I think you should go to the game if it is possible for you to go.In your lifetime, people will come and go , friends come and go , jobs come and go , partners come and go , but the one thing in your life that doesn't change is 'your' team.
Supporting St Mirren is a 'relationship' there are times they will frustrate and annoy you , the will inevitably let you down , they will occasionally give you reason to feel happy and on rare occasions very happy.
The last 10 years ? You enjoyed getting promoted to top flight , you had reason to attend 2 national cup finals in 3 years , a relegation, a selection of highs and lows and in that time many players and managers have left 'your' club. One thing did NOT change during that time - YOUR SUPPORT, oh yes you've felt let down but it's your club , your team , your passion, spend that £20 , go watch St Mirren and you will enjoy a win and a better weekend for it !
Now is 'your' time - live it , love it , watch St Mirren.

Having been the custodian of a season ticket for several years, circumstances dictated around 3 years ago, that I had to give it up.
Whilst, I have attended most home league games, particularly on a Saturday, I am now in the "privilaged" position to decide whether or not to hang on to my cash.
With the team performances being particularly - Erm - "shite", the rush from work on a midweek night, the fact it's on the telly, & skimming me for a £20 note the week before payday, can anyone sell this to me?
Would love to hear a sales advisor try & pitch this one! - Ultimately, why should I??

During all of Danny's reign there were very few times fans actually sang his praise so i really don't see why we should be singing his praise tomorrow. By all means a generous round of applause but that is more than enough and then we need to get behind the current team.

That's a total cop out. If prices are too high vote with your feet.
I agree with you that it's too expensive but meekly shuffling along and opening your wallet every week is ensuring the problem never gets fixed.
You need to do what you can control.

There were plenty of world class Scottlsh players in the 60's and 70's who couldn't trap a ball or string together a couple of passes. The difference was back then the club managers played to their strengths. Can you imagine John McCormack, John Greig, Gregor Stephens, Roy Aitken, Walter Kidd, or even big Gordon McQueen playing some of the tippy tappy football of today? Those guys were there to do a job and more often than not they did it well despite the fact the only way they'd do five or more keepy uppy's was if the ball happened to hit them on their face as they lost control.
Scottish Football is a victim though, of poor leadership, bad management and an unhealthy obsession with signing extremely average players, particularly from England. The immediate assumption appears to be that if they can get a regular game from Gateshead they are good enough for the Scottish Premiership. Unfortunately clubs like St Mirren prefer to sign their players off You Tube and the back of an agents tip off, than to actually have scouts out and about in Scotland watching what is going on in the local game. As a result we have a self fulfilling prophesy in that if our transfer market is in players where the only competition is from clubs in the Conference - the quality and standard of our game sits no better than that of the Conference!
As for the original topic - it's a bollocks argument to claim St Mirren are suffering because of strict financial controls imposed by the board. No matter how you carve it up St Mirren have a much larger support than clubs like Dumbarton and Livingston and a far larger cash turnover - yet over the last few weeks the St Mirren side has been outplayed, out fought and out thought by both of those clubs. St Mirren were also damned lucky to win, eventually, against Berwick Rangers and Annan - two more clubs operating on a budget that truly is shoestring compared to St Mirren.
Sadly, despite it being early days, it looks like Murray has been yet another catastrophic managerial appointment by a consortium of board members. This one doesn't even appear to have any contacts anywhere in the English Premiership to help bail him out. And yet still St Mirren continue to charge English Premiership prices at the gate. No wonder customers are being turned off.

This is my first post. I have lurked for a while now, but you and a couple of others saying you will never go back reminded of my experience a while ago. I have not been back there for about thirty years except to see Scotland v Sweden a number of years ago. I am a 'proddy' although not been in a church for many years. I went to see saints at ibrox and went to the main stand with my 'tim' best mate as I thought they might slightly more civilised there. Iwas sadly mistaken at very angry and embaressed.
Anyway, signs of green shoots tonight. Some of our young guys look promising and might get the chance to develop in the championship. Feeling a lot happier about our prospects after tonight. Anyone else think the pass to the wide man for their third goal might have been offside?

A British entertainment legend, no doubt. I read her autobiography a few years ago. The first half was a brilliant read with tales of Liverpool, the 60s and the Beatles. Some great tales. The middle bit was all about her glory days as the Queen of teatime TV, and the latter part saw her very bitter as her shows had the plug pulled on them. I don't think she took too well to the shifting sands under her feet and she came over as being very Billy Big Baws - how dare they axe my shows, don't they know I'm Cilla the Queen of light entertainment...
Anyway... for a long while she really was the Queen of light entertainment, fair do's.
    RIP.

Correct, the BBC does not actually facilitate the coverage of the major sporting events in the UK or anywhere else anymore. They are generally speaking 'pooled' pictures via a 'host broadcaster' concept, which in itself is normally a put together quango like OpenTV, Olympic Broadcasting Services, Formula 1 or in Glasgow last summer 'Sunset & Vine' who also have a hand in BBC Scotland's Scottish Cup and Shinty coverage, to meet the BBC's indie produced quotas, as required by the BBC Charter, aka 'the puppet masters'...
