Can't argue with any of the choices. I'm really surprised at how low McWhirter scored tho. I suppose the young 'uns never saw him play and the fogies have seen better players. The middle aged guys must have forgotten to vote.
I mean f**king boo!

Taking my nephew to his first game today and would like to show him the 1877 Club. Do we need to be signed in by a member? If that's the case would any good Buddie be willing to sign us in?

Aber, Fitzy, McWhirter. Started going to games in '85 so can't comment on players before then. Apologies to Yards, Gunni and Money

Brilliant article. I can state, without any hyperbole whatsoever, that Fitzy is the greatest guy who has ever lived

Just buy them over the phone. Nothing can go wrong. I received this receipt today for the 7 tickets I ordered yesterday. I'll need to cancel this month's donation to the orphanage [emoji2] -

I love a Friday evening game too. This had better be a particularly good one cos when I called the ticket office today to order 7 tickets they accidentally charged me £1,410. On the plus side I think I now own SMISA. -

gilberto reacted to TediousTom in St Mirren give Barnsley permission to speak to JR
Initially Jack was on £50,000 per annum, this was increased to £75,000 per annum after Jack received and rejected an offer from Dundee Football Club. At that time Jack, being a fabulous human being, also made sure that his assistant (Mr James Fowler) received a pay increase of £10,000 per annum.
I know this as I often go out late at night and rake through the bins of staff and players of Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co. Using this method I know all sorts of things. I can for example confirm that Connor O'Keefe received one valentines card and the handwriting thereon matches that of his mother.

Agree that he's special, IOBS. Don't agree that he'd be nuts not to take the Barnsley job. He has a good job and is building an excellent reputation where he is. Let's hope he stays. -

A few thoughts having slept on this....
Jack is a shrewd guy. He will know that, despite the financial incentive that might be on offer, a move to a club that is in the relegation zone at this stage in the season would be a gamble.
Whilst he remains at St Mirren, the odds are that he will take us from teetering on the brink of dropping to the 3rd tier of Scottish football, to securing promotion to the top in less than 2 years. If he moved to Barnsley and they go down, that it is opposite career trajectory. That could potentially be very damaging.
Critically, for me, is the fact that JR only really kicked on at Saints when he had a huge clear out and brought in his own players. He wouldn't be in a position to do that if he were to move to Barnsley. It would appear that he needs time to nurture players, and ensure that they are on board with his way of doing things. He wouldn't have that luxury if he moved now. Barnsley might well survive in the Championship, but there are absolutely no guarantees.
Finally, for a club in trouble in the 2nd tier of English football, and with all the cash and, therefore, options washing around down there, would they really take a punt on a young man who hasn't even managed in the top league in Scotland or actually won anything as yet? I doubt it, to be honest. You'd have to assume that Stevie Clarke, for example, would be considered a better option for them.
This is just an unwelcome distraction, that we need like a hole in the f**king head just now. Let's hope it is put to bed very soon.
