Irony.

Ricky must be back? That's the last person, in a line of a few, that creepy was calling the forum idiot.

UK Government minister announces at 10pm on a Saturday night that those shielding can stop from Monday.

No mention that it's England only.

Says guidance will be available today. Not yet, it's not.

This was meant to happen when we reach level 1. Scientific advisors say we are still at level 4. Government says it's level 3.

GP's latest in a line of specialists hung out to dry by vague weekend announcements.

I'm sure The PM Buffoon will sort it all out when we next see him..

...whenever that might be.

Is he on holiday this week?  Parental leave?  Sick, again?

Abducted by Aliens...?

It's the weekend ffs, he already had to work the holiday Monday last week. Even had to stay on late due to Cummings demanding the tea time slot for his press conference.

Due to an arbitrary redefinition in the method of counting the government reached it's, ahem, target of 200,000 test per day by the end of May yesterday- (205,634 were officially available). The actual number of tests carried out was 127,722 - clearly we live in a post-truth world.

We are now into the post lockdown world with no proper tracking app despite it being an essential component of TTI less than a month ago - good luck to us all!

Today's number, 113.

I don't get why people get their knickers in a twist about data.

The exact numbers are not critical, (within reason) the consistent method will show a trend and give some indication of how the lockdown is working, or not.

Some people are only happy with data that suits their political agenda.

I notice the hyenas are getting desperate today, things must be getting better.

Then again.. Even the pathetic efforts of the Wee man don't come close to those of The Donald. Mind you, the Wee Man likes 5 star hotels I hear. Maybe he reserves a suite at Turnberry and knows The Donald intimately so to speak.

Remember back in the day when you thought you were important, correcting spelling mistakes? :1eye

Now, with the invention of spell check and auto correct,  you've become as good as useless.

You still think the odd auto correct mistake equals a lack of intellect, that's irony. 🤡

Because the more consistent and accurate your data is the better informed your decisions will be, if the data is being recorded in different ways and at different intervals in different parts of the country it effectiveness is reduced, as you say it's merely an "indication of how lockdown is working" it's just another example of this governments slipshod approach to the pandemic - but hey-ho perhaps "the exact numbers are not critical" because at least we've got a "world-beating" track and trace system in place.

Of course the numbers are important

Many of those 113 won’t have been tested. Deaths in care homes and in the community don’t get tested. They can just get put down as ‘presumed Covid’.

Its covering up the fact that people are dying because they’ve shut down the NHS

Track and trace is just a cover to try and reassure folk that it’s safe to go outside again.

They’ll use it to try and pretend that they’ve got the virus under control and that lockdown was necessary.

As I said, people  will believe what suits their agenda.

You're not seriously saying that the data has to be EXACT to be of any use in this situation?

PS I did say within reason, not that suits your agenda. :byebye

9 days to lockdown and SAGE says

It is clear that household quarantining would lead to increased risk of others within the household becoming infected, as described in the modelling”

Yes, you are reading that correct yet. SAGE advise to the government was that lockdown would increase infection.

This is exactly what I said at the start. It was just plain common sense.

On the day of lockdown, SAGE says

SAGE itself has no idea as to how social interventions have affected numbers of cases. The scientific answer could of course be Zero.

  • Lockdown cannot save those many who are expected to die within a year

  • Lockdown will cause excess deaths

The Association of Directors of Public Health have now written to UK government asking them not to lift lockdown until a robust tracing system is in place.

50-90% of Covid infections are asymptomatic

Track and trace can never be robust and can never work

Folk like to point to South Korea but Japan did bugger all testing (and didn’t lockdown) and ended up with the same result as South Korea

It’s a fig leaf for the government to try and pretend that lockdown worked

Stop the killing, end the lockdown

Forget trying to use logic with the Wee Man from Arbroath. All  he is interested in is getting his posts noticed.

Great to see so many people flouting the lockdown this weekend.

Started on Friday with a huge group of kids outside the shops on Braehead Road.

Neighbours having a barbecue this afternoon with more than 1 other household and no social distancing.

And taking the in laws dog for a walk this afternoon in fields round the back, walked past 3 different large groups of kids flouting the rules.

Good on them.

And loving the outrage on social media commenting on all the photos of people flocking to popular spots at the weekend.

End the lockdown.
