ADMITCHELL reacted to div in B&w Army Player Of The Year 2014-2015 Result
Almost 500 Saints fans took the time to vote in our online Eurovision style poll recently to determine the 13th winner of the annual Black & White Army Player of the Year Award, for season 2014-2015.
As the largest Saints unofficial website, our award is always coveted by the players. This season of course has been an incredibly disappointing one for everyone connected with the club, but one that we WILL recover from. The club will bounce back again, just like it has done many times before.
Anyway, to the vote itself and we are really pleased to announce that the winner of this years Player of the Year award for 2015 is none other than....................
Aaron Woodall
Aaron (circled in the photo) is one of our 2008 Junior Academy players who was diagnosed with a brain tumour late last year. Having successfully had his tumour removed this brave young man then underwent many weeks and months of really intensive Radiotherapy and is currently undergoing Chemotherapy as he continues to battle this disease.
Aarron's strength & courage has been an inspiration to all of us, and a timely reminder of things around us that are much more important than football.
We will be in touch with the club shortly to arrange to hand over our coveted trophy to this fine young man, who will also receive a framed St.Mirren shirt, signed by the League Cup winning team of 2013 as part of his award.
Congratulations Aaron and all the very best with your continued recovery.
Top Ten Players (in reverse order - total points received)
Aaron Woodall - 4291
Kenny McLean - 4102
Jim Goodwin - 3089
Stephen Mallan - 2857
Jeroen Tesselaar - 2582
John McGinn - 2429
Marc Ridgers - 2380

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but for me Danny's time was definitely up. It's down to the board who brought in a joke figure in Tommy Craig to replace Danny. Tommy Craig would have made any previous manager look like Sir Alex.

Delusional fantasists x 2.
Just say no, don't do drugs. Or drive minicabs.
If we can finish somewhere in the top 5 of the Championship next season we should be satisfied. Indeed, after the clearout and rebuilding with young, inexperienced talent (which has to happen soon), we may be glad to escape a second straight relegation. Please BOD, no signings of ageing duds, just perhaps one or two old heads in place to lead by example (like a Jimmy Bone or a Tommy Turner or Andy Millen) and a squad of promising, hard-working kids will do for me.

ADMITCHELL reacted to Kemp in Terry Butcher
FFS. We need an experienced manager & a clear out of the squad. Not another assistant being promoted and further stagnation.
One victory over a team who seem to have already gone on their summer holidays does not change that. Look at the league table!

Great game today, Sean Kelly take a bow, sublime today with the rest of the team not far behind. I have been dreading next season but with the right manager we have a core of players that will do just fine. This is what happens when you play players in their correct positions and have a game plan.

ADMITCHELL reacted to Edinbuddie in Club Is Out Of Touch With Support
Football can't have it both ways. If, as we're always told, football clubs are businesses and we're all customers, then what other business would take their customer's loyalty for granted. It's why organisations have PR people - play the game with people, communicate proactively and you can buy yourself a lot of credit.
I paid over £400 for season tickets for this season and it's been shite. It's largely been shite due to a calamitous managerial appointment. I've not heard much from the club that accepts that fact, or even tries to issue some sort of rallying call to galvanise the support for next season.
What do I expect them to say? Give us an idea of their plans - a player clearout, a new manager, a review of the club's structure, a plan on how we get back up...just something that indicates what's going on and recognises that the fans have an important part to play.

ADMITCHELL got a reaction from Bloomsbury Bud in New Manager?
Murray has kept them comfortably in the championship on a budget of a penny caramel, an old chessy, and an elastic band. Probably the type of manager Saints will require next season to stop us sliding to division 1. Maybe?

My opinion has always been "the referee's word is final."
Referees should NOT be asked to explain decisions, and clubs should not complain about them.
Correspondence between clubs and the authorities should be kept confidential. Those responsible for leaking the recent letter from Celtic FC to the authorities should be dealt with.

Do we need to rank the players? Can't we just give it to Kenny McLean and be done with it?
ETA: done. Aaron gets top billing with Kenny runner up. As for the rest....it was pretty much a game of pinning the tail on the donkey.

