If you could combine Morias' strength, speed and application with McAllister's talent, you'd have one hell of a player on your hands. Shame.

I cannot believe the same people (mainly Ronnie) are even comparing Gavin Reilly to Brophy and praising him over Brophy, lets do a quick compare
Brophy - Scotland International and played at all levels of U21's, league - Scottish Prem , goals 2018 - now 26 in 84 games (1 in 3)
    Gavin Reilly - never played any level for Scotland, League - EL1/2, goals 2018 - now 9 in 82 (1 in 9)

Its not even the comparison that irks me but the writing off of a player before he even kicks a ball for us

As I said before no matter what the club do some people are never happy

A few pens in here  , but some of the other finishes are sublime , as was his goal last season v Rangers ! No matter what anyone thinks , we don't possess a finisher like him .

It is hilarious because it's not particularly accurate.
We are willing to pay more than Aberdeen or Hibs are willing to pay. That's a big difference to financially blowing them out the water.
Let's do a wee hypothetical scenario....Let's say for example, he's offered £2,000 p/w with us. We feel we're within our scope of comfort to offer the guy such a wage with the understanding he'll be our first choice centre forward.
Lets also say Hibs want him. They already have 2 centre forwards in Doidge and Nisbett who are most likely on significantly more than him and see Brophy as a decent backup option. However, Brophy's agent understands that Edinburgh is far more expensive to live in, requires upheaval and new digs and his client will be getting less playing time - so he asks for £2,750 p/w to offset the factors of cost and lessened playing opportunity.
Hibs feel that whilst they could offer that, they choose not to as he potentially wouldn't get enough football to justify adding almost £3k more to the wage bill in these times of uncertainty for what is essentially a backup option.
So whilst we technically have paid more than Hibs, it most certainly doesn't equate to us blowing a shedload of cash and gazumping them financially. To think so is ludicrous.
You don't know what Brophy or any other members of the team are on or how it would affect their happiness. I certainly don't know how much my colleagues are on. Amazing how folk always assume fitba players sit and discuss their wage packets.
So by your own standards, all clubs should have players on the same wages to maintain peace and harmony?

I personally won't be happy until Jim has spoken to @Ronnie and had his full approval.
Honestly, I don't know WTF Jim is thinking about, announcing this in the press before Ronnie has had the courtesy of that phone call.
Frankly, this is the sort of rank amateurism I had hoped we had eliminated when Stubbs left.

Good. Hope he does and I hope he wins a penalty that he scores.
And I hope it's against one of the ugly sisters.

Some people are never happy, when was the last time Saints bought a capped 24 year old striker, this shows intent from the club to continue improving and moving forward when many clubs are going backwards

29 goals in 70 starts for Kilmarnock. The only non OF player in Scotland outwith Brophy with a better record over last 3 seasons is Sam Cosgrove.
His scoring record is good. We are never going to be able to attract proven 20 goals a season types, especially current internationals and guys in their early to mid 20s so I'm not sure what you expect in a signing. Brophy ticks a lot of boxes and strengthens out front line without a doubt.
A signing that most of us thought would have his pick of clubs outwith the OF and he's picked us. I mean it just goes to show that some fans are impossible to please.

So very sad to read of the sudden passing of Steve Rowan last week.
Steve of course was the producer behind the excellent "Love Street The Movie" DVD that was published to celebrate our time at the old stadium.
The follow on piece to that film, featuring the last ever game at Love Street and Steve interviewing supporters and ex-players is on YouTube but the actual film itself is not. So, inspired by my good friend @Yflab and for everyone to enjoy who has not seen it, here is the full film.
    Rest in peace Steve.

Cracking win, should have been out of sight before they equalised. Only the second game we have won where we have conceded in a year remarkably. Dug it out well in the end, many a side would have crumbled having let the lead slip so close to ht having dominated.

Also a shot to the heart to the fuds on here who constantly post that they no longer care, I pity you guys tonight because it's still a great feeling crowds or no crowds.

I will choose to ignore the fact he was pish on loan to Dundee United a few years back, and concentrate instead on him playing 17 times last season for a Coventry side that got promoted from League 1, which would suggest he has something about him.

Our fans, eh! Daniel is 6ft 3 and a regular with the NI Under 19 team. I hope we continue to play with a back three after Fri night which also means less demand for another defender although we do need one just in case. However the young guy looks like he can help out without costing us much (if anything).

According to my source in North London, I can reveal that St Mirren will complete the signing of striker Shaun Okojie within the next 48 hours.
Shaun is a prolific goalscorer, and is keen to move to the SPFL, he is set to make his debut v Partick Thistle on Wednesday

I am jealous we don't have Ross. I think the current squad would be performing a lot better if we did.

When we appointed Ross he assessed every player giving them a chance and binned all those not up to it. Unlike now where players are played regularly when they are not performing.

Ross also played players in their natural positions and as he said he fitted the team's style of play around the players he had available.

At the moment we have a terrible formation and players seem to be pushed into a space whether they can perform there or not.

Jim seems more focused on his system and persisting in making it work rather than seeing how best to use what he has.
