It is up to the Club to anticipate the estimated size of the Crowd.
Simply, Dunfermline should have made it CASH AT THE GATE as their new TICKET SYSTEM was not tested correctly.
Also sufficient Turnstiles should have been opened from 2pm.
For any Championship match, fans should be able to arrive at anytime and expect to be admitted within minutes.
    DUNFERMLINE ARE 100% TO BLAME.
ALL FANS ARE INNOCENT AND WERE TREATED DISGRACEFULLY.

Music gig is a shite comparison.
They would have turned up with a pre-purchased ticket for an allocated seat.

I know you wrote that its the partly bit i dont get. I was also there at 2pm. Normaly i enyoy a beer or two or three before a game and turn up at 10 min before kick off never been late for a game yet for me its part of going to the football and chatting with fellow fans , its quite enjoyable you should try it. Pubs not only sell alchol you can get tea , coffee and something to eat, watch a live game. Its also warm with toilets with soft toilet paper pubs have moved on its 2017Had Dunfermline did their part by sending tickets to Paisley problem solved. Falkirk fans had the same problem as us. The mentality at East End Park is from being in the seaside league with low volume visiting fans.

Turned up up at 2.45pm and got in at 3.15pm. Not my fault that Dunfermline didnt bother to tell us of their ticketing plans. Think its harsh to have a go at fans.  Only 1 turnstyle opened at 3pm for hundreds of folk.  If Dunfermline had stuck their avertised policy of patg and opened  4 or 5 gates  as  it would normally then it wouldnt have been an issue.. Dunfermline have made a right arse  of it.

In terms how fans get buy tickets football clubs are still living in the dark ages.

Sorry we missed you Ian.  The Elizabethan was a brisk 10 minute stroll away except for maybe the "the old obese f**ker at the back of the stand screaming at the ref "  that oaky mentioned who may have done it in 20 barring heart attacks, seizures etc. We kept a seat for you and your good lady but it turned out the organisation at pub was run by the same crew that were stewarding the ground.
At 1.15pm we were told they couldn't take any more food orders because people had sat at the two big tables and they were dealing with their order first. Maybe it was the old obese F**ker and his mates who had ordered an awful lot of food but It was quite bizarre that a pub/restaurant that clearly advertises its speciality in serving food couldn't cope when lots of tables were spare. It wasn't football traffic they were turning away, it was old wrinkly regulars who looked like they had eaten there every Saturday for the last 70 years.  Maybe Dunfermilne is a really quite place that is only able to cope with crowds smaller than 4 men and a dug.
Anyway after meeting our friends and having a small refreshment we did the 10 minute brisk walk having chosen to leave it late. Why sit in a poxy football stadium watching an empty pitch staring at obese old F**kers when you can have a pint instead. A day out at the football is not just about the football for some of us. If our entry had been delayed because of like minded supporters and I missed the start. Fair do's I would accept that. It's a risk of the strategy I adopt.
The reason most of us missed the start of the match was not because of the time we turned up but because the stewards were inept. The system the club had employed was seriously flawed and the chief stewards couldn't deal with a situation and system that was clearly adding to the problem. Fans who's tickets didn't open the turnstiles were being sent by the turnstile operator (not really a good description of someone who couldn't open an automated turnstile) to the steward who would open another gate, tear the stub from their ticket and let them in manually.
About 1 in 5 tickets didn't work which meant every one behind the stranded defunct ticket holder had to back out the turnstile and move back the queue to get out. This was even more complicated if the said useless ticket holder was was an old obese F**ker.
The organisation was a complete shambles and the chaos was exacerbated by inept leadership amongst the stewards who would have been better deployed at gates tearing off ticket stubs instead of watching people sometimes going through turnstiles that didn't work 20% of the time.
Being late wasn't the problem. The issue was Dunfermilne FC ,who like the Elizabethan weren't geared up to deal with anything more than the statutory 4 men and a dug and if they had been the only ones who had turned up and they had deviated from their normal routine, let's say the dog stopped for a pish at a different spot than normal, it would probably have flummoxed the head steward and two of the men and probably the dug would have missed the start of the match as well.
The only thing more pathetic than the stewarding fiasco was Oaksy's suggestion than late coming fans are somehow inferior to the punctual ones like him, unless they are old, obese f**kers of course.

We arrived at 2-45 plenty of time to get in joined long queue which didn't move got into ground so 3-30 absolute disgrace if it was "pay at the gate " then the gates should have been manned nothing to do with the result I also want to complain but who to ??? Before half time went down to pie stall to be told there was no hot food what a joke dunfermline football club should be ashamed they might be top of league FOR NOW but bottom in organisation

Great post when it says "pay at the gate " I expected to get to ground wait in MOVING queue pay and get in not have to wait in one queue for ticket then join second long NOT MOVING queue to get in so your right an apology should be the least we should get which we won't as Dunfermline Stewart's seemed to think we had nothing to complain about

It was hardly a "large crowd" FFS! The gate was just over 6,600!

How realistic is it to turn up to a Scottish Championship match and take 40 minutes to get into the game?

That mob should get a serious fine for that. It's an utter disgrace what they did yesterday.

I agree and also have our stewards walking about not knowing what to do and when the fans get a bit impatient and upset at having to miss half the game without explanation or apology think it's a great idea to bring up police who were armed how frightening for any kids in queue and a disgraceful way to treat away fans paying full price for half a game

Makes you wonder if Dunfermline done this on purpose so that we were not in the ground to support our team. We should treat their support the same when they next visit, only open one gate and have it break down, let them stand outside for 45 minutes!

GLS and Tony Fitzpatrick will be dealing with this i have no doubt. If anyone can talk Jack into remaining with us it's those two... Dundee's only advantage over us is the league they're in, there's nowt else attractive about that job. Stay at St Mirren and become a legend Jack!

And Jack Ross has a two year deal with Saints, what's the difference?
Could everyone please stop quoting the couple of fuds that seem to be jumping for joy at something potentially going wrong for us.  I have them on ignore for a reason.
Would be poor form for JR to jump ship.  GS showed enough loyalty to make clear Ross would be our manager if we went down to League 1.  He has brought in players like McGinn and Eckersley who wanted to work specifically with him and given them contracts the same length as his own.  Dundee are not the next level he should be aiming for.
Still, if he goes we just try and recruit well.  St Mirren should be challenging for the league title next season no matter who is in charge.

How come the floodlights were not switched on at half time? Our second goal was scored in virtual darkness
Great to have a home win. Tony Fitzy 100 per cent win record as CEO.

Ah back to this soul - destroying, mind numbing, shite playing with a defensive set up against a team happy to sit in with 11 men behind the ball and shit fest, kick, scrape and dive at every oppertunity to get a point, how we have fallen from grace so drstically really does hurt me and make me very angry and home games are a real wrench these days.

good grief, all the Saturdays this season we hoped, craved and desired a win and performance like that, all the times I went out running and hoped to come back to us leading or even scoring a goal and just NOTHING......and there it is today....most probably far too late but nice to get it though....very nice.

There is no getting away from the fact this has been the season from hell. Terrible decisions made throughout. As fans of our great club it is our right to feel angry, let down, pissed off, frustrated and vent our feelings in the forum and during games. With time running out though, lets get behind the lads and give them our full vocal backing during these important games. Relegation would be a financial disaster for us. Dressing relegation up as a rebuilding proccess is misleading to say the least. So come on felllow Buddies, starting from todays game, C O Y S. !
