You should get yourself down to St Mirren Park as it seems you know more than the coaching staff and the management team. Zzzzz !

Or simply to have versatile squad strength and depth?
We've several players who can comfortably play in more than one position which is great IMO.

The Club wishes to win everything. ( League, Scottish Cup & League Cup )
In reality, we can win both Cups and we could possibly finish 2nd in the League.
In trying for the above, the Club must budget sensibly.in relation to a hardcore support of around 2800 fans.
Therefore no overspending or we will f*cking die.
    STOP BEING A TRUMPET !
    THANKS !!!

    Paul mcgowan is certainly talented
    however
he had no real fixed position. He's not a central midfielder, a winger nor a striker. He therefore had to play behind Steven Thompson. This effectively means 1 up front and no pace
as ftof points out, he slowed attacks down
getting shot of mcgowan and bringing in marwood and Caldwell is a big improvement imo
add in wylde's pace and Kenny mcleans runs, we will hopefully be far more direct

Twitter away and fly off where your verbal filth is appreciated. Are you out of nappies yet? Doesn't sound like it from the quality of your childishly immature rot.

I agree with all the posts above who talk about a balance, and I agree that the squad at the moment is reasonably well balanced - although we are still short of a few, and I hope Goodwin and Teale still have their 'playing heids' screwed on. We'll need both of them as players first and foremost this coming season to add experience to the squad.
We needed a CB, we got Plummer. We needed back up for Thommo, we got Marwood. We needed to sort out the goalies, we did - early too. We got McLean signed up as a nice 'bonus'. McGinn could stay too. So far, TC seems to be doing the right things at the right pace. Two or three new faces to round out the squad and I'll be relaxed about going into a season without Hibs, Hearts, The Sevco, and Dundee and Accies coming up.
Top six is ours, I tell ye!*

Cheesy is always the one that gets picked on.
The lad is un-recognisable from the jittery player we got back from Queen of the South.
He very rarely makes a mistake but when he does he gets absolute dogs abuse for it.
Darren McGregor made plenty of mistakes at the back yet was hardly ever criticised.
Can't understand why he still cops so much abuse from sections of the support. Very decent, very capable player IMO.

You can be a dissenting voice that puts up arguments to points, don't think any one has a problem with that.
However, just being negative for the sake of it is a tad boring.

For the avoidance of doubt the manager is given a budget to work with.
This budget is the amount of money the club can afford to spend on players wages after it forecasts it's income and costs over the next 12 months.
The forecast is based on the worst case scenario, ie two defeats away from home in both cup competitions in the first round and the lowest league finish that doesn't mean relegation.
This budget is then given to the management team to spend however they see fit.
So, for example If they wanted to pay one player £5k a week or 5 players £1k a week, it's entirely up to them.
The budget will be purely based on WHAT WE CAN AFFORD.
I love the comments like "tight bastards", "skinfllints", "cheapskates".
Have Hearts, Rangers, Gretna, Dundee, Dunfermline and Livingston really taught us nothing ?
ps; This is nothing to do with Brian Caldwell, this is entirely my thoughts !

Let's be honest at his age and his injuries he'd be daft not taking that money? Decent player but no way worth those wages! And TCFKAR wonder why they are in the shit

Do the administration cheats actually win though? Dundee enjoyed assembling a team of Ravanelli types with Argentinian flair players - dropped like a stone and generally floundered around with poor teams doing hee-haw in Division 1. Livingston won the League Cup, finished third, sampled European football... Then also 'did a Dundee' and dropped way down from the artificial heights they scaled by spending money they didn't have. Unlike Dundee, they haven't managed a brief return to the top flight at all.
Dunfermline are in the shitter floundering in lower leagues too. Signing guys from Ayr United on wages they probably can't afford again won't turn them into Barcelona - it just makes them look like the cnuts they are... again. Hearts won the odd Scottish Cup and were high SPL finishers, but to be frank, a club like Hearts could have won a couple of cups and finished high in the league every year without Vlad's madness. Now they are in the shitter, if Ann Budge hadn't won the day they could be dead, and they now face a tough 'Division 1'with Hibs, Sevco, and decent sides like Falkirk.
The Sevco - I don't need to say much about just how deep in the shite they are. The one that sticks in my craw' is Motherwell. They never dropped down, but played the administration card and shipped out people, but in what seemed no time at all, are still up the top of the league and their fans act the billy big baws about being Scotland's 'second force' and playing in Europe.
Where has Portsmouth and Leeds billy big baws act seen them end up? No, I'm not so sure that the cheats do win out. Despite my frustration with so many aspects of the way St Mirren potter around like a wee corner shop without knowing a good idea if it hit them in the face - undeniably the 'steady as she goes' path has been proven to be the right one for the longer term prospects of the club.
Some clubs had their day in the sun on Wonga credit... where are they now really? We have had our days in the sun too - two national cup finals, winning one and losing one, reaching semi finals, and staying in the top flight for season after season. Things could be a lot, lot worse.
