DONALD J TRUMP

Will judge after a couple of years. Independence news was biased, Brexit news was biased, American news reports were biased.  Maybe people are starting to see just how controlled the media is.                                                                                                                                      Conspiracy all legal rights apply.

Anyone watch BBC news tonight. The wall is all about torture tonight ? ( TORTURE)  Where did that come from. I thought Trump said it was about stopping cheap labour in particular stopping drugs being easily imported  to the USA. So why did BBC not follow  that line ?  Jeez I must be a conspiracy nutcase. . Have you seen how he's proposing to pay for the wall? He's the man, alright, that'll teach those Mexicans.

Aye a 20% surcharge on Mexican imports, which will be passed onto American consumers. [emoji3]

I had the misfortune to see a bit of the news last showing Mae and Trump exchanging sickly sweet platitudes. It nearly gave me the boak.

It was quite amusing to see Trump trying to hold Mae's hand as they walked out of the meeting. He was quickly rebuffed.

I'm just surprised that he didn't slap her arse.

Don't be stupid. He only did that to women. Clapping her was more apt!

I suspect May was happy to hold his hand, at least that way she knew where it was!

Was willing to give the man the benefit of the doubt.  So 9/11 was supposedly from Saudi citizens  yet none of their citizens are banned from America. In fact any Muslim attack on America has never been carried out by the banned countries.

He got voted in in a free election . There was a Glasgow keelie on the radio this morning going on about having protests and having collections to bring back a vet from her holibags in Costa Rica . She was no longer able to fly back via NY because of her owning an Iranian passport , so they raised £4000 in 24 hrs for her . .

That would hurt Mexican firms far more than American consumers by opening the door to cheaper competitors

Mexico will not win this battle with him.

Aye, but the vast majority of Americans are so stupid that they won't realise it.

Not that it'll work anyway - if the price of Mexican imports go up then folk will buy other brands and the tax take will go down. Then Mexico will impose a similar tax on US goods which will mean the profits, and tax paid on those profits, by US companies will go down. It will have a similar effect in Mexico. It will just all result in both countries buying more "home made" stuff which will balance out employment/profits/tax lost due to declining exports.

And the US will have to pay to build the wall.

FFS you beat me to it.

Don't agree with that last sentence.

Mexico needs the USA more than the USA needs Mexico.

Trump will win this battle IMO.

6 times Obama banned Muslims from America. But wait no mass demonstration.  Obama dropped thousands kg bombs on Muslim country's.  So why is the balance not right? I have no idea but these are facts. Trump has got this all wrong in my view but something stinks here. Medi again ?

The campaign against Trump was there, as you know , even before he got the presidency gig. I don't see what the protests in this country hope to achieve. .

There were major protests in this country when Tony said he was going to war but they never made a blind hit of difference. .

There are many examples where organised peaceful protests have made huge differences to our lives.

You only have to cast a gaze over equality and employment legislation to see the effect of peaceful protest.

The difference this time is that there appears to be no focus to these demonstrations.

What is their end goal? Is it realistic or reasonable or are they just angry at not getting their way?

Also, previous successful demonstrations need to identify the more reasonable of the opposition and take these "opponents" with them. That is how to strategically and sustainably win at almost anything. The hardcore 10%-ers need to be isolated and therefore stripped of power and this is how you do it.

Without the help of reasonable middle ground men, women would never have the vote.

Without white people prepared to change the law, slavery would not have been abolished.

The list is endless.

This group of protesters seem to be forgetting these lessons and are demonising all Trump supporters as racists. This is a good sign that their shrieking will fail.

Oh and those supporting independence might want to learn from this as well if they want to shift the rump of No voters from their position.

Not necessarily as it assumes there are cheaper competitors out there. America won't be one of them.

That is going back a bit oakster. .
The party that most protests and petitions in more recent times, was the Socialist Workers Party - if protests worked we'd be living under their standards. .[emoji4]

I edited my post.

The SWP problem is that they fail to take moderate people with them.

Those who take moderates with them usually always win the day.

Of course that means compromise and for the hardcore 10%-ers that is never acceptable but these extreme types are never usually required for things to succeed.