ADMITCHELL reacted to TsuMirren in Should We Sack Gary Teal
Of course they considered it, hardly turns things around. There is no "hmmm, you know what, the board actually did alright", they should just stop trying to spin it now. No outstanding candidate...did you even advertise it properly Stewart? Simple answer is no, no you didn't. That and anyone with a smattering of football knowledge would just steer clear anyway. It's like the bit when Toast asks his agent if anything else has come in... "Well, I didn't think you'd be interested but the Saint Mirren job is coming up" - "Is that it? No, you were right I'm not interested."

More importantly IMO, he got ICT out of the 1st division at the first time of asking, then left them a firmly established SPFL club, with top six finishes on a few occasions.
I'd kill (an annoying insect) to be in that position just now.

I use my name. I would use my full Christian name too, but when the internet was invented back in the day, I initially used it to keep in touch with family in Sydney, down under in Oz, so simply inserted 'oz' between P Baird.Same username on feeshal' forum, Denver Broncos forum, P&B forum.
Multiple alias trolls can fcuk off as far as I'm concerned. The worst kind being those banned for being complete cnuts, who just come back and continue to be complete cunts under another shite username/guise.

ADMITCHELL reacted to saint since 62 in Things You Would Like To Change About (New) St. Mirren Park
I have read the stuff on the forum for years and never previously posted on any topic but I feel really strongly about this so here goes :
"If I could change one thing about our new stadium it would be the facilities for wheelchair users and others with limited mobility who sit in the front of the stand and take an absolute soaking on any wet day. This is a disgrace and surely more important than video screens and other non-essentials.
On the next wet day just take a minute and look at the folk in front row sitting in capes and all other kinds of wet-weather gear getting drenched. I admire their dedication to watching their team and do not feel that they are being treated with respect or consideration"
I would end my wee rant by inviting one of the directors to come and try it on the next day that it is pouring with rain. If it is wet this Saturday against Accies this would be a nice gesture and an indication that the support of some really loyal fans is not just taken for granted.

ADMITCHELL reacted to pozbaird in Alcohol During Football Matches.
Getting rid of segregation is a nonsense (IMHO he added)... I have regularly used a friend's Celtic ST for games at their midden against us, and I have sat there acting like a neutral while all around me, the cries of abuse at Goodwin, or shouts of 'C'mon Celtic, wipe the floor with this shite' etc, etc. It is absolute murder trying to sit on your hands and block it out.
Could you imagine it at a home game? Sitting beside someone in a Sellik scarf when Broony rams home their third goal? Fcuk me sideways - No, no, no.
Christ, I just remembered the time I watched us play Falkirk in their main stand - that was worse than Celtic Park. I never realised such language existed towards those eleven men in black and white!

ADMITCHELL reacted to bluto in English Tv Deal
Goodish post.My only contention is with the above.
What about all the other sports being denied their share of the pot?
And then again what about the other simply footballing organisations in the UK which could also desire equitable treatment, such as the Welsh, Ulster, women and youth teams?
What about all the sports that used to be freely available on Cooncil TV? Gone. Gone to make more money for the various sports. Gone from freely available for ever.
It IS all about the EPL having done a magnificent job of selling their game (down the river). That fish is off the hook and gone. There won't be any retroactive legislation from anywhere to fix it.
You already have the tools in your hand. Don't subsidise SKY.

ADMITCHELL reacted to bendan in English Tv Deal
That's not true at all. The 5.1 billion is purely for the UK rights for 2016 to 2019. The overseas rights are on top of that, and they are not sold by Sky, though Sky can bid for them in overseas markets, if it wants.
I've got no problem with the EPL getting as much as it can. They do a good job of selling their game. The thing that pisses me off is that if I want to see the SPFL I have to also pay for the EPL, and that obviously makes it much more expensive to watch Scottish football, yet the clubs up here don't capture that money. The amounts are so big now that it is actually a wider economic issue, not just a football one. We are, as a country, pumping a very large amount of money into English sport every year through the media. If our government had any real powers they would be trying to balance things up a bit through regulation, for example by prohibiting the forced bundling of Scottish and English football.
