Two of the victims were lifelong Newcastle United fans travelling 1/2 way across the world to support their club kn apre-season friendly. I can think of umpteen St Mirren fans who, given the opportunity, would show exactly the same commitment to watch our team. I can understand and empathise with the NUFC fans who have set up an unofficial shrine to these two popular lads outside St James's Park. I hope someone within our club has sent a message of condolence to this club with whom we have recently built up a close relationship.

Last night was a terrific result for football in general, destroying the Brazilian myth. Wasn't it wonderful to see David Luiz finally realise that he is a big diddy not a mega-star ? Chelsea got lucky offloading that turkey just before the WC began.
Also a great result for Spain, Portugal and England as it draws focus away from their humiliations during the tournament.

100% supporting Costa Rica purely because of how much I despise Robben. I'm really disappointed that no one in the Netherlands camp has come out and criticised Robben for his blatant cheating. Another meh game....most underwherlming World Cup for me ever. Just my opinion mind you.
