I am honest to god gobsmacked by some of our so called supporters on here. Jack Ross turned one of the most boring weak saints sides I can remember  into champions in 18 months. I don't know what the dealings were between the  clubs but some of things I have seen on here are out of order.

Jack has delt with this with a huge amount of dignity and respect for St Mirren and, for once, St Mirren has delt with a very difficult situation with a huge amount of dignity.  How refreshing is that given the shambles that is Rangers and the arrogance that is celic? Well done Gordon!
At least we didn't sack Jack for no reason whatsoever (Fergie!)
I am far more grateful for what Jack has done for us than gutted that he and James have left and believe me, I am absolutely gutted, but we could not stand in his way.
Jack Ross is SMTID, he played, he led, he managed, he delivered.  Our club, Love Street and the new ground, The Northbank, Paisley and all we have loved together over the last 20 months will remain in his heart and wherever he is managing, he will send us players and look for our result.
Good luck Jack, thanks for everything!

I think the true meaning for Jack is that he will always have a place for the club in his heart. He enjoyed his time as a player, and his memories from the last 18 months will stick in his mind forever. It could well be his best time in football, taking a club from guaranteed relegation to title winners in a short space of time.
It may be OTT to say SMTID, but perhaps it's his way of trying to say how much this club means to him. OTT maybe, as you say it's the fans who stick with a club thick and thin. But I believe his words are genuine. Best of luck to him (although I hope Argyle beat them to the title!)

Too many fans acting like f**king jilted teenagers over the last few days.

Jack has been brilliant for this club over the last 18 months and this is unquestionable. Yet, the minute his leadership attracts the interest of other, bigger, clubs who would pay him ridiculously more money we’re hearing things about his lack of professionalism (not this poster) the uncertainly and speculation he attracts (see 18 months of success), his “approach to career building” (WTF?), his heart not being in it and dragging up a mess from years ago that is (or certainly f**king should be) long forgotten.

It’s almost as if some of you want to to get your digs in before he moves so you can justify your emotions in the aftermath by reminding everyone you had seen through this man anyway and we’re better off without him. Just like, if you go back to my original point, many young lovers act when they get dumped for the first time.

This is how football is these days and has been for a long time now. Jack owes us f**k all. The partnership has been mutually beneficial and if he chooses to better his career and financial prospects with a bigger club then he should do so with our blessing for the style of football and success he’s brought to us.

I honestly despair with St Mirren fans sometimes. Less than three weeks after clinching the title and some have resorted to type. Get over yourselves.

Also, since when would Ipswich be regarded as a “hell hole”?

Goodness no, don't be so outrageous

No all that happened was the site was hacked by North Korean and Chinese operatives who flooded the website with Chinese style writing in an attempt to overrun Div's big massive servers in a "DOS" (denial of service) attack.  The state funded cyber warfare agencies are obviously targeting this forum due to it's intellectual debate and as such this forum stands as a symbol of western free thinking, thus marking it out as an enemy of the communist states.  As such Div (whose real identity must remain a closely guarded secret) is obviously a marked man who is clearly being sought by foreign intelligence agencies, either in an attempt to use him as a double agent or indeed to eliminate him (that is murder him).  If Div is found dead having "choked" on a chicken ball or a spring roll then I will start an angry thread about it!!!!

Yes cyber warfare has indeed reached Paisley.

Anyway, this incident is nothing unusual, I don't know why anyone would jump to such a crazy conclusion as you did, crazy conclusion as you did indeed!

The thing I like about the fan voted awards is that it isn't necessarily need to be the "best" player who wins them. It's sometimes a player that the fans just relate to, a player who maybe never goes missing, never hides, is always there. Barron fitted that bill in the season he won the award, as did Vanzy when he won it. Neither were technically the best player in their respective teams, far from it, but they got the fans award anyway. I quite like that to be honest!
Morgan undoubtedly been an enormous part of what we have achieved this season, but there is also an argument that his form dipped for maybe 2 months at the start of the year and he wasn't quite as effective during that spell. He's back on it now and playing really well again (IMO) and that is not a criticism of him btw, I think his form dipped partly because he's still a young player and partly because teams were doubling up on him or booting him all over the park.
I voted Cammy Smith as my player of the year because I don't think his form dipped at all through the season. Morgy got my young player vote.
    All about opinions!

Its a bit far for me so I am afraid I wont manage it.  Its a few things, my knees are not in great shape, well one of them is plastic, also I would be somewhat out of breath by the time we reached the railway bridge, also I would get a sweat on and most likely suffer chaffing where my ballsack rubs against my inner thigh.  The chaffing is the worst, red raw they get and with the recent cold snap (that I survived) over I fear all the nivea cream in semi-chem wouldnt help.  I hope it goes well and the scumbags from Greenock dont try to ruin it in any way, time was I would have smashed one of the bastards on the head with a brick or lamped a couple with a knuckleduster but due to arthritis and generally being as weak as piss  it is important that an old red raw bawed man like me avoids such contact with scum dwelling scoundrels.

Anyway enjoy it lads, I truly hope that the Greeock underclass leaves you to enjoy it and none of our number end up with a broken drum over the head and a pair of drum sticks inserted in there anal cavity.  Avoid trouble and enjoy, avoid trouble and enjoy indeed.

A bit of karma against a player who has a fantastic record against us
    Step forward Ryan Hardie
In all my days i have never seen a half hearted waster playing for us
Some haven't been good enough but least tried
Not this man never tried a leg for us and certainly good enough as he has shown against us

I'd like to see Reilly back in for this one.  The guy has scored 20+ goals this season but has been replaced by Mullen who only has 2 goals so far. Reilly's goals were key for so long and they aren't being replaced.

