Bahahah.

What a shambles Scottish football really is. This is the best team in the country FFS

Absolutely. And yet some people still want to talk up our failed elite youth development programme.

Celtic have the best youth scouting system in Scotland. They've invested heavily in their training academy. They've got a tie in with one of the SFA Football Development Academies. They've also had a long standing policy of PAYING transfer fees to other Senior Scottish Clubs to sign players as young as 12 and 13 years old to recruit them into their development programme. Yet still Efe Ambrose gets a game. You really do have to wonder what is in those academies.

Scottish players seem to put in more effort to the way they look.

Hair, Tattoos, Jessie Boots, etc ( Forrest was patting his hair in place at every opportunity last night, while having no positive influence on the game of football )

Very few have mastered their trade

For once Shull, you have a point. Too many players around Europe with the Billy Big Baws attitude. Look at Engerland

Yes look at England regularly qualifying for major finals of international competition. If only Scotland had that level of failure. As it is our top clubs have spent all summer shopping for players playing in League Two in England and the pub leagues in the Netherlands looking for our leagues next batch of superstars for us to pay way over the odds to watch misplace passes as they struggle with their first eight touches.

As I said you really have to wonder what the state of Elite Development in this country when club managers feel compelled to offer expensive contracts to foreigners they've watched heavily edited You Tube videos on.

Stuart as usual deliberately misses the point. Yes, England usually qualify easily for tournaments. They have players on lottery win wages. Doesn't make them great players. Celtic and their Ibrox business partners throw silly money at salaries, relative to the average Scottish club, while hoovering up young talent from around the country. This takes potential players out of football and leaves a trail of possible players whose careers don't get off the ground. These young Scots are well paid for being 3rd choice behind some foreign average left back. Then year in year out Celtic realise that paying daft wages to average players is found out when they play against organised motivated teams in Europe. The nature of their support means that a new manager is required to bring big names in on even more ridiculous wages, and so it continues.
The English situation is the same. I read the other day that Grant Hanley, yes Grant Hanley! was being sold for £24 million! Proof positive that money does not buy success

To be fair to Craig Gordon he must've been a bit wary when he lost the goal; he'll probably remember what happened the last time someone representing Irish Republicanism was in Gibraltar and put their hands up......
