Well quite frankly the demise of our beloved football club since winning a major trophy just three years ago is down to our Mr Gilmour and our previous Board who showed little interest in running the club properly with a series of poor managerial appointments etc. I think Jack will get things right but it will take time.

Very good appointment. Just what we need, someone who is intelligent, articulate, good at man management and plays attacking football. What's not to like.
    Welcome back Jack.

Currently down in the East Midlands for a long weekend. Went to the King Power Stadium earlier today. Club shop was huge... now, steady yourselves folks... they had team kits on sale in it. Amazing, huh? Place was really busy. Fans buying the new white away kit mostly. The stadium itself is un-impressive from the outside. Identikit modern stadium. Could be Derby, could be Middlesborough, could be any of these new grounds. Leicester itself was a very nice city though. Never been here before, very clean and a pretty city with tons of old architecture and interesting history. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been here.
Definitely a 'one town one team' vibe here. Like Newcastle.... Except their team aren't shite and got relegated. Very impressed by my visit to Leicester, and sounds like it means I avoided a shit-fest at FeegieField...

The reason Juventus play in black & white stripes is down to Notts County. So technically what you want is a Notts County strip.
Incidentally, went there a couple of seasons ago with 2 members of this forum. Tidy little ground. And a great day out.

    In no particular order...
3-2 v Celtic, 2013 League Cup, en route to winning the trophy.
2-1 at Ayr 2000, late late late winner by Paul McKnight
3-2 at Motherwell, aka 'The Great Escape'
    2-1 v Hearts, 87 semi final
2-1 away to Raith, 2000, not just one late goal, but two.
So many others, from many years before or after. But these are the games where I REALLY lost it when we scored. And I think that's what makes them most memorable. All the cup wins are up there too, but excluded as per the OP.

This looks very promising. And in fact, almost regardless of how successful he might be, what's already important is that it's a crowd pleaser, one for us to feel excited about. Practice set pieces and cross balls all summer long, use them next season, and he will get us the goals we want.

The issue is that the likes of Falkirk managed a Puma strip launch probably three weeks ago now? The launch day at their stadium saw queues out the shop and down the car park. The kit is on sale at the Falkirk shop, at the Falkirk Stadium, where Falkirk fans can buy it, in the town of, erm, Grangemouth.
It appears Falkirk are liasing with their kit supplier for a co-ordinated early launch that has worked well.
Another issue is that if you go into a big sports shop you will see racks of the new Sellik taps, the new Barca taps, and a host of Euro 2016 participant taps.
Saints supporting kids see their pals running around in some sort of new kit and think 'Never mind, the deal with JD Sports is a great one for the BoD even if I'm now gagging for a new Messi or Ronaldo tap'....
It all smacks of apathy and not giving much of a fcuk. IMHO.

And where's the truth in saying something like that?
Attendances may have been ok but that is despite the dramatic drop-off in the quality of football we are being asked to watch.
Burying our head in the sand is one of the things we are comparatively good at!

St Mirren should invite renewal quotes from JD / Puma / Aberdeen-esque Adidas / Dundee United-esque Nike / Macron / Whoever.... Plus, if moving from JD, look for stand-alone main shirt sponsorship partnerships, like the one on the rear with Infiniti.St Mirren should be the organ grinder, and should be kicking JD's stones for their continual quality control / supply issues.
I am not saying for one minute the JD deal isn't good for the St Mirren BoD. It clearly is, as the club have JD as the ones taking care of just about everything, including stadium and shirt sponsorship, plus JD have sole responsibility for 'a shop' situation. The deal for fans who buy the strips though? Bespoke design feature aside - it's a shite deal.
If JD are so good - why are the likes of Aberdeen with knock-off Adidas? Why did the Arabs stick with knock-off Nike? Why aren't these clubs knocking down JDs door to grab a piece of the JD action? Why are Falkirk piss-farting around with Puma and a long-standing relationship with a shirt sponsor like Central Demolition?

Wouldn't it have been nice that on the day we announced the signing of a new player ahead of an exciting new season that for the press pic new player could have been decked out in the new kit ?
    Positive press
    Good reaction
Feel good factor ..... All opportunities missed?
Could have pulled in some kit sales - sold a few season tickets or even a handful more #buythebuds
Interestingly Tranmere signed new player today - they also have a Jd / Cabrini sports deal - their new player wasn't in next seasons kit either!!! However at least the article had the player posing in a Tranmere tshirt which said was one of a new range available in club shop !
Do we just miss a trick every time - or as a club are we just generally not arsed

Both sets of fans were in the wrong and both clubs should be hammered.Hibs for the initial pitch invasion and newco for the reaction to the PI plus the sectarian chants that were blasted out for the full game.I don't know how anyone can even try to defend either set of fans.
BUT.....where were the polis at full time?It was all over Twitter all week that there should be a 'pitch invasion if Hibs win".I thought the polis scanned social media for things like this?Should that not have been a wee clue for them?
    So......
    Hibs fans?......Guilty
    Newco fans?.....Guilty
    Polis?..........Guilty.

What an absolutely amazing day and night!! They reckon there was close to 250,000 people in Leicester last night!
Got great views of the bus with all the players and the trophy on London Road. Picked my spot well so I was right next to it!
Then on to the crazy scenes in Victoria Park. Unbelievable. All the players on stage, everyone celebrating, flags waving, people cheering & singing. All very, very good natured, with everyone having a drink of one thing or another.
And all topped off by a surprise 4 song set by Kasabian live on the stage. Just brilliant!
What a fantastic time. Will live long in the memory.

What a day. What a night. I've never seen anything like it...!
I was 15 when we won the Scottish Cup, but I still celebrated it! I've seen us win that, plus the League Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the second tier league 3 times. Add to that the Anglo-Scottish Cup and countless Renfrewshire Cups, plus cup semis and European adventures.
But I've never seen anything like Leicester today. f**king mental! Mental! But good mental!
I started this thread as a bit of fun, as a Saints fan living his life following a second team because he had to move away from Paisley.
I never thought I'd see this! Especially as the city I've moved to isn't London, or Manchester, or Liverpool. But Leicester...
I'm very proud tonight. This is my adopted city. It has my heart now, and I love the fact that I live somewhere that has a lot of the things I've always loved about being a St.Mirren fan.
One city, one team, all in it together. Underdogs, battling against the established teams. Passionate fans, all with one aim, one hope, dreaming for that impossibility that might just become possible.
It's happened here this season. And who is to say that SMFC can't do the same?
We can dream. Everything is possible if we believe.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the Champions League next season, and who knows, 2 in a row!!??

Exactly. They don't want to admit that the 6-2 result caused just as much damage as the 5-0.
Big time Bottlers as was evident by the way they were rolled over by Aberdeen in the Cup Final a week later.
Time to remind them about 5-2 victory securing a UEFA Cup place the season before.
The Scottish Cup Semi-Final victory of '87.
Then that wonderful day in 2013.
Any victory over Rangers-lite is a good 'un!

Everything was so professionally done. I noticed for example that Leicester played the game in their new kit, but after the match, even though emotions would be mega-high looking to the trophy handover, someone had organised the entire squad changing back into this season's current kit - socks, shorts, the lot. This ensured the historic photos and footage that would be taken would be consistent with the kit worn all season. When Leicester release the inevitable DVDs, from season's start to season's end, it all ties up.
Over to you St Mirren. Gie's the new strips... Cannae' gie's a hall of fame panel after...... Cue signature text....
    Frankly, now a disgrace.
