Rothesay Saint reacted to pozbaird in 10000Hours Statement On Recent Events
I expect it will be very busy. I've never known anything like this in all my days as a football supporter. Difficult to make sense of things any more, although it should be simple.
SPL member club enters administration. SPL member club is liquidated. New owner attempts to start afresh and applies for the vacant slot in Div 3.
Boosh. Job done.

Fair enough bud, I can't criticise anyone for feeling like that.
I too am disgusted by the proposal and particularly the way it has been worded, but I see the strength of feeling all the way through the leagues and believe the fans will ensure this fudge doesn't happen.
Rather than try and kill our own club, we should be trying to kill the proposal. In my opinion.

I thought that would be the case.
No point in chasing tails here. You don't know what it is you are missing, so it's therefore impossible to provide it.

Rothesay Saint reacted to DXBBud in Snp Motion To "investigate Possible Takeover Of St.mirren"
Very interesting development. The cooncil could help by buying some of 25K packages to provide the immediate injection of cash the bid needs but could gain a bit of favour with the public and the fans by offering some or all of their benefits to the the fans through draws etc. rather than keeping them for the prawn sandwich brigade since it will be the public that have paid for them and not the individuals that would benefit from them being used by the cooncil.

Loaded questions? Yes, but when was the last time you saw a survey that wasn't. The questions are easy to answer for me.
1. No
2. No - Our team would cope
3. No - Our club would survive
4. Yes - I would do all I can if ST Mirren were in trouble.
I see these answers as no brainers, others may have different views. Each there own.

I'd rather watch a skint st mirren at the racecourse than in a league which condones cheats and actively invites them back.

Personally my opinion on this has never changed and always will be No To New Co.
Similarly Yes to fan ownership and yes to 1,000 St.Mirren fans (and hopefully many more) controlling the destiny of our football club for generations to come.

I don't know how the bid's going to go tomorrow and I'm keeping my fingers crossed we can pull a rabbit out the hat, but I just wanted to say well done to everyone who has signed up - over £11,000 a month.
I'm astounded by the response in the last few weeks.
You all make me proud to be a Buddie xx

Rothesay Saint reacted to TsuMirren in Why Leave Mr Gilmour?
It might be a good idea had the 5 of them had 6 figure sums to just throw away and not want anything back...I'm not sure about all of them, but by all accounts Ms Purves wasn't happy about her husband putting money in anyway, George Campbell has already had a heart attack and the others will no doubt have impacted upon their homes, personal savings and businesses in order to keep Saint Mirren afloat and progressing past Love Street and in to the new ground. Maybe they've already seen some of it back, who knows, but I'm pretty sure the price isn't too bad considering what the CIC (us all included remember) gets to utilise and build on.

Rothesay Saint reacted to Tennant's Lager in Two Days Left. Time To Decide, Or To Roll The Dice
Having given it no end of considered thought, I've finally decided to join 10k Hours again. I have concerns about it yes, and the bid may still fail clearly, but the end thoughts have been what do I want to happen, and that if there's anything I don't like, they could and should be changed and I reserve the right to shout my mouth off about it if not. I know plenty of people on here do and will take an alternative view and have no problem with that at all. Ultimately I'm something of a naive optimist and what will be will be.

The timing of everything here is unfortunate.
We are in the close season, the situation at Ibrox is changing rapidly and there is a lot of uncertainty in general about the SPL and Scottish Football.
If the majority of St.Mirren fans genuinely think that the club being sold to an international consortium we don't know, given what has and is happening at Rangers, is preferable to the 10000Hours bid then I truly despair for us.
Yes, the 10000Hours bid is not perfect, but it is the only route we have towards fan ownership of the club as it stands today.
We have the chance to protect the football club for generations to come, and we can all work together to make it whatever we want it to be.
If that isn't worth £10 a month then seriously, god help us all.

The Administrators are still suggesting that Green can buy the grounds for a fraction of their worth stiffing the taxpayer out of millions. At the end of the day HMRC will get F'all out of Whyte and Murray so surely the assets THEY owned should be auctioned off piecemeal to the highest bidder to maximise the return. Anything less is criminal AFAIC.
