Interesting to see Ben Stanway who was linked with both us & Falkirk has re-signed with Thistle for another year as nobody was willing to pay the ÂŖ200k development fee. A good start to the season and he will be available in the January window and at worst his development fee will have dropped in a year's time. Shame for the lad being priced out of a move upwards that everyone assumed he'd get - maybe a sign that clubs are getting more cautious.

A case of the bar getting lowered here to bail out the OF. My earlier theory that the decision to appoint him might help us was clearly bollox!

World Cup 2026
I've been reading these sorta apocalyptic "too far this time" responses to the corporate wheezes of the game's money-men for 30 years now. No doubt we'll end up with a compromise that take us a few more miles down the corporate brick road - almost as if they've got a Masterplan.

Falkirk v St Mirren, Sat 1st Aug
See the Nsio loan deal has been agreed. Two questions I suppose - will the deal be completed in time for the Falkirk game and if so will he start or be on the bench? That might be three questions...đ¤

Saudi Arabia are the latest to join the scrap by bombing Iran supporting militias in Iraq a coupla daze after Ukraine bombed an Iranian ship.. Are these the sides currently? USA + Israel + Ukraine vs Russia + Iran + Shi-ite factions around the Gulf particularly the Houthis in disputed Yemen. Oh, and a whole lot of other "interested" parties potentially about to offer "hauners". Armageddon outa here!

Ida bean shouting for a pen if it'd bean our corner. đââī¸ Never a stonewaller but I reckon it'd be given more often than not. The disallowed goal and the offside called on KP in the second half when it looked like he'd have been 1-on-1 with the keeper were two big calls that went against us. Still reckon it was the triple substitution that did for us! âšī¸

All Sit no Com. There was only one joke which was repeated every coupla minutes - Linda saying something inappropriate like "I can see your mons pubis". Shame as I usually like Diane Morgan. Best sitCOM so far this year is Small Prophets which is still on BBC iPlayer.

He cake đ to us at the start of February when we were 10th in the league. Before JD 20 pts from 23 games = 0.87ppg With JD 14 pts from 15 games = 0.93 At seasons end we were 11th - he was worth a place in our starting line-up so perhaps I'm being unfair but he certainly wasn't a season changer. ****************************** A player who was a season changer for us was Allan Johnston in 2009/10. He only played 10 league games for us where we accumulated 16 pts or 1.6 ppg. Without him we got 18 pts. from 28 games or 0.64 ppg. He should have been our PotS!
