappointed with his distribution throughout the match. He needs to up his game to make the shirt his own IMO.
Quinn did a power of work, but is the kind of player it is far too easy to undervalue and miss the contribution of. He ended up covering for Mallan who had one of those games. I would actually have hooked Mallan after an hour and brought Goodwin on, as a Goodie/Quin midfield would have stood up to and nullified the bullying tactics of the cheating Bairns!
I'd also have replaced Shankland with Thommo after an hour as it just wasn't happening for Shanks.
For all my minor gripes, I would have taken a point beforehand and was happy with the way we battled as a team.
    Onwards and upwards.
    The Raevolution continues!
