    Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Rangers can't be punished. They are already f*cked !
The "Rangers" that was guilty of all sorts of misdemeanours for the past 15-20 years (some still to be confirmed / determined) do not exist as soon as they are liquidated.
The Rangers newco, should they be admitted to the SFL, are a completely different entity. Their fate (not a punishment) ought to be starting life in Division 3. It makes no sense to 'punish' the newco team with any additional penalties for the crimes of the 'oldco', whose punishment has been absolute i.e. liquidation, confined to history, dead as a dodo, they have ceased to be, etc, etc.

    Div,
As I have no idea if CIC were aware of this or not, I asked for my membership to be put on hold, and ensure no monies were taken until after a decision had been made. Richard kindly confirmed to me by e-mail that no monies would be taken until after the club was sold, and seemed to be quite understanding of the reasoning behind it. My decision to cancel the DDM will be because I will no longer be following St Mirren as a result of the actions of the club.
If 1000hours were not aware, it would be in their best interest to join support with the fans and do everything to help us stop a 1st Division Rangers. Membership contributions could rise IMO if they were seen to be joining forces with us rather than a them and us.
I also recommended that some form of communication was opened to prevent a mass cancelling of DDM.

If this goes ahead I would seriously consider cancelling direct debits for me and the mrs, withdrawing my 87 club pledge and asking for a season ticket refund. I'd hate to walk away from football but I would think seriously about it.

How aware were the consortium of today's SPL document and plans laid out within, prior to it's public release?
If they were made aware of it, when did it come to light?
Again, following this why weren't we, the people who voted on the NewCo issue, made aware of an impending release and the questions altered accordingly?
What is the CiC SG's and REA's personal viewpoint on the document released today by the SPL?

The council haven't got two brass tacks to rub together and the SNP group have negligible influence on the council.
Apart from that, it's a storming idea Brian.
What's more concerning is the number of people taken in by this PR crap. It's no better than the tabloid spin we've witnessed from Jim Traynor and Keith Jackson about Rangers for the last 12 months.
Like I said, keep your political games away from our football club.

    The tone. The cheap shot.
If you can represent your concerns without the need to resort to personalised attacks based on assumptions and speculation, then people might be more inclined to address them, I'd have thought.

Given the negativity around these questions today I was a bit sceptical about going through with this poll.
However, as the guy who would have been voting on behalf of the CIC members at an SPL meeting if the CIC owned the controlling interest in the club at this time I would have taken great comfort in knowing that I had the knowledge that can be been gleamed even at this early stage from the voting patterns.
If we had put up a simple yes/no vote and any of the other scenarios had raised there head what would I have done?
I know the answer is "vote no" but do you not have greater piece of mind knowing that all the fans are firmly behind a no vote no matter what and are prepared to help the club get through it?
    I certainly am.

If a COMMUNITY Interest Company is prepared to ask Community Groups and Charities to dig deep to bail out a senior professional football club then I have to wonder where the "Community" element in this bid is. There was supposed to be mutual benefits for all parties, not a ripping the piss out of community groups to profit some directors who want to fill their pockets.

Having read everything Div has said today, I appreciate there is a risk involved. But, that's life.
Just because I'd be broke if I didn't rob the bank doesn't mean that I was 'right' to rob the bank.
That may seam slightly simplistic for what is an extremely complex situation but the principle is the same. I cannot and will not support the club or 10000hrs if they make the wrong decision. There are plenty forms of entertainment out there worthy of my money than what would be a morally bankrupt football league.

As some one pointed out on the other thread, the funding package has to anticipate the worst case scenario in sporting terms (ie, relegation in 10 months time). A reduction in TV money is no as extreme as relegation so should be academic. I think 10000 hours is in a decent position to renegotiate the terms with Bii. They can evidence the huge support of the St Mirren fan base as well as the general consensus in Scottish football regarding the NewCo. Scottish football will prosper without Sevco and Bii have to be made aware of this. Any good lobbyists on board?

And the St Mirren swing-on-meter once again swings wildly from one extreme to the other!
Look read the info for what it is. The deal is still on and 10000hours members will be consulted on the Newco vote. Thats what the majority of members wanted and its being delivered. Now hopefully the SMFC board and 10000hours will provide the arguments for and against so members can make a rational decision based on the facts.
To be completely honest I'm delighted that 10000hours will not be forced to buy the club at what is the worst possible moment. Lets step back and see how it plays out instead of all this ranting wild eyed speculation

As much as I've got a lot of time for all the guys involved and appreciate the work done, that scenario is an absolute showstopper for me. There is no compromise to be made.

Wild speculation abounds. I suspect that the 10,000Hours bid is going to be as good as it gets for SG & Co, who may now be regretting the whole amateur dramatics of "I'll never sell the club to anybody who doesn't have the best interests of SMFC at heart".
GLS , Fitzy, a few legendary ex-players, and 1000+ supporters probably represent a body that has the best interests of the club at heart.
I'm unaware of any business bigwigs and investment groups whose pin numbers and security codes all at one stage featured 160587 as digits. They don't exist.
I hope the current BoD aren't having a petted lip about the idea of one of the 48% now set to run the club. That would be a sad way to end a great legacy. I'm sure they'll do the right thing.

No real capacity, I was there representing 10000Hours along with Richard, Gordon and Tony Fitz.
Although I have no wish to stand (and indeed definitely won't be standing) for any position of responsibility in the organisation post takeover I have invested a lot of time into the bid over the last few weeks so it was felt beneficial to have me there today.

Only Animal could turn a post that carefully explains why 10000 hours have not promoted a scheme making use of credit facilities into some kind of negative nonesense about encouraging fans to take on debt.
Thick or personal agenda? I'm sure most posters have already decided.

There is a finance option available on the 87club membership which is financed through the same credit company who do the season tickets (Zebra).
Half a dozen or so people have contacted 10000Hours asking about taking out a membership in this way so it was setup and the option is there for anyone interested.
Pretty sure it is only available over 2 years though.
It was decided not to shout about this very loudly because bid team did not want to be seen to be actively asking fans to put themselves into personal debt, or to potentially over stretch themselves to try and help he bid.
If this is of interest to anyone then send an email to [email protected] and Richard will explain how it works.
