Wilbur got a reaction from Eddy in So Farewell Then .... Seamus Heaney
Irish poet, gone aged 74.
He wrote his rhymes to earn a crust
But now he’s deid, he’s bit the dust
I’m not familiar with his verses
So let’ s be grateful for small mercies

Apart from the glorious silverware the one positive thing about DL's tenure has been the 'passing' experiment. Praised by our fans and the media we really looked to be going places for a while. At times this was really good to watch, but most of the time it took place in our own half, passing the ball across the field and going nowhere. Ultimately the tangible success of the passing game was negligible. Opponents grew to understand how to play against this style and suddenly we were just Fancy Dans holding possession and achieving absolutely nothing. The passing experiment now appears to have been binned and on Saturday against Thistle we resorted to Gus's 'long ball' game. Not only was this ploy utterly unsuccessful it was as dull as ditchwater for the spectators. Actually it was embarrassing to watch. Desparation has taken over from tactics and enough is enough.

The record in the league means his position has become untenable. The home form is atrocious no matter how you look at it. The team performance is rotten and its not as if we have a particularly poor side either, it shouldn't be grubbing around the way it is. The team selection is wonky and the treatment of some of the players has been extremly dubious, particularly one or two of the senior ones. No idea why the likes of Mair has been treated like this, he made it clear he wanted to hang around and now he's frozen out in spite of the defence looking less than solid. There could well be stuff going on we dont know about but from the outside it looks poor.
Maybe a new manager will make better use of this squad. Maybe not. But it feels like its all over for him. A shame, I liked him fine, he did deliver a very rare bit of success but the bread and butter stuff has been a shocker. I don't feel very exercised about this one way or another really, almost feels like I dont care and I havent felt like this about football before. Maybe a new guy will freshen it all up again, but it will be tough for them to wait until the transfer window to try and shuffle things if they want to. The club feels like its bobbing around in the water just now. We might go down, we might not, but this decision will affect the club for a year or more and it needs to be done right and not in a panic.

Wilbur got a reaction from Bud the Baker in Feeling Rather Positive Today...................
The only reason I can think of to feel better than 24 hours ago is that there is one fewer game remaining with DL in charge.

Whether booing has a negative effect or not it stops when you win.

If you pay money for services or entertainment and feel you are not getting your monies worth do you not have the right to voice your dissatisfaction?
People have been cheering and booing at the football since its inception, kill that passion and we might as well play behind closed doors and watch it on the tv.

Clearly this run of results is not a blip. We are spinning downwards out of control, the players have totally lost confidence in themselves and the manager, our next victory could coincide with the next sighting of Halley's comet, and Danny Lennon is not the man to fix it. The BoD must delay no more, he has to go immediately.

Wilbur reacted to Sonny in Stephane Bahoken
Newton was poor in his first 45 mins with us and turned out to be pretty decent.
Poor Bahoken only landed at Glasgow last night and I am sure he had to look at a map to see where the hell Paisley was located. The guy is only 21 and hasn't been playing regularly but thrown straight into a game as our savior. Give him a break FFS

Good point oaksoft, our BoD have chosen some belters over the years. They have a lot to answer for when you look at how well teams like Motherwell, St Johnstone and ICT have done in recent years. As you correctly allude to we always end up with duffers.

I like a bit o' verse
But now Seamus is in the hearse
We have to change our plans
And rely on our Buddie fans
They may not be as good
But it changes the mood
Cause this site has been shite
Now's the chance to put it right
A bit o' laughter and banter
To gie us all a smiley chanter

Not necessarily the one I would have preferred to return to Cowdenbeath.

Wilbur got a reaction from Luther G. Presley in The Worst Thing About Last Night’S Defeat?
I see you are playing the "I'm a better supporter than you are" card, Greig. Aye, some of our so-called supporters are just clowns that travel to Inverness, Dingwall and Dumfries hoping to see us lose. Should we interpret your post as inferring that you would never call on our BoD to sack a manager ? Is there no stage at which you would acknowledge that a change of leadership is required ? Would DL still have your support if we lose our next 3 league games ? What about if we lose our next 6 games ? Or 10 games ? Still back him or call for his head ?

You forgot to mention,
He was part of the Scotland set-up under Craig Levein, surely the most disastrous period in our nation's football history (worse than under Herr Volks).
He refused to take a pay cut at Tannadice, where he would have been earning a load more than we would offer.
He also drinks in my local pub in Glasgow East.
