Its interesting poking the hornets nest of questioning anything on "Captain Fantastic". At no point did I think for a minute or have said in any way that McGinn didn't have a decent game yesterday, he was fine. My issue is that all of a sudden because we beat a poor St J side he is  the answer to why we haven't been picking up results !
He isn't and IMO dropping Flynn to keep him in the team is a mistake but many will disagree I guess. We badly lacked pace in midfield last season, we have a lot more of it this year with Flynn, Foley and Macgennis in there, McGinn is a step backwards

Superb effort from Murray today to cap off a fine and productive week. 
Did amazingly well to dig in during the 2nd set while a set and a break down and on the verge of losing another break. 
3rd set swung back and forth but he never gave up. A remarkable effort to win a trophy given where he's come from. 
Up to 127 in the world now. He's jumped a huge number of places in the ATP rankings this week.

Indeed, as I pointed out yesterday at HT, St.J had a couple of half chances, that, bar one fairly routine save, didn't even trouble Hladky.
Against Motherwell, we couldn't have complained if we had been three or four down at half time, as we were torn a new one. Yesterday, was entirely different.
 
 

I've not seen him , that's why I asked the question . Saw the highlights of the Wrexham game and he looked quite decent and had a bit of pace about him . Was wondering how he is coming on in the reserves .

Before we scored we looked as if we were heading for another defeat.
Being positive is good but think you're getting carried away IOBS.I still cant believe the St J player put that one by the post from close range.
Anyway,victory from the jaws of defeat is pleasing.

We were crap first 30 mins
The big yin scored a real striker goal and the team got a lift
I thought it was a poor game with one real bit of quality with our second goal
The passing,cross and movement in the box finished by a fantastic top bin
Danny Mullen doesn't do shite goals
All the ones saying McGinn strolled it that might be case as that's his pace at the moment
Our engine room still needs to do more and room for a big improvement in that department

Was at the game and then watched it again on BBC Alba. Not a great game (ball spent too much time in the air), but definitely a great and much-needed result for the Buddies.
St. Johnstone might have been two or three up before we scored, but after Obika's great overhead kick, the Saints in blue faded badly. Heads seemed to go down, like a club at the bottom of the league. I expected them to rally at the start of the second half, but that never materialised. Buddies controlled the remainder of the game and produced the one really fluent move of the game. Great through pass from Broadfoot to McGinn. Ball crossed with pace and an outstanding controlled finish from wee Danny. Hope his injury is not too serious.
Wasn't sure about putting S. McGinn back in for such an important game, but he did fine and Flynn might not be selected next week, if fit. Andreu was a bit of a mixture, not very good in the first half, but really up for it in the second. Obika had an excellent game, even apart from his goal. Real commitment in going after everything and a fantastic leap and flick on to Mullen when wee Danny shot against the post. When Morias came on, he ran about a lot without achieving very much. Foley was very solid, settling well into the midfield. Great effort from all the others. Goodwin obviously fired them up at half-time. If it can be maintained, this form will surely have us in a safe position in the league.
Mullen given MoM on TV, but it could equally have gone to Obika or Foley.

Right, i now realise i am officially the jinks and the reason why we have no won many games this season. I have attended every league game this season except the Aberdeen game and today's game due to work commitments. For everyones sake i really should stay away more often, however im sorry to report i will be at Killie next week....

They were the better side for opening half hour and we were struggling to get a foothold in the game but the goal changed everything.

We suddenly had a spring in our step and we’re driving forward. Obika was a handful and Magennis and Foley were excellent. Needless to say we were defensively solid and big Kirky looks like he could play another 10 years at this level.

It’s a good three points and we need to take encouragement from it for the coming matches.

Thought we were good second half. Controlled the game, scored one more, should have scored two or three more. Easy and well deserved three points in the end.

Thought Broadfoot was fantastic (again) and Mullen and Obika, a goal each from our two starting strikers, what more you want?

Our home record has actually been good this season. Five games, two wins two draws one defeat, one goal conceded, which was a wonder free kick against Rangers.

We need to improve going forward and on the road, but overall there is clearly progression under Goodwin. We are 9th and that’s about where we should be, higher than we were at any point last season.

Thought the visitors were a disgrace, second half particularly. I’ve seen a lot of St Johnstone teams over the last 20 years but that has to be the worst. I was expecting them to come out all guns blazing second half and really put us under pressure. They didn’t, they didn’t look interested and rolled over, pathetic. Unless there is major changes at that football club they will finish 12th. I hope there isn’t.

The difference the million Scottish votes could have made is...
... a reversal of the result.  A million less brexit and a million more remain.  And THAT would be quite definitive, quite a huge difference.
