Sad that so many are distracted by the Collum debacle.
What was most worrying yesterday apart from the insipid overall performance was the apparent disharmony on the pitch.
As others have pointed out, McLean seemed to start with a ne'erday hangover. He was sulking and moaning at his team mates from the kick-off.
When this negativity is directed at some of the younger players such as McLear it is totally unacceptable.
Eventually the rattle was thrown out of the pram and he was red carded.
What has happened behind the scenes since the Dens result?
It is quite a while since we have not been outplayed in midfield and that used to be our strong point.
Our weaknesses are spreading week by week and whilst frustration is an understandable reaction in our current position it does not help overall team morale when key players like McLean start in such a negative frame of mind.

Nobody is suggesting it is St Mirren's responsibility to clean up the mess but if Murray Street is owned by Renfrewshire Council it would be money well spent if they were to resurface the pavement and in this way present a better image of Paisley to the thousands of visiting fans who negotiate this pavement each year.
But then does anyone care enough?
Hopefully it will not require a fatal accident before anything is done about it.

The first Killie oenalty was an absolute stonewaller. Their second one didn't look a penalty for me and there is zero chance that ours was.
Scandalous from McLean. His attitude was stinking the whole game. Berating team mates from the first whistle. The way he screamed at Ridgers and Naismith was bang out of order. He had no concentration and spent too much time moaning and screaming his head off. No idea if it was a justified red, it looked like handbags to me. But his hea was down from the first minute. Something wasn't right with him today.

It shows that it took more than just good luck to secure the club's future. We didn't really have a lot of friends in high places. The BoD might have dithered a wee bit over Tommy Craig but when you look at their achievements over the piece including opposing the 888 league proposal they have played a blinder and will be a hard act to follow.

I could go on around the globe with links but its fair to say that Stephen Mallan at 18 is the most famous player in St Mirren's history!
And its interesting that the goal has been shown in many media outlets in South America. Does that help to bring in new South American buyers and attract samba skills to Paisley????
    Well done Mr Mallan

Sorry to live in the past, but having previously compared John McGinn to Archie Gemmill, my first reaction on seeing Stephen Mallan's goal was to compare it to wee Archie's goal for Scotland against Holland and also my second thought was to ask have we unearthed another Tommy Bryceland?
That has got to be the SPFL goal of the season.

No matter who the Board choose from the supposed shortleet of Butcher, Calderwood and Teale, it will be controversial. We all have our opinions and rightly so.
Personally I think we should go for Butcher with Teale included somewhere on the coaching staff.
As many have pointed out, we need an experienced wheeler and dealer, a motivator and, above all else, someone like Butcher to sort out our leaking defence. Cheesy could greatly benefit from Butcher's advice and unique experience as an international central defender.
Whilst I will be sorry to see John McGinn eventually leave the Buddies, hopefully his transfer money will help to fund Butcher's appointment plus some wheeling & dealing during the January transfer window.
What will be roundly criticised by the fans is if the Board goes for the cheap option yet again.

Ok we`ll have to wait for the highlights but from where i was sitting (south stand) heres my take on today
Thommos Red could easily have been yellow to the Well player for a lunge from behind.
The ball was defo over the line
McLeans penalty was in the "seen them given " category
West stand linesman giving offside when a well player heads back to his keeper & plays Mclean in !!
Chopped off goal . Difficult to say , looked offside.
Why was Lasley not booked for judo throw on Mcginn ?
Ref : the well No2 was ripping the piss out of you with his time wasting .
    Osborne looked f**ked !
    Positives .
The players looked well up for it
Mclean should have an extra day off, what a shift he put in today (pity bout his free kick)
The two young boys looked decent & seemed to click with the guys.
    The atmosphere was 100% better
When was the last time the team were clapped off thepark ? never mind after a defeat !

Congratulations to John on being nominated in this elite company.
I don't know how many others would compare him with Archie Gemmill at the same stage in their development?
This should be an encouragement to the other young players who are coming through the development team and also to Kenny McLean who has a different set of skills from McGinn.

I tend to agree Teale should be given a chance. The argument that because he's not long qualified as a coach must mean he can't be any good doesn't hold water for me. I have been coached and coached at various levels in football and other sports and some of the best I have seen had zero formal qualifications. Of course experience is valuable, but you don't need to be old to be wise and nouse and enthusiasm count too. He could be a natural coach and there's no doubt about his playing credentials. I'd be more concerned about the change in relationship from team mate to manager but hardly a deal breaker. At the end of the day the real problem we have is the general weakness of the squad which I can't see being sufficiently strengthened in January.

A journalists list of the top 100 emerging talents in the world, and our meatball is on it. Him, Ryan Christie and Andrew Robertson are the only Scottish kids there.

I need my head examined then. Mark has been one of our best players recently, when he makes a mistake people cannie wait to pounce.
How about Kenny McLean's 2 fresh air strikes or when he ran offside. He cost us 3 goals.
