W6er
This forum is full of pessimism and despondency, following the games against Morton and Montrose, so I propose a thread to cheer us all up: reasons for optimism. I'll get the ball rolling. 1) We still have the forward to join us.

portmahomack saint
Need to come up with something better than that to cheer us up, Stmirren signing a striker is more likely to fill you with dread, the last good one we had we gave him a free transfer before he had started shaving
Chops
Steve Archibald was right, St Mirrens a graveyard for strikers.

W6er
3) Robinson was able to get the best out of Main, transforming him from a donkey into one of our best players. It may take some time for him to do the same with some of our recent signings.

Talking about the timing of the group games doesn't make much sense since it is the same for all teams, even with a couple of players moving on the remnants of last year's squad should be dealing with these teams efficiently. If anything, this clip adds to the notion that the manager doesn't really sweat over the league cup group games

elvis
No reason whatsoever for any optimism Div over on pie & bovril now thinks the striker that might be coming in is not even fit he's been injured for a while now.Only St Mirren would do that. Yes A plan to use the viaplay as a warm-up for the league, which means that fans should not expect much from the group stage As long as that is clear when we pay for our tickets

Magicians do things the same way, as rehearsed, every time.

Leave talk of bowel movements to us older guys W6 Each season I start with the thought that survival in the top league is the target. Anything else is a bonus - in other words we don't need to run any faster than the bottom two clubs to escape. I would call that pragmatism. What would I like? A European Place. If it is Kayode then his manager speaks very highly of him, he might be short of fitness just now but it could be that we have a really good player when he is fit
elvis
And while we wait on him getting fit we will be sitting bottom of the league. Lol

alwaystrue
Surely the best reason for optimism is that we aren't either of the arse cheeks or the arse cheeks lite. And Jim Goodwin got United relegated 😁 reasons to be cheerful 🤣
