I agree that he offers something different going forward, but who would you drop? I thought the midfield worked their arses off yesterday, McLean and McGinn we're outstanding going forward in the first half and all four buckled down to defensive duties when needed, I just couldn't see us taking any of the four off even if we had a fit Teale on the bench, much as I admire Teale.

Calm doon Billy, Dundee Utd are a good team and beat Saint Johnstone 4-0. Who beat ICT 4-0.

All we can hope for is Danny doesn't tinker with the team. Exactly the same line up as Tynecastle please, keep Grainger and Harkins on the bench and play McGinn and Kelly on the left.
The difference between the performance of those two kids on the left when contrasted with Grainger and Harkins (who played there at Easter Road) was unbelievable. DG and GH two experienced players but against Hibs they were lethargic, out of position and - in general - all over the place. Was no surprise that one was subbed off and hasn't played since and the other was sent off...and hasn't played since.
The left flank at Tynecastle last week was the best part of a good performance for me, the two kids looked they'd been playing there in a partnership with each other for years. McGinn was the obvious highlight, one minute he was drifting in at the back post to stick the ball in the net, the next he was covering for Kelly and making superb tackles. Sean was solid and full of energy and his distribution and positioning were excellent, the two of them seemed to have an innate understanding of when to over lap and when to hold back.
Long may that blossoming partnership between those two continue, and if this means Grainger and Harkins spend the season on the bench, good.

Our season so far Danny has moved certain players all over the place to accommodate Harkins.
We've really suffered from this and now it's quite clear that we can't move Gowser to accommodate anyone.
If Harkins is on the park he needs to be played in a position that doesn't involve moving McGowan.
McGowan is our first line of defence, he chases down everything and his work rate is excellent. He had great ability to link up midfield and attack and must play just off Thommo.
If you want to save your ass Danny with the new owners, play Gowser just off Thommo and Harkins will need to warm the bench and sulk some more.

I'd bring on Stephen Hawking before I would consider Harkins.

Well that's one way of looking at it and perhaps that was his intent.
Here's another way of looking at it though.
Women are a group of people who have suffered hundreds of years of oppression, rape, violence, mutilation, abuse and now disdain.
Many have been killed for advancing their cause and continue to face this threat in many parts of the world and are routinely denied access to education and the top jobs too.
Now you have to wonder whether it's appropriate for the group of people (men) inflicting this on them to be undermining them in the way Cowan is doing and accusing them of a lack of a sense of humour when they take offence.
Are we men really so stupid that they don't understand this?
Are we not intelligent enough to know that taking the piss out of people who are or who have historically been oppressed (such as women, blacks, gays etc) is questionable?

I really struggle with this one. I think we were on a hiding to nothing when they went down to 9 men. What if we had won? It would be forever tainted with the "you only beat 9 men" thoughts at the back of all our minds.
We lost. Gus went. Danny came in and we won the same trophy 3 years later after 5 excellent games, each of which we thoroughly deserved to win. A complete, deserved acheivement that forever trumps the 2010 debacle. None of this is of any relevance to where we are right now, of course, but it is a wonderful redemption story that I'm happy to relive from time to time, and talk about to anyone who will listen, for the rest of my life.

Dear Board of Directors,With all due respect to those with opinions to the contary, please allow Danny more time to turn our current fortunes around. Despite the vocal discontent and the apparent agenda of some to remove Danny from his position we do not all agree with this course of action. Whilst we all want success and can understand why some want a change in personnel it seems folly to back a manager through the transfer window with two late signings to then sack him. I for one think more time is required and whilst others are quick to point the finger, may I thank you for your stewardship of our club from the brink of collapse to two National cup finals and one phenomenal success in March. Speculating to accumulate has failed us woefully in the past and contributed to the demise of Scottish football. Investing in youth and allowing the club to nurture this talent is paramount. Our current manager appears to have been able to introduce this young talent into our squad with a few very notable successes. He needs more time to continue doin this and whilst there will be numerous ups and downs along the way I believe he is taking us in the right direction. A strongly worded statement of support even if it were to contain certain parameters that had to be achieved would go a long way to quelling the rumblings of many.

With all due respect to those with opinions to the contrary, I hope you are given time to turn things around. Whilst I personally think it lunacy to think of changing manager at this point in time, I can understand where others questioning your tenure are coming from, with us all wanting success. As many have said the success you have delivered has been wonderful. The day in March was indescribable and your conduct both that day and throughout your time at St.Mirren have been impeccable. Your dignity, humility and kind words have been a pleasure to see and hear with your representation of our club being flawless. Please note that we the fans all want St.Mirren to succeed, and whilst there does appear to be an agenda to oust you from your position, we don't all think that way. Others like myself who have been less vocal still believe that your philosophy will come true and prove the doubters wrong. Please do everything within your power to turn things around as I think we would take a step backwards without you at the helm.

Dear Playing Staff,
With all due respect to the fans who have voiced their opinions to the contrary, please show them with renewed vigour through performances on the pitch that Danny Lennon is a manager who you respect and trust. You may not always agree with his decisions be it team selection, formation tactics, substitutions, training methods or choice of post match pizza toppings, but please raise your game to save this man his job. Whilst others have given up hope and are pointing the finger, some still have faith and hope success without personnel change can be sought. Despite our collective angst (louder from some than others), we the fans, support you and our backing of the club is unwavering. Please repay this support with a change in form and we will be most grateful. Thank you for delivering a day in the sun in March which will never be forgotten and the performances that led to it. Can we have some more please to quiet the discontent from very vocal quarters?
