Good to see Mallan get on the scoresheet again on Sunday and played very well in the 2nd half when he moved inside to play alongside Mcginn. Think they can make a great partnership in the next few months and Mallan will learn alot from playing beside him.

It was a pasty anyway so they won't pay out. Would serve them right for offering odds on ridiculous stuff anyway.

Absolutely agree, didn't have his best game at Dumbarton (until the last 20 mins at least) but made the all important 2nd goal driving through the middle and playing a perfect ball through to Morgan, he can be a game changer when he's in the right position.

I'd go ahead with the 8th March since it's away, maybe just not drop people to the bottom if they're dropping out to go to the game.
As requested.. match report for last nights game (even with teams as I have the bit of paper I wrote them on sittin on my desk in front of me!)
    Teams:
Non Bibs - Nicky, Stef, Charlie, Gordon Scott, Stuart C, Graeme R, Neil Cameron, Niall Cameron
Bibs - Scott Townsley, Scott Steele, Big Mark, Fraser C, Gerry, Sean R, Thomas R, Martyn
Non Bibs scored early after a Stevie Mallan esque run and finish from Niall and controlled the game for the first 20 mins, they should have been more than 1 ahead after 20 mins or so with the bibs struggling to get on the ball and too busy arguing with each other. The non bibs seem to tire from then on and a poor spell was capped off with Stuart almost decapitating our chairman when he took a rocket to the face at point blank range. The bibs gradually came into the game and grabbed a 2 goal lead with about 5 mins to go before the Non Bibs rallied and pulled 2 quick goals back to level it up. A long range curling shot from myself was well saved before Martyn kindly nodded into his own net to give the non bibs the lead and the non bibs then added another to seal the victory late one.
Good game, and a few well worked goals. New 7 aside goals are up!

I agree where the blame lies and I'm not blaming fans for his performances,I know more than anyone how much he's deteriorating and it's killing me,he knows his responsibility and is working hard to regain some kinda form to get us out of this situation,as for going down south,he knows he was going into a development squad to try get to the level to perform in the championship,Barnsley where willing to take the chance and so was Stephen, where not delusional he knows how big a leap it is to come close to that level, given the chance for a possible promotion at work with the assistance to get there would you say nah  most folk don't think I could achieve it,I think you would still want to try it.
as for comparing Stephen to Stephen mcginn there in 2 different leagues and have been for a number of years,it's the same as comparing him to John and Kenny, who played with a lot more strength and talent than what the weeman has had,but I do agree he should be doing more, that I won't hide from, yes he should be more creative, yes he should be more direct as well as his final ball,if he gets the chance to play along side Stephen mcginn as I've said I think you will see a different player, I'm a football guy,I always hated losing when I played and now watching my son lose,it churns my stomach when we do to,anyone who sits beside me will tell you my passion for this club.
i don't mean to go on about Stephen I apologise, everyone has their opinion on football that's why you can debate till the cows come home,it was just to answer a couple of queries to begin with that's all, then I got carried away a bit,but overall I agree where the buck lies.
hopefully a couple of good performances in the weeks leading up to the Ayr game, blend In the new blood and with fresh faces competing for places is healthy and help get the fingers out,yes my boy and one or two others that are maybe not performing to there ability.thanks for giving me the time to say a few word now I'll crawl back into my hole never to return.thanks

Thought he stood out in the first half, great goal and was unlucky not long before that when he sold Storrie a good dummy and produced a good save from O'brien. Should be playing at a higher level if he's only 24.

I don't see the problem in supporters trying something like this. I was happy to hold up my card at Hampden in one hand in 2013, and took a photo of the Saints fans with my camera in the other hand. The photo turned out really well. It 'inconvenienced' me for about a minute prior to the match.
Clearly, the issue is that without the numbers or resources anywhere near the likes of Celtic's Green Brigade or Aberdeen's Red Ultras - who did a stunning display for a European game a few seasons ago - St Mirren's efforts in the past, to my eyes at least, have tried to do the kind of things those groups do, but it won't work properly without 20,000 fans and thousands of pounds thrown at it.
If this idea is a big flag that gets passed overhead - it could be used again by permanently spreading it across the seats of the now mostly unused North Stand. My input would be to steer clear of any Bells B&Q Ramsdens Petrofac Irn Bru Colts Welsh & Norn Iron Diddies Diddy Cup mention... and just make it something generic relating to St Mirren that can be reused.
I might watch this final on TV, unless I have a golf game arranged, will look for the banner with interest, and if anyone is shoving a pen-knife through it and a wee head pops through in anger, I'll assume it's oaksoft and not freethinker shull.

I`ve just gone back and re-read every single one of his posts on this topic and i`m sorry i cant find a single one which is disparaging or anything near it. Far from it , i think the overall tone of his posts here have been positive. He acknowledged the mistakes made in the past , thanked those who have supported the idea , even acknowledged there are those who dont get it ( without abusing them) and restated the groups aims to hopefully add a bit of colour to what , lets be honest , can be a pretty drab occurrence (Supporting Saints !!)
I think you must be seeing something here that i`m not.

Why does everything need to be a fight on here? Can't we all just get along?
If you don't like the idea and don't want to participate, that's absolutely fine. Fan displays aren't for everyone. At Kilmarnock we bought £80 worth of inflatable pandas, cows, beach balls, streamers and balloons. All the weans loved it. There's nothing sinister about our intentions, just a group of St Mirren fans who want to make a cup final memorable.
Thanks to everyone who's replied, donated and gave feedback. We genuinely do take it all on board.

Just a heads up re the rail disruption. I did the journey yesterday from Ayrshire with the same restrictions as are currently in place for Saturday (bus replacement Paisley to Kilwinning). It is not that bad at all only adds 15-20 mins to the journey. The bus for Kilwinning only stops at Johnstone (other buses running to intermediate stops) and took just over 40 mins with the train waiting for you on arrival at Kilwinning. There were fleets of buses at both ends, as many as they basically need for each departure.

I think the club should charter a flight from Glasgow airport to Prestwick then we could have a march to Ayr tartan army style.

Considering the extra money the club are getting in from the Celtic game, probably over £200,000 then it would be a great idea for them to run a fleet of buses for fans to Ayr. Don't know how much a coach costs to hire but say they put on 10 coaches I would guess it would only cost about £5000 surely?

What's the chances of SMiSA subsidising buses for our vital game at Ayr?
The regular Supporters Clubs could be subsidised and leave from their normal base and you could have a fleet of buses leaving from SMP.
We need a good support at this game to "sing our way to the Play Offs".There are a lot of engineering works on the railway that weekend which might put people of using the train.
The 1877 Club could be opened up for a couple of hours before the buses leave, and maybe also for the buses returning, which would give it some extra revenue and help Fans "get in the mood" for the game.
If this is not a possibility for SMiSA could they put it to the BoD for consideration?
A full away end could be worth a goal of a start.

They also have 6 points (all draws) from the last 12 games and we have 9 in that period.. you can make stats say anything you want.
I think we need to just concentrate on catching Ayr, especially since we really want Dumbarton to beat them the weekend we are playing in the Scottish Cup. If we get to a playoff with Alloa or a similiar team then we just need to bank on us winning that over 2 legs, if we can't do that we don't deserve to stay up.
