kevo_smfc reacted to pozbaird in 51% Group Is Killing Our Club
Thing is, despite my frustration and open criticism at such simple stuff as my signature text and some other stuff I mentioned yesterday and don't need to repeat again.... Killing the club? They can't stand accused of that. They need to get out of dodge and sell to decent new owners with ideas, drive, and the ability to sort out simple stuff that doesn't cost a lot of money, and supporters are willing to take on for free anyway, but they cannot stand accused of murder.
Rangers, Gretna, Livvy, Dunfermline, Hearts... even Petrie fcuking up a Hibernian side who languish in third bottom of fizzy pop-land.... THEY can be accused of killing clubs. Big time.
However, to my eyes, the tank of goodwill that deservedly came from saving the club all those years ago seems a bottomless one, and criticising the saviours of the club is, again to my eyes, like kicking a puppy.
Time to go, or pick up the baton that has been dropped so publicly, but killing us? No way. They have stuck with it when others would surely have rode out of town, after selling to any old spiv who showed up.

Thommo obviously felt he could go, simple as that. Craig would have been desperate for him to play also and try to give his team a lift and maybe a goal but it didn't work out.
The manager would have been in real trouble last night had we lost so it's understandable that he gambled on the big man's fitness. No need to blame anyone and let's all hope that he hasn't aggravated it too much.

Every cloud has a silver lining.
This could give Callum Ball and Ross Caldwell a real extended run in the side as a partnership.
It might just be that they can form a lethal strikeforce...

My first game yesterday. Thought we played very well just the final ball into the net missing with plenty opportunities in the box. Thomo now back is a big plus. Play like we did yesterday wins will not be far off

Looking at my calendar it still says August!
Going by the knicker wetters comments on here, itseems that just about everyone at the club should be sacked, or will be sacked by December!
There was me thinking that the season went on till next May, and not every team can win at the same time?
And if we happened to win three on the bounce those same commentators would tell us its got nothing to do with the manager/coaches/board....
I have a very strong sense of deja vu' amongst all this pish.

    Indeed it will.
Played well in 2 out of 3 the games so far. I always think that if the performances are there , the results will follow ( albeit later than we hoped ).
Early days , roll on the next game

Wouldn't say we were superb today, if we won the game having played how we did then maybe we could have described the performance as superb. There were certainly a lot of decent performances, Goodwin was MOM by a mile and showed how important he is for Kenny and McGinn to press further up the park.
Big Callum Ball missed a complete sitter, he won't get a better chance to score, I was sitting right on the by line in the west stand and Naismith put it on a plate, he never had to stretch and even got contact, just had to side foot it into the net, after that there was only going to be a Dundee goal, it was one of those days (again). Balls were breaking everywhere in the Dundee box except to one of our players to stick in in the net, when we do get our first goal this season it will be scrappy but more than welcomed.
There are positives and I feel if we get a win under our belts things will improve quickly. Wasn't going to go on Tuesday night after having to pay £25 for me and the boy today, but thanks to a friend and a generous stranger outside the ground we found ourselves getting 2 season tickets, so money saved today will be put into the club on Tuesday now, and I think we could give the Pars a doing if we get an early goal. Goals give confidence and that's all we need just now.
What happened at the goal by the way, looked like a hopeful high ball and we had no CB near it

    Decent display today.
With a bit of composure we would've scored at least 6 ( six )
We'll climb the table very quickly.

Played superb against Motherwell on the opening day, numerous decent chances, prob should have had a couple at least, same again today, could easily have been 3 or 4 and Dundee couldn't have complained, Drury did ok on his debut with a bit more composure could have had 2, Wasn't at the Hamilton game so can't comment.Overall i'm obviously dissapointed with no points on the board yet but there's a lot of positives to be taken and hopefully the chances created will be turning to goals sooner rather than later. I'm certainly not going to be calling for the gaffer to be axed any time soon.

Before considering getting a season ticket, please answer the following questions truthfully and honestly.
    Is it all Cheesy's fault?
    Is the new scoreboard shite?
Should the consortium lower their asking price?
    Is Jim Goodwin the anti-Christ?
    Are JD Sports on drugs?
    Is it all Cheesy's fault?
Does Tommy Craig intend to be shown up by guys like Alex Neil all season?
Will you set Dickson to ignore?
Will you 'like' all my jokes, no matter how shite they are?
    Gus McPherson or Danny Lennon?
At all times, do you promise to call 'Rangers' by their proper name? Please choose from 'The Rangers', 'Sevco 3058 Scotland', 'The Sevco Franchise', 'TCFKAR'.
    Is it all Cheesy's fault?
    ...welcome to the asylum.

    Hi there,
New to the boards - even though I've been skulking around them for a while now - and I wanted to introduce myself. I was born and raised in Northumberland and have lived here for my entire life so far. I met my wife about 8 years ago now and we struck up a conversation about Paisley - she was from the Brodie Park area and my grandparents were from the Seedhill area. I had always been proud of my roots - my grandfather had been a submariner, a shipworker and then a firefighter and my grandma had been a worker at the thread mill before they moved across to Northumberland. So I've always had that connection with Paisley.
I've been offered a job in Glasgow and the wife and I have decided to move across to Paisley and settle there. It's an opportunity I am really looking forward to. My grandfather used to love St. Mirren and spoke about them all of the time - Cunningham, Knox, McGregor and Gebbie were some of the names that he had witnessed as a teenager. Sadly, he is no longer with us, but I have always had a place in my heart for St. Mirren because of him.
Now that we're moving to the town, I've considered the possibility of getting a season ticket...
So, I was just looking to introduce myself and make a few contacts. Cheers!

I'm a huge enthusiast for real ales and I'd like to set up a thread for myself and others to share our passion for the tastiest real ales we can find on a travels.
I was inspired by the whiksy thread and thought I'd stick this in here too!
I'm certainly no snob when it comes to real ale, mind and I know that folks are gonna like what they like - course they are. However, it goes without saying that Fosters and Carling aren't gonna figure here really...
This is just a place for real ale!

I thought he was fine first half.
20 minutes at the start of the second half he just completely lost his head and made about 10 errors in that time frame.
Any player can and will have a bad game. Cheesy was good on Sat and he will be good for us again. Let's get behind him.

    It will be fine.
I'm not sure what people were expecting really. A screen that fitted over the entire corner would have cost a fortune.
If it's not people wanting grandstand signings or costly haute cuisine at hospitality, I'm sure some fans will find something else to moan about.....................
When will people realise that we are a club that tries to live within our means?
