All that will change with the arrival of the golf course, athletics track, velodrome, coffee house, fishing pond / salmon leap, changing rooms with showers for holidaymakers with parked cars, aquatic centre, direct monorail link to the airport, five-star hotel complex, and an upgrade to the Buddie Good Food Van's sausage and tattie scone doublers.

Ferguslie is a much improved area from what I remember as a boy. I'm sure more can be done but it looks much better these days.

Yeah. It's the dome that's made the difference [emoji6]

What means deprived area on Radio Scotland , well they talked about all the positives in Ferguslie , housing that has been built with locals taking pride in their gardens, St Mirren's stadium. Deprived takes into a count numbers unemplyed, health, vilance. Renfrewshire council are going to build a sports complex nest to out stadium , get this with a running track. Stuart Dickson will be pleased.

Seriously, looks much better ? It must have been something post apocalyptic before the improvements then. Yet again Paisilee gets a caning, yon Cooncil must be very very proud. At least they are consistent in their unaccountability, all the usual swerving and finger pointing, as per usual.

Anyway, what surprises me about the 'Top Ten' is that Govanhill isn't there. It was there in 2012. Are we to believe that the place has improved in the last four years ? Yerr avvin a giraffe,  some political expedience at play here, hmmmmmmm.

Anyway, Feegie, well  it doesn't really matter cos a mega Sports complex is going in , we're gonna demolish all the hooses.

Nothing to see here, move along then. Damage duly done on Paisilee once again

<_<

When was Feegie redeveloped then ? Don't say when St Mirren relocated

I'm maybe just a tad younger than yourself, however as for my tertiary alcoholic brain degradation, maybe mentally I'm older than you :(

I worked on some of the first batch of targeted house refurbishments in Ferguslie (early seventies), at that time any house that became empty had new bathrooms and kitchens fitted along with re-wiring and new plumbing. It didn't last long though because all the copper pipes, tanks and wiring were gone by the next morning. There were lookouts sitting up on the roofs of houses and they could see and give warning of any approaching polis, at that time the main street had only the one way in and one way out for cars, it was organised crime i witnessed and a severe loss of public money.

Years later i was working on the total refurbishment of all the houses in the Westmarch area where the ground now stands, a street at a time was done up and families moved in straight away, local security guys were employed and not much was nicked at nights, a few years later the houses were knocked down, again a huge loss of public money.

Good. Now can you explain it to me because I haven't a clue what I was talking about. No change there. [emoji4]

First off I'm not saying Ferguslie is perfict. It now has new housing where locals take pride. There is also private housing. It has a doctors surgery. It has a new community centre, it has a pharmacy, it has a learning centre run by West Collage Scotland. It has artifical 5 a side pitches. It has a library. These are all thing not there in my younger days.

I'm sure i read somewhere that if you just divided all the millions that have been thrown at Ferguslie over the years between each of the families there, they would have become overnight Millionaires.

As an aside... the radio the other day, they announced that the total number of Millionaires in Scotland had fallen by 10%... to only 43,000 :o
