There but for the grace of god...
before celebrating what may or may not happen to the Ton, lets see how our finances sit after a full season in the Premiership.

County have been taking the piss for a few years now. I'm sure it was fun while it lasted but they belong in the Championship.
As for the Ton, I think most of their fans are decent folk and I'll feel bad for them.
Makes you realise how lucky we got with the Tesco deal. Timing was probably perfect, tbh.

I would hate to see any club go under. But it's about time all Scottish clubs lived with in their means. Clubs like Hamilton. St.Johnstone and Ross County have chairmen signing cheques for their losses at the of the season. Now Roy McGregor at County is not prepared to do it anymore. Said in a interview recently the club will have to stand on its own. Hence the reason it's bottom of the league and Coyle walked out. Mid week match between Acvies and County recently had a crowd of 768. Hardly enough to pay the stewards. Time for Scottish football to wake up.

We have recently heard of Utd's financial plight and the fact they are over £1m in debt with worse to come, but I was surprised to see Ton's accounts showing that they in fact are £1.9m in debt, with Rae covering the rising interest payments each season.
I just wonder how long we will have our neighbours.
Crowds at Capplielow have plummeted this year, down 15% year on year, since 2005. The ground, as we all know, needs so much work its almost financially unfeasible to repair. The ground's location is hardly prime , be a car lot for Arnold Clark at best. And when the old boy finally goes, its the Easton's waiting in the wings- Oh joy.............

I know a big thing was made of the Tic Cup tie as only 18k trapped meaning a relatively small cheque for a plum draw
So lets spare a wee thought for Morton, they will miss us, in more ways than games................. their future is far from certain. As much as I cannae stand the bstards I would hate to see them go under

I suppose it's all about opinions.
I disagree that we changed it in the second half. We scored within a couple of minutes into the second half. That meant that Dumbarton actually had to try and score. We didn't change our tactics, as our manager stated in his post match interview (but I suppose you know better ), we just got more space due to them not being able to sit in as much.
Of course we could have been better, but we were never poor at any point in the game.

Dont know about the poor 1st half for both teams. I though us and Dumbarton knocked the ball about pretty well considering the pitch was heavy and slippy. Could argue that apart from the final product we both had a decent 1st half.
Agree about Reilly, he seemed too desperate to turn and shoot on at least 3 occasions with his back to goal. Felt a bit sorry for Mullen. I hope he can get his first goal soon and get a bit of confidence. A few fans being a bit harsh on him when he lost the ball. Just never worked today for him. It will come.

ETA- i really enjoyed the game.

When you say better, how much better could we be?
We're clear at the top of the league, played, according to the vast majority, pretty well, finishing apart.
We've clearly steadied up in defence, a critical part of any teams success.
Scoring goals in almost every game.
Are we Real Madrid, naw, but then again, we don't have unlimited resources.

They were instructed to do this due to he mixup fiasco in the selling of tickets. Due to the fact that, and no one's admitting the blame, folk were buying adult tickets and being told to contact Dumbarton for their free kid's ticket. This meant the adult and kid would be seated in totally different places. The only way Dumbarton could try to solve this was to allow the flexibility. Not ideal but could you see another way?

We were well on top the whole game and played really well at points but a tad wasteful in front of goal. Could and possibly should have won by more as I felt Dumbarton were as poor a Dumbarton side as I have seen in a while. They offered very little and I felt we could have really hammered them today if we had put our mind to it.

That lad should have been off for that assault on the touchline on stelios. A red card every day of the week. I thought Stelios had a great game as did McGinn and McGennis.

I thought Jack Baird was immense again. He has been playing very well for the buds for the last few months and a bit of unsung hero. Everyone talks about the clean sheets kept since Davis came back but I think it is more to do with Bairds performance and the fact he is playing alongside a good player like Davis rather than Buchanan. Davis is great defender and we are lucky to have signed him but it is a tad frustrating how Baird doesn't quite get the recognition I feel his performances of late actually merit. I think Davis would have struggled alongside Buchanan in those first few months. Just my opinion.

Over 40 goals from Reilly, Smith and Morgan. Very Impressive stuff!

In my lifetime of watching the saints we have won the league in 1999/2000 and 2005/2006. In each of those season's we were run very close by other teams but it really does lool like this side could win this league by some distance. I know it sounds like I am getting ahead of myself but the bottom line is we are just so much better all over the park than every other team in this league.

    This side is going places.

Agreed. I couldn't believe some of the stick he was getting. He badly needs a goal for confidence I think.

That was a great performance today at a very tough ground on the worst playing surface I have seen for a while. I'm struggling to understand GC_SMFC points about the first half.Up until the the final 3rd we were miles ahead and never in any danger of losing that game.

A lot of people talking about the goals(and quite rightly) but I want to mention the cross from Stelios from the first, Absolutely perfect and a strikers dream. The 2nd was a terrific finish by easily the best player on the park for me in McGinn followed by a terrific celebration.
Lastly I want to mention the fun I had watching the 3 bitter rejects Walsh, Hutton and Carswell resort to kicking our players after chasing shadows for the majority, how Carswell wasn't sent off for his i'll never know.

Just watched the interview with Cammy Smith on Buddievision.
What a level-headed lad. Like so many of the players, he just seems to be loving his football just now, and that is key to keeping the momentum going. JR recently commented on the fact that we bounce back from defeats, and having guys like Cammy who are clearly focused and committed to the cause is just tremendous.
I've always raved about Smith and he impresses me more with each game. We are incredibly fortunate to have him.

An absolute stick out since his return to our club, we are lucky to have him. His drive and determination in every game should not be underestimated as he is key to letting our flair players entertain us. He has had a huge impact on our club since returning and the rest of the team responds to his leadership qualities.
For anybody in doubt, Stuart Carswell and Kyle Hutton were up against him today, remember those days!!

I’ve never met him but a colleague of mine is a good mate of his and Stephen kindly got the whole team to sign a shirt for me at the start of the season. Great guy and let’s not forget back to the turning point last season against TNS with that scorcher of a goal, for me he’s been a 7 or 8 out of 10 most weeks ever since!!

Surely if Barnsley see a future for him, they wouldn't send him back up to Scotland. Same reason Kyle McAllister never stayed on.

Think he's too similar to McGinn. We're too one paced in there at the moment. Also thought the middle 2 were tiring against the part timers which is worrying
