Wilbur got a reaction from shull in So Farewell Then White And Gillespie
A post in respect of Davie White. My old dad (1925-1974) was a Clyde supporter and respected old Davie W. White was a left sided midfielder back in the mid 60s and captain at Clyde. He retired as a player and became their manager and within a couple of seasons took them to 3rd place in the old 1st division. They ought to have qualified for Europe but were denied entry to the old Fairs Cities Cup (a predecessor of the Europa Cup) because of a technicality (Rangers finished 2nd and took the only spot the city of Glasgow could qualify for, Hibs finished 4th and qualified in Clyde's place). White was appointed as Rangers manager on the back of his success at Clyde. White's achievements at Ibrox were overshadowed by Stein's Celtic, the best club side ever in Scotland. His "failure" at Ibrox overshadowed his success at one of this country's diddy teams, an achievement that should be White's ultimate legacy. RIP Davie.

Wilbur got a reaction from Griff in Danny Says No More Signings
I am concerned that we will be over-reliant on two ageing players (Thomson & Teale), either of whom (or both) could find 2013/14 to be one season too far for old legs. There's a helluva long time between this transfer window shutting and the January window opening. I hope the BoD is not banking on a 15 point cushion being our lifebelt, especially as two teams may be relegated.

Memories, memories... So we lost out on McInally due to Aspinall being a fanny, we lost out on Ronaldinho due to an administrative delay, we lost out on Ian Harte due to a toilet stop at Gretna services, and we lost out on Craig Beattie due to Hearts being cheating non-paying administration bound bawbags. Hmm. Just a shame Steve Archibald couldn't have had a minor car crash or something on the way to the airport.

Since Andy Murray's win at Wimbers does that now make Morton's wait to win the Renfrewshire Cup the longest unfulfilled sporting achievement ? Could lightning strike twice ?

With Poyet being live on national tv, the timing of the sacking announcement cannot be a coincidence. Obviously done this way to inflict maximum embarrassment on Poyet. No matter what his "crime" may have been this act shows up some horrible, small-minded people in charge at Brighton.

I haven't been on this thread for a while, so my apologies if this has already been mentioned - I believe the "Craig" of Milne Craig (previously Milne Craig & Corson, I think) was Yule Craig, formerly chairman of St Mirren FC.

Why the feck does this merit a thread on this site ?
Shug played for SMFC for a while, but now he's gone elsewhere.
If the tackle was a bad 'un that makes him a Partick Thistle thug. Nothing to do with us.
Nothing to see here.

Oh dear, a Morton player copped a sore one. I am very sad. I hope you're giving them pelters over on www.PartickThistleWhoTheF*ckCares?.com. Nothing to do with a St Mirren fans' site. Ovaltine mate, Horlicks is for losers.
