A bit sad to see so many digs at young Reilly on this thread, can't remember him
playing his preferred strikers role this season.....
He's been played out of position although has done pretty well on occasions, but being
part of a poorly managed shite performing team I don't think there's many who have come
out of the TC era with flying colours... so FFS give the lad a break...

To be fair to the BoD - sure, they sold Love Street while Hibs and Aberdeen are still at home - but... If they hadn't sold it, where would we be now? The modern stadium and new training complex we now play in has undoubtably helped impress prospective signings, has become the home of the Scotland U21s, has seen Tommy Doc' win awards and not fight fires every week, and has seen a fresh, clean corporate suite deliver an all-round better experience for those guests. The dome and a huge car park too.
Five years down the line, would our old main stand still be fit for purpose? How much money would have been required to keep the place going? The dressing rooms were decrepit....
I still back the decision to sell Love Street, but my problem is that having done so, five years in our new home and all the benefits I listed above benefit the players, staff, groundsman or corporate guests. We are worse off. We are in smaller public areas behind the stands, we lose catering and toilet facilities when the BoD turn parts of the West Stand over to opposition fans, we broke up the traditional middle-of-the-North-Bank singing area, and we are in a field away from traditional watering holes, and still no fan bar/cafe/meeting area.
The merchandise was better at Love Street, with Provan Sports shop and mobile shop on matchdays.
But hold on... We have bricks with messages on the shoebox walls, so we should doff our caps, eat our gruel and be seen and not heard... Unless it's further ideas from fans, in the shape of individuals or the fan council.

Also meant to add. Reportedly we have the youngest team and smallest (is that the correct word?) wage bill in the league. If I were an investor I'd be looking at the bigger picture. The names you mention above may be worth selling on (I'd only mention McLean and McGinn at this time) where as the likes of Motherwell, Killie and Dundee (as far as I'm aware don't have) Ross County have Roy McGreggor to fund them, but due to his line of business and falling oil prices, he can't sustain that. ICT rely heavily on loans, St Johnstone also seem to be spending more than they're bringing in at the gates. From these points I'd say St Mirren could well be well worth investing in. Just my opinion though.

Teale has already started making enquiries about bringing players in come january, so that he is prepared to make his moves if he is given the gig full time.
Its a tough time for making change as the transfer window only lasts 4 weeks and any new man in place will have to move quick and also assess what is needed.

How's about Fergus McCann, he was a fairly successful overseas investor. Brother Walfrid, make way for baldy McCann.

The confidence, self belief and positivity in our play is amazing considering we were bottom of the league. GT & DL deserve a lot of credit.

Out of Ross Caldwell, James Marwood, Callum Ball and Thomas Reilly. Ball is the only player who has shown signs of potential to be a decent player. When I was at Whitley Bay, the amount of supporters who went up to TC and told him "you better get him signed up before he goes back on the coach" Hopefully he gets a goal to send him on a goal scoring run

Your being a wee bit harsh Yards. The club could have been sold by now , there have been 20 separate enquiries some 'not suitable' others not putting in a bid. Maybe you don't like the current board , fine but at the end of the day they are St Mirren die hard's. A lot of fans would give their right arm to have die hard's run the club. As for Stuart being in South Africa so what ? Is the man not aloud to have a life outside the club. Remember this the guy that fought tooth and nail to save 'YOUR' club and with the rest of the board put up hard cash and signed over houses to save 'YOUR' club.
I work abroad in offshore. I speak to my wife a few times a day, we even video chat. It's almost 2015 mate there are lot's of way's to communicate , the day of the pigeon are truly gone. Lastly 20 different parties have looked at the club with not one making a firm offer even though they said they would. Just imagine Stuart cancelling his holiday each time someone came to look at the club.

Bolton are about £170M in debt. Can't see them getting into a bidding war.
I think if we can get 250-300k with future add ons we should accept and that'll let us get in a few players.

Am i missing something here?.....was Gary Teale on the park, playing as a defender passing the ball back to the keeper?
That is like you make an arse of something at work and blaming your boss for it.

    1. Ability to identify the weakest areas in our current squad and rectify them (to the best of their ability) at transfer windows.
    2. To be tactically aware enough not to have the pish ripped out of them by Alex Neil, Jackie McNamara, Paul Hartley, Tommy Wright.....
    3. Not to stand for any shite, and to command respect from the players.
    4. Be able to get supporters onside by not being a total fanny in interviews and talking shite after games.
    5. Give us a side to be proud of that can aspire to be more than perennial relegation fodder.

Steady Div... That would take massive investment levels. A self-adhesive print of Basher with some text to complete the existing 'Ludo Roy' panel, and the addition of a new panel featuring DVZ with two spaces for the next two additions.
It's crazy to think an undertaking like this can be achieved in the current Scottish football climate.

Maybe it was 'negative' to say our ground is in an 'undesireable' area, we don't have players of great value, the stadium and training complex are done and dusted... but as someone else said, it's all true.
It begs the questions, in big, huge, bold letters, posed in the direction of any possible buyers, Scottish, Argentinian, or Klingon... What's in it for you....Why St Mirren...How is this being funded...What are your plans...Who are you....You urnae' St Mirren fans.
Basically, everything asked of REA. Asked again.

One things for sure he must have a lot of contacts with young players when you look at his Wikipedia page.Set up his own youth academy in Spain. Where a number have graduated to play professional in England and Spain.
Youth team coach at Bristol Rovers and Bolton.
Certainly worthy of consideration I would think.

I tend to agree Teale should be given a chance. The argument that because he's not long qualified as a coach must mean he can't be any good doesn't hold water for me. I have been coached and coached at various levels in football and other sports and some of the best I have seen had zero formal qualifications. Of course experience is valuable, but you don't need to be old to be wise and nouse and enthusiasm count too. He could be a natural coach and there's no doubt about his playing credentials. I'd be more concerned about the change in relationship from team mate to manager but hardly a deal breaker. At the end of the day the real problem we have is the general weakness of the squad which I can't see being sufficiently strengthened in January.

I can see the point in this after offering a clown a two year contract first time round , but to I think that we should appoint someone that can generate a fighting spirit within the team , and also identify the type of players we need to survive in this league , or if we are relegated be able to be part of a side able to challenge for promotion , we have to see the appointment as a three year plan , rather than a six month plan.
