Eric Arthur Blair
One member has a Samsung S6 edge, another has a J5, yet another has an S7...Samsung seems popular. There's even someone who has a OnePlusOne, whatever the f**k that is. How do I know this? Spoiler Since the mobile app updated yesterday, it has automatically switched on the "display signature" option and your signature will be "sent from my <phone name here> using the Black and White Army app." It can be switched off within the app's settings. pozbaird
I have an entry level Samsung. We have good 02 coverage here, so I went into the 02 shop in Braehed, and got the cheapest contract Samsung phone. I use my phone for emergencies, like if the car breaks down, or I’m needing to call someone urgently. I text people if I need to, I really don’t use it much. The camera on it, even for an entry level model, is bloody brilliant. Someone told me Samsung had decent cameras on em’ so I went for one. Very happy with my phone. It isn’t as good as StuD’s though. His has a hotline to football club boardrooms, the governing bodies of various sporting associations, The Secretary General of the United Nations, Kim Jong Un, NASA, and the now redundant complaints department at Comet PLC. Drew
Edge S6, but don't use the app. Use the mobile site with a Torfason Club membership (so no annoying ads to slow it down). Works very well indeed.
salmonbuddie
Mine's a FIG-LX1 apparently. Was a Huawei P Smart when I bought it but it thinks it knows English better than me. And it just told me that I should've typed "... better than I"...
oaksoft
A ten year old Nokia thing which does phoning and texting only with no touchscreen. Hell will freeze over before I buy anything with more functionality than that. Oh and a massive crack across the screen from dropping it. Isle Of Bute Saint
Edge S6. Amazing to think modern phones are more advanced than past computers. Hope this lasts for many years as no way would I go out a buy the latest phone for a grand or over.

Tell 1952 I was asking after it. What makes you think I have moved away from landlines? As for embracing mobiles, it's quite difficult to use a landline from the side of the road when my car breaks down. What I don't have a use for is a phone which allows me to check for facebook likes. 1952 says she doesn't remember you. It weighs a few grams, fits into my pocket without me really noticing it because it is so small and I only need to charge it every 10 days. Let's hear about your phone in comparison? I am open to persuasion. How might an iPhone7 enrich my life? Edited June 11, 2018 by oaksoft

Truthfully as long as I can Bluetooth ( that's not a dental term) Stream ( that's not water) and Download ( that's not just porn) then I am happy. Modern phones are really tablets with a phone function, and the more powerful the more apps you can have........... saves on Bank/ Credit Cards also, and is all saved in the Cloud, ( which is not really a cloud but a Data Centre) Means u can get Netflix, Amazon, Spotify accessed , as long as u have Chromecast you can straight onto your telly................... its all fun. Remember in our day we needed an imagination, now you just need a good 5.5" phone

I know exactly what I am missing. I am deliberately choosing not to use "smart" phones. Nice patronising response though.

I must have been asleep during my years as a mobile phone stack software engineer. BTW, you have to be absolutely f**king insane to use wireless technology to access your bank account. Absolutely insane. An IT guy should know this is not secure. And using a phone to pay for stuff beggars belief.
