Off the back of the last thread, myself and Mattman sat down with the chairman and the SLO in person, and resolved pretty much everything. There were no issues, and we had cleared up which banners were acceptable etc. All back to being positive. The group are emailing the club regularly to keep them up to date with plans to improve communication.
Fast forward a few months and this “incident” occurs.
Now I don’t know what information the chairman has been given. All I know is that the information he put out in an official club statement was (at best) innacurate.
There’s always been tension between certain people in W7 and the club, so when false information is put out about the group , you do start to question why that happened...
If the Northbank group were to wrongly put out a statement saying that Gordon Scott spat on a guy in a stretcher, he would rightly be taking them to court for slandering his name.
Assuming that he was given false info
A- where did this information come from?
B- why wasn’t it fact checked? The statement literally said that stuff shouldn’t be discussed on social media where “individuals can twist the truth”, which is exactly what has happened here with the false information
C- what was there to gain by further destroying any trust between the group and the club? Why didn’t he approach the people who he knows were standing within 10 yards of the incident, rather than starting yet another war on social media?
Spitting on someone is f**king disgusting, and if anyone was caught doing this, the club are perfectly within their rights to ban that person from our stadium and pass on their details to the police

Yes, but the moan brigade on here dont represent the vast majority who go week in week out. They are just self indulgent tossers who are bored with day time television. We all need to be constructive, as proven by OUR club, chopping and changing just sets us back. We are not Chelsea for gods sake................. OK knows far better than any of us what needs to happen. i am 100% certain it wont be from lack of effort on his behalf.

I however will not as I am with you ......... I've said before that OK has taken on a poison chalice with this job and coming in at this time after the  Stubbs single handed destruction of any feel good factor between club and fans by the dismantling of a championship winning side (not saying that they would have been good enough without a few good addition in the premiership) but in truth and I think we all know this the damage was done even before Stubbs with the messing around of our once glorious leader and gaffer  JR who and I don't shy behind the fact that he left us in the lurch at his timing when leaving.........So we can point blame here or there but to what purpose???
Fact is OK has now got HIS SQUAD and to be fair to him he has hardly had the same team on the pitch for more than a week or two at a time due to player movements and injuries.
Now I don't have the luxury or "misery some would say" of seeing our Team play week in week out but what I have seen online has shown some potential and given a few weeks and the return from injury I think this squad has every chance of turning out a good one, now whether there is enough time to save us from the drop and I'm hoping there is, then I think even in fitba there is a place for nice guys with "an edge" that I believe OK has.
I've been a Fan of our club for a million lifetimes and have never ever known our clubs fortunes to be anything other than a roller coaster of a ride so the answer is quite simple if ye canny take the bad wi the bad wi the bad and the odd gem bit of Good then your know cut out to be a St Mirren Fan it's who we are and I'm afraid will continue to be we are a small fish in a big puddle and we continually develop decent young talent both within players and management...........the one constant we have are the "loyal stand fast" at times moaning fans that we are only because we all want the best for the best we big club on the planet.
Come what may we are the ones who will still support this club through "hell or high water" and aye ah know it feels like that a lot ....but as I said that's what makes us fans who we are and WE ARE SMFC77.......

Need to take a step back and put things into perspective. If we cast back to our original targets for manager they didnt want to take the job. Robbie Neilson was offered it but chose not too as we were a bad risk on his CV. He said we would need a far bigger budget to achieve the expectations of our fans. Stubbs has now said likewise. We have low resources and are where we are for a number of reasons. Orans job is to take us to safety and deserves that chance. I would like to see him at least given 2 transfer windows before we pull the plug.

Surely we all want Oran to go ?
To go and grab enough points to keep us in the Premier League - end off.
21 games with a squad that was not capable of getting any more points and with new incomers who are not up to speed yet - never mind the injuries.
Nelson, McIntyre and others knew this was a poison chalice - but Oran was man enough to take on the challenge.
HE has just transitioned the squad - 2 games ago - we still have 7 injured and a few who have not played much in 2 months.
Go and drink some instant coffee - it tastes crap but the stuff that tastes good takes time to brew!

Who would be a football manager. Calling for a managers head now is crazy. We have a new set of players. Injuries to key players and moral is low. We may need to take a step back to go forward. Yes its painful but it should get better.  Look at Chelsea 4 down in 25 minutes. We have no devine right to be in the top league but we need to get behind what we have.

The point is that, I don’t think we can assume if Jack was still here we’d be having a good season.
Last year with a team including Morgan, our best player in recent years, we lost heavily in cup ties against premier league teams. Remember 0 - 5 to Patrick Thistle, that was just last season, and it was live on TV.
The year before, a 2 - 0 win at Dundee was great but we were then gubbed by Celtic in a game where our competitiveness was comparable to this year.
I thought Jack was a good manager and I was sorry to see him go. Although I would’ve questioned his sanity if his response to big clubs trying to recruit him was “Nah, I’d rather stay at St.Mirren”
Sunderland fans see him as a nice guy but tactically naive and out of his depth.
    Sound familiar?
Maybe we would be doing better if he was still here but I’m far from convinced.
I can’t shake the feeling that you could make a strong case for believing that OK and JR are mangers at roughly the same level.

We can't keep going on the assumption that an alternatively experienced manager would turn this mess round. Yogi Hughes at Raith, Butcher at Hibs and Inverness, the list goes on were all failures.
Despite picking up 3 points at the weekend, the appointment of Brian Rice at Accies for me, was as big a risk as when we appointed Tommy Craig. Well established coach, though certainly not much experience as a manager.
Chopping and changing the manager consistently is not going to make our club an attractive gig, so you are left with the same names in the pot everytime the vacancy opens up.
People will always debate the standard of the Northern Irish league too in comparison. Setting that aside, the size and rep of the club he built up to be title contenders. national cup winners and access to the europa league qualifiers, was all through patience. Our fans simply do not have that.
We HAVE TO give OK the rest of the season. It's his team now.

And this out-of-context quote says to me that OK’s aware that if managing Saints f**ks up, then he has a fallback position, not that he is doing it as a break from his real passion.
his passion is to be a successful St Mirren manager, not a teacher.  His current role is the aspirational one.

in the same way as John Coughlin was once a roofer and could, if management went wrong, turn his hand to that.
it’s certainly not a stick to beat him with.

Anyone who thinks the club can afford to, or should sack another entire management team is nothing short of mental. It's the root of all our problems and the only thing that might fix thing for the longer term is a period of stability. What would the upshot be, we will more likely than not be relegated anyway so why waste what little cash we would have paying off another management team when that can be used to build a squad next season. OK has as much chance of keeping us up as the next man. Top Cat clearly has no idea he just wants every manager sacked within months when it is this very policy that is holding us back.

I think it depends on the nature of how we go down, if we go down !,  as to whether OK is here next season.
If we go down fighting then I think he'll get 2 or 3 months in Championship to prove he has what it takes, otherwise I think it may be difficult for him.
Personally I'd give OK the chance to do something in Championship however it works out this season.

Oran has had to rebuild an entire team on a budget that includes the players we are paying off from Stubbs reign of terror
Tansey aside, I'd say all of the players he's brought in look better than what we had (so far)
