HSS
How come Muffin the Mule is an offence but Dobbin the Horse is acceptable?
faraway saint
It's an hour later for kick off, why? No interest in horses, won't bother watching.

TopCat
Aye, coz they've always catered for fitba fans. Apparently that is the reason. Gambling companies will have had a big say I guess.

FTOF
Used to love the Grand National, but don't watch it or bet on it any more. However, as I've aged (gracefully of course), the thought of horses being forced to jump over fences combined with a distance that is potentially fatal, has become somewhat distasteful. Tommy
I have always wondered how the horses all look knacked after running and jumping for around 10 mins. Watch any western and you will see the horses running for hours with them barely breaking sweat. Aye they don't make horses now the way they used to in the auld days

Aye, animals aren't on this planet for our entertainment. And certainly not to be shot and sent to the glue factory if they break a bone while entertaining us. I did enjoy going to the races too, but the more I think about it its pretty f**king disgusting behaviour on the part of all the humans involved. Guest TPAFKATS
I like the racing however I'm of the opinion that the national needs reviewed, the fences are too big for starters.
faraway saint
Let all the horses run free, that's what I say.

proudtobeabuddy
I'm not happy about the risk to the horses and jockeys and if they scrapped it i wouldn't care too much either. I'll bet on the Scottish next week and that will be it for another year.

As far as i can see , no Tree huggers or Gees Gees died during or after yesterdays race. The fences however didnt fare so well. Ban the race, cruelty to Leylandii must be stopped.
