Thanks for the hard work Danny, you can leave with dignity knowing that you have played a part in the clubs history.



Danny Lennon had many faults (dont we all!) but for me his greatest attribute was his understanding that we are a comunity club who have fans who are proud of our town and club.



Danny struck me as a man who would go to the ends of the earth to look after supporters and traditions of the club.



We need a bit of this in the new man who takes over.

I feel so sorry for a really decent man and I'm a bit uncomfortable about some of the unedifying aspects of his departure. I wish him well for the future and hope he gets back into football soon.
I hope whoever steps into Danny's shoes does a first class job and takes the club forward. If he doesn't at least he won't get blamed by some Saints fans. They'll still blame Danny.

Whoever the alternative is it's a roll of the dice. Stick with Danny I say.

Would it have been too much to ask the BoD to show the manager the respect he deserves as well as communicate with us mere fans and let him take a final bow today? As it was, we had the Hearts fans singing their manager's name throughout the game, whilst DL was given a brief applause and left the park. If today was his last game, and it feels like it was (if he was saying bye to the players in the dressing room as one post says) I believe as a football club we've been disrespectful. The Saints fans are divided about what should happen next and who gets to take the reigns but the atmosphere in the stadium today was one of confusion and disbelief- it's not the first time as fans we're left in the dark. When all of this finally settles and the club is bought, can the new board please communicate with the fans (aka the shareholders, the wage-payers etc). The BBC interview by SG on Wednesday night was completely pointless....and set everyone up for another week of uncertainty. Sometimes as a club we make the simple things seem hard!

Danny should have known before today what the situation is. He deserved his chance to say goodbye to the fans, despite taking all the stick he is a classy guy who would 100% have at least made the gesture. He is a club legend and deserved that respect at least.

Would much rather keep Danny than promote Tommy Craig.

What is all this crap about Ian Murray. He led Dumbarton to 5th. He didn't win the league he didn't make the playoff and were falling over ourselves to appoint him. Gtf. I am sickened by the way Danny Lennon is being treated. Sure I have long been a critic but he has showed tremendous character to turn our season around. I think after finishing 8th he has every right to claim he should stay. Murray an unproven first division manager and again undoubtedly the cheap option. If your going to appoint a new manager why don't you show ambition and get a proven top flight boss or keep the one you have. Don't risk everything on Ian Murray. I was underwhelmed by Danny when he was appointed but he actually had won two promotions back to back. Murray has done hee haw in my eyes and please god I hope he isn't our manager. This situation is unfair on both Lennon and the players. I've long thought that the club sends out the wrong (if any) signals about its ambition. This is just another example. Very unprofessional.

Please don't take this as any form of dig, as I respect anyone who is passionate about Saints, but I do have to take issue with something here.
Why would you be enraged by anyone who attacks (for this, I would read strongly criticises?) any decisions made by the BoD? Are they unimpeachable? They are human like the rest of us, and prone to making errors of judgement. Moreover, can you seriously expect people to either agree with every decision made, or simply accept them and not pipe up on account of the (extremely) positive contributions they have made during their tenure at the club?
Just like Danny cannot dine out on the League Cup victory indefinitely, nor is it reasonable to expect people not to criticise elements of the current BoD's stewardship of the club on the basis of their intervention to save it from the clutches of RB.
I'm not going to refer to any specific decisions that I have disagreed with, because it is neither the time nor the place, and nor am I presumptious enough to think that you'd be interested in any event, but I will stoutly defend my entitlement to throw in my tuppence worth.
The recent debacle regarding the manager's position reflects poorly on the club. It was wholly unnecessary, and has left a bad taste with a number of supporters - myself included - so I can only begin to wonder how it has left the management team and some of the players feeling.
