TopCat
St Mirren are bigger than Falkirk in every way really. Past history, recent history, amount of titles won, amount of finals played in, years spent in top flight, amount of times played in Europe. Yeah however you cut the cake we are bigger than them. Totally agree. Bigger? Yes. Sadly though, at this moment in time we have allowed the to become better.

We have finished above them for six years in a row I believe. They were due a turn of finishing above us. On the flip side of the coin, we finished above Aberdeen a few years back. smfc_spec_1877
Was out last night and bumped into the man himself. He said that Falkirk spoke to him 2/3 weeks ago and declared their interest. St Mirren were also interested but after Falkirk spoke to him he had his sights set. Premiership teams were wanting him too but he thought that would be too much of a jump. Really good lad. We've missed out there.

stlucifer
I would think the lad's decision is more to do with current situations than which club is bigger. We are in a precarious position in the league still not safe from relegation mire whereas Falkirk are fighting at the right end of the table. Still not out of contention for automatic promotion. Especially if the rangers end up in administration causing a 15 point penalty, if you agree they are a new club, or a 25+ penalty if they're daft enough to fight for the right to be acclaimed as the original entity. We've missed out there. Falkirk coaching staff including Houston watched him against Annan yesterday but left early apparently, as per a throwaway line on Open All Mikes on the beeb yesterday. Doesn't seem to be a rush from any club to get him to put pen to paper. If Premiership clubs are sniffing you would have thought that Falkirk would have made their move by now unless he has actually knocked back the top league clubs. He's already signed for Falkirk and they've loaned him back to East Fife. http://www.fifetoday.co.uk/sport/football/east-fife-striker-nathan-austin-signs-for-falkirk-1-4002502
