I don't think it is as bad as it may appear.
The silence from the club is simply because they want all legal issues with OK done before saying anything. As the argument is over compensation they will not want to say anything that could be used to argue he has been fired and due 2 years compensation.
"No new manager or signings in the pipeline" is not true.
It would appear the club are confident an approach to Alloa and Jim Goodwin will be successful.
Gus MacPherson is in place to ensure continuation of the signing policy that worked fairly well in December. I would imagine contract discussions are ongoing with a number of targets, including Kyle McAllister.
We could certainly do without the trip to Belfast for a bounce game, but it seems this set up with Rosario is something they are looking to build on long-term.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Jim Goodwin taking training in Spain & some new faces in the squad very soon.

From the look of that article, he's clearly held in high esteem by the board and fans at Coleraine, and based upon what we saw of him I can understand that. Based on that article, I fully expect him to make the whole  journey back to the Emerald Isle on foot

Maybe just don't want a repeat of Stubbs raising his head every few months to have a bitch and a moan, and have included something financially advantageous in the deal to secure that, which would appear to be eminently sensible under the circumstances. I think we've had all the headlines we would rather not have for a while, or would that just be far too sensible for our club?

As it happens, I do tend to suspect he's not the best person for the Chief Exec job. I believe he'd be a better fit as a club ambassador, tbh.
    But still, would be interesting.

It's standard practice with those settlement agreements. It prevents people going to the papers with any old bollocks and generally makes it easier all round - just draws a nice, clean line in the sand that everyone knows can't be crossed.

If something has become a legal matter as mentioned today in the papers, surely you can understand the club cannot comment directly to fans until this is resolved.
To me, it seems like they have considered decisions, looking at the long term and questioning the managers commitment. They have shown leadership by taking action.
I lik Oran, he brought that same feel good factor unity that JR did, though whatever happens, the board are acting in the clubs best interests. They may be businessman, though they are also fans like the rest of us.

I'm afraid you're missing the point though. If it has gone down the way it's being reported, the simple notion of even asking the question to change the goalposts is a red flag in itself.
It's not quite as full on as leaving the web browser in work open on indeed.com but it's not a boot in the arse away.
If you're looking to manufacture a conflict, safe in the knowledge you have a cushy number waiting for you back home if things don't go your way, it's really easy to do.

I'm not saying neither party is blameless and I really like OK. I'd be raging if this appeared to be a petty squabble but I will stand by GLS for protecting the interests of SMFC before I'll stand by a manager going into chancing it territory.

Surely the game is only beautiful if it is being administered and officiated fairly and to the mutual benefit of all participants and stakeholders, otherwise it is simply a means of a few being allowed to lord it over those on the outside of their "inner circle"?
There can be no denying that the standard of refereeing that is allowed to prevail in Scotland week after week is absolutely atrocious, with inexplicable decisions being made to the detriment of those on the receiving end. There was the start of some noise from clubs this season about the problem, but it should not be allowed to just drift away and be forgotten over the summer because the same officials will be making the same poor decisions again come next season.
If the price of addressing such a fundamental problem in order to achieve a more even outcome for all concerned is for games to be paused momentarily when a major decision needs to be reviewed, then so be it. Hasn't done any harm to rugby or tennis or even football where it has been used in my view. Guess their governing bodies are just more interested in operating on a level playing field.

At a club of our size players and managers will move on to bigger things.
John's transfer to Hibs in the end worked out very well for us. In fact, the sell on to Aston Villa now makes him the biggest transfer fee we have ever received. His agent was doing what was needed to force the move, it could have been handled better but on the other hand issues around the insurance payment after John got a spear through this leg could also have been handled better from the clubs side.
John has even come back and sat in the stand home and away supporting us & his brothers. Last time I saw him was at Tynecastle earlier this season sat in with the St Mirren fans.
You can either enjoy and celebrate the progress of guys like McGinn, McLean, and Jack Ross....or you can be bitter and twisted about how they left, transfer fees received, how many clubs they talked to etc. It is no surprise you would choose the latter, the majority of us though try to be a bit more positive about things and will enjoy seeing Paul Dummett, John McGinn and Kenny McLean up against the best players in the world next season and hoping the likes of Kyle McAllister, Stevie Mallan and Kyle Magennis can kick on with their careers and join them up there too one day.

I think the opposite has been proven and that is why it is being adopted by all the major leagues.
I don't think if we had been relegated we would be sat here happily waiting for next seasons playoff for "things to even themselves out". The technology can help curb the power of a single referee who has lost the plot -something Scottish football could certainly benefit from.

Did anyone else spot what i thought was a nailed on penalty for us 2nd half when I think it was Mullen was running through their box looking for a cutback and their defenders was basically cuddling him for want of better explanation for about 6 or 7 steps. From directly behind in Main stand it looked a cert.
It was like he was trying to run with a big tangerine rucksack. I though me and the fellow beside me were going to lose a lung bawling about it.
Our main side assistant was as bad as Beaton. Gave us absolutely nothing and the first foul we did get right in front of him he reacted to Beaton whistling and slowly raised his flag to pretend.
Total howler also when he just assumed a ball was going dead flagged for goalkick early and then just brazened it out when Mullen got the sole of his boot to it and stopped it well before going out.
Between them they allowed Utd players to plough through the back of our forwards time after time to the point that they probably thought  just outright taking them out the game like MacKenzie was fine for them to do. Connelly's first move every high ball was a shove into the back of his forward.
Crowd were magnificent. Pressure and edginess meant a little bit quiet and outdone by good noisy Utd support at times but gave great backing throughout and loud when it mattered to lift the side.
Well done all the young uns ...didn't realise the level of WoahhhhhhhhWoahhhh during Utd spot kicks, great stuff..
