Ayrshire Saints got a reaction from Drew in The Referendum Thread
That's a very valid point Drew. There are a huge number in the yes campaign who quite clearly will have very different idea's of how an independent Scotland should look. The Greens and the Socialists will have very differing images of an independent Scotland to the SNP but at least they can see it for the vehicle it could be. Too many better together campers seem to get way too caught up in the Salmond factor assuming we are blind disciples hanging on his every word. A yes vote would have very little impact on any future governance of an independent Scotland imo. All that needs is for the opposition parties to get their acts together assuming they would have the fight for that after losing the referendum.

I would hardly describe the €1.22 and $1.67 as strong. Better than of late but not strong. Im firmly in the yes campaign but struggling to get my head round the insistence on keeping the pound. There simply has to be an alternative and it has to be brought to the table soon. A yes vote imo is for a clean break, a fresh start and I don't see retaining the uk currency as being viable in this respect. If we are lead to believe we can stand on our own 2 feet economically then we have to be able to support and be supported by our own currency. If this isnt possible and fiscal stability is only possible via retention of the existing UK currency then AS has backed his campaign into an impossible corner. I would like to think that they would at least have explored alternatives however I fear they probably have and the sums just don't add up. The longer we go with no alternative being offered up the more sceptical I become.

Thought Goodwin and Macgregor looked better than usual and kept Rooney fairly quiet.
Magennis in for McGowan and Teale in for Wylde will do for me.
Hopefully another week will have improved DD's sharpness, although I'm not holding my breath.

Just make Djemba manager to the end of the season. If nothing else at least it would stop him playing - he's brutal (literally). World Cup ??? be still my splitting sides. A performance totally devoid of confidence and Im now thinking that DL might be best to go now. Lose at Dingwall and I think drastic action will be required before the Killie game to see if we can get a short term lift to get us to the end of the season with our Premiership status intact. We can't go on like this much longer it's scunnering in the extreme.

For a player of his experience with ambition to play at the WC his decision making is shocking. Yes you can see he can make space and can find a man but it's no use if you make awful decisions. Two poor poor challenges yesterday the second of which cost us what would have been a valuable point. He will improve with matches but he doesn't have that luxury as he will only be here for another dozen or so and at the rate he's going he will cop a ban soon too. We never looked like losing a goal before the pen which makes it all the more annoying. Had Goodwin made that challenge they would have been queuing up on here to crucify him.

I watched him closely and yes he was off the pace but his passing and availability to receive the ball was excellent. He will only get better with games and Utd away in a cup game was hardly an easy start. I saw enough to suggest he will do well despite my initial scepticism at his signing. Teale and McLean returning will be big plus points too.
Why the clamour to change managers now ? I watched the game today with a Utd fan who was convinced we will be nowhere near the play off spot. That is all that is realistically left now so why spunk cash we dont have on a pay off ?

He won't get a new deal and losing away at Utd is hardly a sacking offence. We played ok today and I personally saw nothing to suggest we will go down. EDD looked a class act fouling apart and with games will only get better. On logging on to this you would have thought we had just lost by 4 or 5 !
The haters need to accept he is here to the end of the season. If we play like today we will be fine just face facts as cup draws go we got a bad one. Im sick of this witch hunt just accept he is here to the end of the season ffs why would we ditch him now especially when no one us available to replace him.

Drew the fight needs to be in the players in the run in. We ARE better than 11th I am convinced of this. DL will not keep us out of trouble the players will. He doesn't have a contract beyond the end of the season and he surely wont get a new one so why pay him off now ?
Why the outcry tonight as we played better than in a lot of recent games.

Dont know what to make of this. Lennon states at the press conference that he will provide additional defensive midfield cover allowing attacking players to get forward but he will have to drop an attacking player to accommodate Dj-Dj (Im assuming he is to be played in tandem with Goodwin rather than instead of). Yes we could do with more goals and cover for or an alternative to Goodwin but I have never attributed our lack of goals to creative players being forced to defend. Again not a squeak about our honking defensive record its as if Danny is oblivious to the goals we concede and thinks more goals will be the answer. I hope this works out I really do but it's right out left field.

His goalscoring rate appears to be 1 goal every 2 seasons.,,,,
The guy's been about a bit. Clearly he wasn't English Premiership standard and has bounced about since then. Seemingly the best period of his career was a few seasons in the Danish league with Odense. What standard is that? Denmark 17th in the coefficient, Scotland 23rd... Slightly better maybe.
A lot will depend on his attitude. If he adapts quickly, can protect the back 4 so we leak fewer goals then he'll be a good signing. With the role he plays though, I wouldn't expect him to be grabbing headlines in the same way that Isma did.

No one is "expecting" you or anyone else for that matter to turn up and watch. It's a personal choice. As for today I have seen way better Saints teams being thrashed by far poorer Celtic teams down the years. Our season will never be gauged on results at Parkhead where any sort of a result should be seen as a bonus. We are what we are and we are where we are so you either accept that and pay to support the club (the club will always be way more important than it's current employees) or you choose not to. I'm personally not happy the way the season is panning out and I'm pretty sure DL will be gone come the summer now come what may (rightly so) but in the meantime I will be urging the team on as we need to avoid relegation either by finishing 10th or better or via a play off. I hope everyone gets behind the team as that will help but ultimately there is no obligation. For the teams sake we need unity in the run in not more bickering and moaning about a situation which lets face it we have absolutely no control over.
