They've already had a guard of honour and the trophy. It would be entirely feasible that a club with Sevco's budget could have won the championship with seven or more games still to play - would they expect multiple guards-of-honour at these games?
Surely with Alloa being in line to perform the duties, those duties have been discharged and we can just get this fixture over and done with and put this season into Room 101?
Some of our players would be unable to applaud them on anyway. They'd have sneaked their iPhones into their shorts pocket so they could grab a photo of their heroes running out the tunnel and tweet about it before kick off.

Whether you like it or not Stuart, in a Scottish footballing context the Union flag has different connotations than it has flying from a public building, as you well know.
As a Scotsman who doesn't consider himself British in the slightest and would love to see Scotland independent the Union flag does annoy me. It has so much baggage surrounding it that it's no longer just a flag but represents so many different things. If you can't deal with that then that's your problem.
As usual you have totally missed the point. Saints fans aren't pissed off that our players support other teams, they're pissed off at the disrespect the thoughtless actions of some individuals on social media has caused. Simple education of our players and I'm sure they would understand.

No need for a complete ban on Social Media.What is needed is to educate players on what is acceptable to post.
I find it amazing that anybuddie can find it acceptable for players to post their love and support for a club that we are playing in less than 2 weeks.I'm not for a minute suggesting the 2 players will give less than 100%,if selected,but any mistakes they may make in that game gives our Fans ammunition to suggest otherwise.
If players don't like it then tough,don't sign for us.

Listening to some Saints fans opinion on youth players is very dubious at the moment as these are the same fans who didn't rate current Scotland internationals John McGinn and Kenny McLean. We always seem to be harsher on our own players coming through.

No they shouldn't. It's March. It's still wet and cold and the current season still has seven or eight games to go plus all cup finals.
My view? It should be ready to be worn and unveiled by St Mirren in the final home game of the season. The club should have shitloads of it set up for sale post-match in a hired marquee at the ground and in the club shop. Players should pop in post-game for photos and autographs for the kids.
Still, difficult to do that when you turn your team's final day finale over to another club to party on down.

Drew, the way he took his goal at Ibrox had me genuinely excited that we had a player on our hands. With the players we have I dont believe we're a million miles away fronm being a good side. I blame Murray 100% for where we are.

With the players we have, we should be doing better. A team with the spine of Langfield, Webster, Goodwin and Thommo should not be fighting relegation from the Championship.
We need to be hard to beat, first and foremost. Then we use Thommo properly by playing off him and getting balls into the box for him to attack. Getting him to run the channels is pointless as he doesn't have the legs anymore. Play to your teams strengths.
We have Gallagher to run defenders ragged the way Kean used to and Mallan in midfield chipping in some goals. I also think if Howieson was given a run and some belief instilled in him by his manager, he would be a cracking player.

He underestimated what it took to manage a full time team like St Mirren which is incredibly naive for someone who played in England and was an international player. He mucked up at the very start of his Saints career and is too far gone to fix it. Only problem is who do we bring in?
