Brilliant news!

I'm guessing he must've had assurances he will be number one? Can't see him signing to sit on the bench! Great bit if business!

buddie reacted to JJ McG in Players Leaving!
McGregor would be a big loss, more so than McGowan in my opinion.

buddie reacted to Soctty in Players Leaving!
I am firmly of the belief that we will see the best of McGregor again next season, and that it's easy to underestimate the effects of two consecutive cruciate ligament injuries on his performance. Listening to experts, it can take the same time as that spent out injured to get back the optimum sharpness and fitness you had before. The effect long injury lay offs on performances is always underestimated in my opinion.
It may be that these injuries have a permanent detrimental effect on McGregor's play, which remains to be seen, but I'm more than willing to cut him some slack based on what he's gone through.
For me, it'd be a big blow to lose him. It would leave us with Cheesy and Goodwin in central defence. I know they played together as we won the cup, but have been widely criticised as a pairing, and would see us lose Goodwin's drive and leadership in midfield to compound things.

Same squad from last week nobody cancelled so far. We should mix it up tonight then. I'll bring bibs etc you'll be glad to know they've been washed this week.

McGregor was quoted as saying he was desperate to sign on only a few weeks back. Maybe Hearts are offering more money? Some other reason? Would've thought he would've stated loyal to us after 2 years out though. Also, he's a Hibs fan, makes it a bit less believable?

Injured most of last season, starting to decline now? Kept out of the team post split at Motherwell's most critical stage of the season. Likely a very high wage as well ...
Pass.

Said it last year, but I'd take Mikael Antoine-Curier from Hamilton. Good target man and knows where the net is. Wouldn't imagine his wages would be very high either?

Completely untrue. He's in Ibiza with most of the squad for a holiday post season. All over twitter and Instagram

buddie reacted to Drew in St Mirren's New Manager Is Tommy Craig
When you change manager, there is an opportunity to inject an element of freshness into the playing side of the club's business. Appointing from within limits that potential.
While I was ambivalent as to whether Danny should stay right up to the BoD's announcement yesterday, now that he has gone, there is scope to introduce something new, and to shake things up a bit. To be honest, I think we all accept that this wouldn't be a bad thing, and you have to assume the board feel the same given their decision.

If they replace him as has been suggested in a few corners with Barry Ferguson , or a manager with no track record at this level the can whistle for my ticket money.

Great result and big congratulations to Danny and the players.
Wylde and magennis are fantastic players to have coming off the bench, they just open the game up with their pace and directness, I actually hope we keep Josh after the summer and I never though I would have said that when he signed

The subs really changed the game in our favour. Magennis and Wylde were tremendous when they came on, fantastic decision made at the right time.

The Goldenooldies won by a couple of goals but it was a hotly contested cup tie atmosphere and great to play in. The youngsters should get down to meta fit with Alan cassidy and improve on their flagging fitness which is the only thing holding them back. ;-)
A game will go ahead next with the same 16 as last night getting initial invites but most likely will have to work our way through the 35 plus guys to get our 16. It will be played as a one off game with line up being reset to the same 16 as last night for the week after due to the mighty St Mirren playing next Wednesday.