If we didn’t know it before then the past few days have confirmed it we are one big Saints Family. Post after post on here and on twitter by saints fans offering lifts to others who don’t have cars. The minute someone asks “anybody have a spare seat” right away someone else has offered. Haven’t seen that before. Just shows you how good it is to be a saints fan just now. Truly are Buddies.

Official club statement is 150-200 only to be admitted at the gate - that is madness as we seem to be way under capacity. We need Brechin to say publicly how many they will let in as plenty are not going to go as it stands at the minute which is a travesty !!!!!

The fans who have turned up this season can be proud of their team and the support they have given them especially at away matches.
However with a population base of 176,000 in Renfrewshire, it could be argued that the greater Paisley area does not deserve St Mirren.
The Buddie Buoys and the Buddie Bears are a strange sectarian breed.

Virtually pishin ma breeks with excitement about this trip.
One more day in the hell hole I call work, then it’s up to Sneck on Friday wi ma auld mucker Jimmy H.
Some casual beveraging will be undertaken on the Friday evening in welcoming hostelries such as the Glenalbyn, Gellions, Lauders and if our old quintigenarian bones (not boners) are up to it, maybe finish the night off in Johnny Fox’s.
Up on Saturday for a sturdy breakfast and in the boozer by lunch time for a few sedate pre match cocktails. Then head to watch our glorious Buddies take one step further towards inevitable glory, whilst exercising my vocal chords alongside our highly venerated drum major and his accomplished boy band.
When the final whistle sounds (shortly after our 6th goal), clap off our heroes and then high tail it back to the Gellions for a veritable extravaganza of traditional Scottish folk in the hands of the magnificent Schiehallion (the lead singer big Kenny is a Sons fan so banter may be had). An appropriate amount of scoopage to follow which will hopefully result in an early finish and avoid ending up in establishments not suited for auld codgers such as oorgidsels.
Sunday up and into the hire car for a wee tour of my beloved west coast. Down to Torridon for elevensies and then a wee trip round the Applecross peninsula. Langoustines for lunch at the Applecross Inn and then down the splendid Bealach na Ba. From there doon to Glen Shiel (tipping the bunnet to Eilean Donan Castle on the way passed). Stop for a quick beer at Kintail Lodge before completing the circuit back to Sneck.
A few contemplative bevvies on Sunday night before heading home on Monday.
    Carlsberg.......weekends.......you do the rest.
    Can you tell I’m excited??

What a weekend. I'm going to miss those jaunts to Dumfries.
The best thing about the day was, in the main, the togetherness of the team and the support. The St Mirren Family and I mean that quite literally had an absolute ball. Travelling with the Buds every week you get to meet a few of the players and their families but Dumfries was overflowing with our heroes nearest and dearest. Players Dad's, Girlfriends etc were all out in force having a laugh and supporting the Saints. I heard a story in the Pub after the game about big Harry Davis sitting at the match with his two kids. Big Harry might be able to stop the biggest, baddest, ugliest forwards in the league but apparently he couldn't catch his two waynes who were clambering all over the stands and giving him the runaround.
On the park wasn't it just great to see the players celebrate with the fans. Wee Lewis Morgan really wanted us to know what it meant to him and Kyle was no different.  Well done wee Danny Mullen for his first goal too and what about Stelios. That boy really does wear his heart on his sleeve. The way he was egging us on you would have thought he had scored. I do like that boy.
After the game I had the good fortune to spend a bit of time with Gavin Reilly on the train Journey to Carlisle.  What a great couple of guys him and his dad are. I won't bore you with all the details but Gavin did confirm what we already know in that Jack Ross is the man, and that the players love the support they get from the stands.
He made special mention of the "Cammy Cammy" song and told some funny stories about the effect it had on training after the Aberdeen game. Every player knew the words to the chant by the end of the game and while it didn't stop them hurting after a 4-1 doing, it sort of helped them get over it and it was in there heads for a lot longer that the 33 minute rendition we gave them. The players thought the supporters were especially brilliant that day.
A special mention to the Queens fans who made us very welcome in the Devorgilla bar. We got a wee sing song going about "the Queens fans manners and how they spend their tanners heading to Dumfries on the railway line"
Later on one of the young ladies in our company asked me what a tanner was. I tried to explain it was a sixpence or half a shilling but she was none the wiser. "Two and Half pence" I explained.
She looked at me as if I was daft "Half Pence"    Oh Well. One benefit of being an old fud is I can remember 3 title wins (although in my lifetime there have been four) and two major cup wins.
It definitely looks like another Party is coming soon.
See you all for the Next Game.

I don't know what all the fuss about drinking on the train is all about we're on for just over an hour and a half. I'm not a big fan of morning drinking so hitting the pubs after midday is good enough for me. However, i don't think the choice should be taken away from people who can handle a can of beer on the journey down. The assumption from the police that every St Mirren fan is a potential Jack Daniels swilling, coke snorting junkie out for trouble is quite offensive... Put a few police on the train and chip any trouble makers off, how hard would that have been?

This might be a result of the "same old, same old" approach adopted in the past. These are,or have the opportunity to be, new times for new ways.
    Here is a cheeky suggestion.
As last year's great initiative offer fans the opportunity to keep the whole west stand but only if they buy 1,300 tickets this time. But SMISA to operate a fund for a further 100 senior and 100 under 18 tickets with the money to be raised by donation from the fans.  I for one would donate £50. This would help to build the "St Mirren" family. Happy to name it after Tosh or Tam McGarry. Just an idea...someone might have a better one.
A lot of people will spend that and more on night out.
