It was a bit odd but Webster was terrible today, perhaps a message albeit a bit late...

Webster wasn't alone...Mallan was brutal....as was Naismith, Irvine Langfield and most of the rest!

Morgan got pass marks and at least showed some fight and talent.... actually thought Hutton was okish and at least showed for a pass now and again

Reckon Rae will be lucky to see the next couple of games out, what has happened, last year he did a decent job of steadying the ship and signed ok during the summer or so I thought...

    Brutal stuff....

Think he needs to be given more time, I've only been to the Morton game so far this season and we were crap that day and sure we've been just as bad or worse since but still 4 league games just isn't enough to justify a sacking imho....

It does feel like we have a decent ish squad so if he can find a line up that works who knows....

Question: do we feel better tonight having won the match than we would have felt had we lost?
Answer: I'll hazard a guess at 'yes'.
Conclusion: stop bitching and whining and enjoy it.

    This.
Carswell was no where near the worst player yesterday, yes he's too negative on the ball at times but like someone alluded to, he needs to play in the middle of a 3. Another thing I would say was that Carswell never hid yesterday, was still flying into tackles and getting on the ball, compare that to a pretender like Agnew.
The 2 in the middle yesterday were completely over run.
Carswell is just the whipping boy at the moment. Agnew, Kelly, Webster, Baird and Langfied are all far bigger problems than Carswell IMO.

Thought he came across well in his short interview, no outlandish claims, just some realistic improvement. He comes across as a good communicator who is nobody's fool. I don't care what team he supports as long as he gets every st Mirren player giving their all and we at least look as if we are organised. We were unlikely to attract a manager with a great track record so it might just be possible that everything that Rae has learned under good Managers in the past will be of benefit to us. Give the guy a chance

By the "Happy Clapping Sheep on the Forum" do you mean the fans who are prepared to give everyone a chance to see what they can do rather than be completely consumed by their own negativity about absolutely everything to do with the club they apparently "support" ?
If so, I'm one of those sheep and I'm proud of it.
I genuinely wouldn't go to another game if St.Mirren made me as unhappy as it appears to do to some people. Why f**king bother if all it does is make you moan and whine CONSTANTLY.

Unfortunately I have to concede defeat on this one. I have always been 100% behind Thommo but unfortunately I've seen enough this season to draw the conclusion that this is simply a season too far. At the start of the season I commented that if he plays up top with someone else, goals will come. Unfortunately, not only aren't goals coming but he doesn't seem to be able to get himself into that goalscoring position that he was so good at in his career for us. It's not as if we don't create, it's something we do ok with in a lot of games, it just seems he's no longer there or thereabouts when the chances drop. He played well against Rangers, but again I can't recall him having an effort at goal.
Shankland has to come back in now for me. Yes you'll get people saying that he's not proven and they are right, but he's started 3 or 4 matches and found the net twice. 15-20 minutes here and there will do the guy no good at all.

Exactly this, Agnew is poor in central midfield, is so weak and doesn't create anything.
Playing shankland on his own was a mistake, Gallagher was lost out wide and didn't have a great game imo, seen the team in the car and assumed he was playing with 2 up top.....1 ain't working.
McMullen played well enough when he was on the ball, just need to get him it more and he may get that in the middle.
Felt for Baird at right back, never a full back and looked very uncomfortable there.

You're absolutely right, we have to be competing for top 4 and anything else is failure imo
I do think he has signed relatively well (Gow apart), for this level anyway....he just needs to get a settled formation competing and winning some games....easy peasy:-) oh and feckin play 2 up front....

Why are people still talking about giving Thompson the managerial job?
He hasn't even coached an U16 team to my knowledge, FFS.
He is also part of the problem just now. One of the enmeshed characters at the club, who, like all his colleagues, don't seem to have any answer to the abject mess we are in. Where has his leadership been since he became captain (even taking account of his extended lay-off through injury)?
It would be madness to give him the gig. Surely it doesn't take a genius to see that promoting from within has been an utterly flawed policy.

Thought he looked good, no messing about... There was a point in the first half he could have tried to bring it under and mess about with it but under pressure he just hoofed it from the danger area and quite right too....

No boycott required, just can't be arsed going anymore.... Season ticket means we'll go to league games if there is nothing else on but my boys find it a total bore now so not putting them through it and for £30 we'll take Gus's advice and go to the cinema or something, no goals no entertainment, sad times to be a saints fan!

Indeed, bizarre substitutions...said that at the game today, we weren't great but we were hanging in there and they weren't great either, then the subs came and were so poor....felt sorry for the young boy, way out his depth but Caldwell just looks gash.

Live very near Jim and been out on a few occasions with him, an absolute gent of a guy and can tell you a lot of the crap that goes from opposition players/managers etc really hurts him as it's just not something he would do himself as seen last night...
Thought he was excellent last night and I know that the support he received will mean a lot to him. He stays away from twitter/forums etc as it's just not his style so the crowd getting behind him last night will mean a lot to him.
Hope we win the appeal as think we need him in the run in, although I doubt the SFA will admit the ref got it wrong.
As for the daily ranger view from last night best ignored, can't believe they said he trod a fine line...he wasn't even close to it...
