bazil85 got a reaction from St.Ricky in Policing Costs
It will of course be a factor but I think the bottom line results show that policing costs wouldn’t be anywhere close to a red line in this arrangement debate.

Not wrong though am I?
Still what it works out at over the season though because we still have police costs associated with them in one stand & every other home game anyway. It won’t be ‘a lot more’ for these matches.
These statistics show that relatively speaking the policing costs don’t come close to outweighing the financial income of these fixtures.

Tedious, from the guy that's noting resting players in a challenge cup game & football tops as reasons why he isn't renewing his season ticket...

Best of luck with it, some fair points in among that majority gargle. If that's the way you feel you're best away... feel free to bring that exile to BAWA as well. 😁

That's quite a personal e-mail good to see the club trying . Hope it worked for you Shull. The number of years you have supported the club means the St Mirren DNA is in your body.

Why do SMiSA need this gimmick now?
Is membership falling?

FFS always someone spinning a negative on a positive.
The feel good factor is back, get the gaffer involved with promoting SMiSA, potentially gain more memberships.
I can't see why folk see the need to bump their gums about the bloody manager been given an honorary membership, which in other words is most likely an Ambassador type recognition for SMiSA.

Aye. You made it up. You don’t know.
I understand honorary. It’s potentially a really positive & nice gesture to afford individuals or groups where appropriate & deserved.
Im still curious to what it’s for & means in SMISA context. if any one sensible can shed any light on this id be grateful.
Previous applicants need not reapply.

bazil85 got a reaction from St.Ricky in Well Done Partick Thistle
Most people might not spend their whole working life in the same job but there’s usually some kind of of correlation between roles, promotions & company moves. It’s the exception to the norm for people to move into completely different fields & even then it’s usually researched/ education based.
To say they should just adapt I think is very idealistic & makes light of the huge change some of these young men face coming out of something they’ve often only known.

Patrick Thistle players would probably be lucky to be on £40k a year. For a very short career it isn’t a lot of money.

bazil85 got a reaction from East Lothian Saint in The Family Stand - Open Letter to the Board
Ricky is right, I strongly dislike this arrangement (I’d be very surprised if GLS & Tony don’t feel the same) & in an ideal world I would not only have our stands filled with SMFC fans, I would have the bigots completely removed from Scottish football.
The realist in me knows that won’t happen & for me a few (you know who, please take that word in context) fans having a different view for 3/4 games isn’t enough of a blocker for us to turn down funds that could be the difference between our fans attending top flight or Championship football.

There is nothing in the Rules that provides for "honorary" members. Making things up as they go along.
I'm sure we'll have the usual nugget on here saying "rules dusnae matter" etc etc.

bazil85 got a reaction from Jolly_Boy_John_87 in The Family Stand - Open Letter to the Board
Is there really any need? Subject has been done to death, board have clarified on several occasions it won't change until we have enough St Mirren fans to fill these empty seats, we'll own the club in a few years can review then if we wish.
Side note, have Aberdeen, Hibs or Hearts ever sold out their one stand allocation?

bazil85 reacted to Lord Pityme in Kyle McAllister - the return?
I think its fair to say after only playing a handful of first team games before his transfer out Kyle has yet to show the consistent form his potential indicates he is capable of. Add to that the groin injury! Does he still have it? Are we in danger of repeating the same mistakes we did with Tansey, Gow etc..? Kyle visibly struggled in several games last season.
i would expect, if he can prove his fitness the likes of Hibs, Killie, Aberdeen, Well, Fakes would be interested in him. Hibs especially since Boyle is out for the forseeable. If no one else shows an interest might that be telling us something?

If we were to have a vote do you think there would be a bus with:
‘vote yes for a six figure increase in revenue’ on one side and ‘vote yes for a 10% increase in playing budget’ on the other side touring round paisley? 🙄

We’re not seeing evidence of this though, young supporters seem to be on the rise, there is positivity & engagement with the W1 boys that are making more young fans want to attend games. Same goes for the even younger fans with the panda club and pre match entertainment.
IMO we’re seeing best of both worlds, financial gain that in no small part likely contributed to SP survival last season & enough happening outside 3 games last season for young fans to want to attend.
