Iael18 reacted to TopCat in Partick Thistle V Super Saints Spfl Premiership 2/5/15
I think if we can just somehow still be in the hunt when Motherwell come to Paisley on the penultimate day of the season... We will have a chance.
Even if we can get the gap to 5 points before then. Say we win at Firhill, lose in Dingwall and Motherwell get 1 point from their next 2 games. That's hardly pie in the sky stuff when you look at recent form and our record at Firhill. We've played 3 league games in Firhill and Dingwall this season and we've won the lot.
Those result means the gap will be 5 points going into our game with them. Win that and it's 2 points and it goes to the last game of the season...

Iael18 reacted to Callum Gilhooley in Club Is Out Of Touch With Support
Nope . Sorry. The fans deal with reality on a daily basis . Our Club , & most others (but not all) seem oblivious to what is actually happening out there .
Reality is, we have had our worst season for years , we have had the worst management for years , we have had the worst league position for years , we have a season to look forward to in a lower division (for how many years , god knows) .....& yet the club behaves as if all is normal. Ships ? I see no ships !!

Iael18 reacted to Gordon Urquhart in Club Is Out Of Touch With Support
The club seems totally out of touch with the support these days.
All official SMFC announcements and social media comments seem to be pretending that nothing has happened and we are not going down the relegation pan. Same 'sumptuous' dinner posts and POTY awards as if everything was just dandy. No end of a crap season ticket offers or goodwill gestures to fans. Just how many paying supporters will go to these last games? Not many and who can blame us?
The comments and abuse this tone of announcement is getting on Facebook, on here and elsewhere is horrific for the club. It's just alienating people and getting theirs backs up. Who is in charge anymore?
Whole club is a shambles unfortunately and needs root and branch change quickly.
Sorry for rant.

Iael18 reacted to class of 76-77 in Billy Davies. Involvement
Why all the hostility toward Billy Davies. He's been watching our home games along with a few other out of work managers. If he's got the financial back up to make a bid for the club, be it alone or as part of a consortium, is this not what everyone wants ? New owners and fresh investment.

Iael18 reacted to pozbaird in Stsnd Up Against The Bullys.
It doesn't matter if Meekings' hand was un-natural, natural, raised, lowered, or up Sooty's arse - there's no debate it was a handball. A handball like a thousand other incidents in other games that was missed by the officials. No different to the officials not seeing Frank Lampard's shot for England in a World Cup game crossing the line. No different to the time an English referee booked a player twice, or was it even three times!?
The difference here is that Celtic, being the perennial victims they think they are, go bleating to the SFA about it after the event. It was a handball incident FFS. An in-match incident that was unfortunate for them, agree on that, but these cnuts are at it.
This is what FIFA's refereeing bloke is saying - handing out retrospective bans for missed in-play incidents like handball is a dangerous road to go down. Both the SFA and Celtic can simply fcuk off in my view.

Iael18 reacted to Mid Calder Saint in Stsnd Up Against The Bullys.
This is the most ludicrous decision by the SFA I can ever remember in over 60years of watching football.Every team gets bad decisions against them and by God we have had a few this season notably against Killie and Well.Every true fan should back Meekings here.

Iael18 reacted to pozbaird in Stsnd Up Against The Bullys.
Surely this opens the floodgates for every club to write letters of complaint to the SFA following every single incident of note that a refereeing team miss? I have no idea if Meekings meant it or not, all I know is the referee and his team missed it and Celtic are cnuts.
Imagine if a 'Joe Jordan handball v Wales' or a 'Maradona handball v England' happened today?

Iael18 reacted to Buddie Marvelous in Come On Ye Saints !
There is no getting away from the fact this has been the season from hell. Terrible decisions made throughout. As fans of our great club it is our right to feel angry, let down, pissed off, frustrated and vent our feelings in the forum and during games. With time running out though, lets get behind the lads and give them our full vocal backing during these important games. Relegation would be a financial disaster for us. Dressing relegation up as a rebuilding proccess is misleading to say the least. So come on felllow Buddies, starting from todays game, C O Y S. !

Iael18 reacted to Drew in St Mirren Bod
This crew have been given an easy ride by many for far too long.
Their stewardship of our club in recent years has been shambolic at best, and verging on negligent.
They could have sold their shares to Gordon Scott - a Mirren supporter - but opted to sit it out for more money. How has that gone?
Cheap, tight, greedy, and arrogant.
Get yourselves to f**k!

Iael18 reacted to buddiecat in Ian Henderson - New Director
Always good to see a new face come in and have some fresh ideas bouncing around the place, Ian being a lifelong saints fan is a great start, thanks for joining Ian, Lets give him as much backing as we can, because he has joined the board at a very difficult time for our club and by doing so has shown he's up for a challenge. Come along to the next SMISA meeting Ian and get other fans views on our situation at present, you can probably notice from various posts on here that we want to be kept informed as much as possible and by doing so you would quickly gain a lot of support from a lot of fans.

I'm finding the lack of respect being shown to Ozzie shocking here. He took a really bad tackle in the first game against Thistle at Firhill and has been playing through the pain from that for us. He then got an even worse tackle in the same place by the same player. I also think this is a big loss to the team on the pitch.

From my understanding Pearse Flynn is due to meet the St Mirren BOD on Friday morning.

Iael18 got a reaction from eastlandssaint in Tess Calls Paisley A Shithole
In the 19th century European production of paisley increased, particularly in the Scottish town from which the pattern takes its modern name. Soldiers returning from the colonies brought home cashmere wool shawls from India, and the East India Company imported more. The design was copied from the costly silk and wool Kashmir shawls and adapted first for use on handlooms, and, after 1820, on Jacquard looms.
From roughly 1800 to 1850, the weavers of the town of Paisley in Renfrewshire, Scotland, became the foremost producers of these shawls. Unique additions to their hand-looms and Jacquard looms permitted them to work in five colors when most weavers were producing paisley using only two. The design became known as the Paisley pattern. By 1860, Paisley could produce shawls with fifteen colors, which was still only a quarter of the colors in the multicolor paisleys then still being imported from Kashmir.
In addition to the loom-woven fabric, Paisley became a major site for the manufacture of printed cotton and wool in the 19th century, according to the Scotland's Paisley Museum and Art Gallery. The paisley pattern was being printed, rather than woven, onto other textiles, including cotton squares which were the precursors of the modern bandanna. Being able to purchase printed paisley rather than woven paisley brought the price of the costly pattern down and added to its popularity. The key places of manufacture for printed paisley were Britain and the Alsace region of France.
