The Scottish Government seems interested after the aussies pulled out,  it could be a multi-city effort with Glasgow as the hub with the facilities already in place for swimming, indoor velo andplaces like the Emorates and the Hydro.
I don't know about the main stadium though, Hampden might laready be geting a makeover for the world cup joint bid and they have been listed for the Europa League and other finals in 26-27
I feel sorry for Australia. they often compare themselves to the Spice Girls at time like these, everybody tries their best but Victoria always let the rest down

I think we can dispense with the Montrose game and see how the side perform on Saturday.  I will be watching online again.  I don't see the sense of signing a winger and trying to turn him into a wing-back, perhaps coaching him to track and cover a bit more would make sense but if he isn't that kind of player then we really need to play to his strengths.
The possibility of 2 new strikers is exciting, as always we struggled to get the ball to the front players on Saturday and the manager needs to work out how he will improve delivery into and around the box so that the forwards can be a success.  That will tell us if he has a plan for the side that can work

The manager seems unusually cheerful given how shit we have been in the last 2 outings.  Talking about the timing of the group games doesn't make much sense since it is the same for all teams, even with a couple of players moving on the remnants of last year's squad should be dealing with these teams efficiently.  If anything, this clip adds to the notion that the manager doesn't really sweat over the league cup group games

I don't think that is what he meant.  I don't recall Main starting in any other position than up-front, he still did a power of work tracking and covering in every game.  Not every forward will be able to make the same contribution in either situation for us.

I just assume the manager has no interest in the Viaplay and nor should we if that is the case.  If he has told the players just to jog around, build fitmess and not injure themselves then I don't really see why any of us should hand over any cash for these games.  10-15 minutes of hard work by us should really kill-off teams like Montrose though.
I was resigned to Robinson being a really bad appointment this time last year and he almost won me over completely by the end of the first phase of  the league, hopefully we will improve somewhat by mid-August.
I'm going in to hospital again this week and at least that gives me the excuse not to go to any games, if they rally by the weekend then the Cowden match is close by for me so I might just head along to that if it's not pishing down.
Otherwise, i will wait for the league to start before getting excited again

People have said before that it wouldn't necessarily hurt a player to accept a contract extension even if they intended to leave as it compensates the club  when we would otherwise get zilch.  Carson has done that  and while I dont think he intended things to play out as i described the end effect is the same, he will get another club and saints will be able to avaid being out of pocket.  Without any proof I would not be surprised if TC fancies himself a shot at more international caps if he gets a more prominent club (he can't be looking for a lesser one given his form and having 2-4 good years ahead of himself).  Maybe some of his previous problems have come back to haunt him or maybe he just feels that he needs to cash in more heavily than he currently does to make up some of the ground he lost financially in the past.
As to how much, you need to look at the clubs who need a new 1st pick goalie and  how much they can afford.  I really don't study the market but the only SPFL clubs that can pay more than us seem well set for now so it is down south or foreign shores for him, or two years of freezing his arse off on the fringes.

It all reminds me of a story one of my college lecturers told
He was working at James Watt college when Peter McDougall came in to speak to some of the students
at a reception, and after a few drinks, one of the lecturers asked if there was any Juicy Goss from his time at the BBC.  He told the story of a doumentary made in the early-mid 70s about rent boys in London and there was a pre-edit screening for  high heid yins and others.  in the documentary, the narrator asked a young Scots guy about  the big dangers of such a life, the reply was that many of the more establishment type figures would get into a sort of self-hating rage and get violent with the boys after sex and you could never tell when or if it would happen.  "who would you say were the worst types for this kind of behaviour?"  asked the interviewer/narrator.  He probably expected to hear of a type or a typical group, such as politicians, military men, clergy, etc.  The reply was the name of a well known BBC commentator and presenter, who had a midweek sports show carrying his surname which was similar to a well-known brand of mustard.  The bigwigs got to their feet and locked the doors, stopped the reel and ordered everyone in the room to forget what they had heard on pain of sacking and legal action.  The reel or tape was ripped out of the machine and physically destroyed there and then.
Within months, mustard guy had disappeared from the screens and was reported to be launching a global tv sports empire that never got going, the show returned as Sportsnight and the roving reporter was promoted to anchor man, shortly after this his name was added to the show's title.  Mustard guy had a short-lived comeback in the early 80s.
Now McDougall was a rogue and possibly still is, but the lecturer was adamant this was all true and the story as told to him seemed very genuine

I'd say Jamieson has a good chance and Offord a chance to be effective forwards at SPL level.  Goalscorers?  Maybe not regular or main scorers.
Grieve toils manfully and links up well, he lacks the physical presence he needs to take advantage of the little space he forges for himself.  For him, it is always about the out-ball and the occasional nibble from goalmouth stramashes, though i do remember at least one very good goal from around the edge of the box.  It might be that he will be better with better personnel around him.  I can see why manager's keep guys like him in the side as it at least keeps us competitive in tight matches, we just need to be looking beyond that tactic now and turning more of these tight results into clear victories.

i'm not sure we have, his graft covered up a whole load of deficiencies and any talent we have signed will have to be just as committed as he has been and that is actually quite a rare thing.
