Sad - but the pessimists are in the majority on this topic.
When we 'peaked' in the 80s, Rangers and Celtic were averaging about half what they get now.
Hearts and Hibs are now at almost record attendance levels and Aberdeen have failed to replicate St Mirren in attendance decline since the 80s.
So this is not necessarily part of a national decline in attendances - more a local one due to the fact that we have not enjoyed much success in staying in the top six in Scotland since the 80s.
I am not saying that we are ready to invest in expanding the stadium at this moment in time, but to aim for say 10,000+ (on at least ten times a season) within five successful years in the Scottish Premiership is not an unreasonable target for a town the size of Paisley.
I am afraid that there will be more than a few struggling to get a seat at our dinky little junior football stadium next season if interest in the Scottish Premiership grows as anticipated by some pundits.

That makes sense - only if you consider that St Mirren are incapable of growing to meet future demand.
Perhaps you are too young to remember being squashed into Love Street with 30,000+ for a Scottish cup tie with Celtic.
Then you will point out that we have deteriorated from these heady days and there is no way back - especially with your pessimistic outlook.

How can thousands stand “safely “ at gigs through the land and have a drink ,yet a couple of hundred footie fans need a special area with special handrails and extra stewards ?

You're wrong there. 
Thats a false comparison. People are going to stand regardless. So the real safety comparison is: Do you want people standing at seats or do you want people standing at "safe standing"? 
The latter is clearly safer and therefore worth the 50 quid.

Just make the filled in corners the standing areas - simple.  No sight line issues from anyone seated in the stands.

Be nice to see some movement on staff, players or backroom, before the end of the week.
Pure impatience on my part, I do recognise that it's worth the wait to get the right people at the right price - I'm just desperate to see our squad assembled in time for them to gel before the start of the season.

Last year's opening games involved the promoted team playing the team that came 6th. 
Extrapolating my theory (good that init?) the following may happen.
That would be St. Mirren v Hearts for this season.
Looking at the way the SPL started last season, Celtic v Hearts would be Celtic v Kilmarnock this season.
Last season Aberdeen v Hamilton, would be Aberdeen v Livingston (Partick were second bottom)
Last season Motherwell v Rangers, would be Dundee v Rangers.
Last season  St. Johnstone v Kilmarnock, would be Hibs v St. Johnstone.
Last season Dundee v Ross County,  would be Motherwell v Hamilton.

The JD redesign of the 87 kit was superb, just a shame we didn't make the cup final in order to wear it.

All I did was measure the thickness of the stripes on an old Fergie’s Furies era shirt, then basically ask Richard Atkinson to get JD Sports to marry it with all-white shorts and socks. The biggest (only?) decision was a round neck or V neck collar, and should the collar be white or black. Pretty much came down to the toss of a coin and we went with round neck. JD did a great job with the sponsor logo on that kit though. That was their remit and they did it right.
Design time on that kit: two minutes.
That was the point though. Just keep it simple. Black and white stripes really can be simple to get right. Juventus mostly manage it every season.

Best strips we had were when we had the fans design them (pozbaird). If we truly are able to have bespoke Joma kits then I’ve no idea why we don’t get the fans involved again.

Maybe this kit will be excellent though, I’m not writing it off on the back of a teaser!

Also, I'm quite sure our head of youth development was roundly loathed by our support as an opposition player and revelled in the abuse dished out at him.
I also reckon the majority on here will agree he's done a decent job since filling David Longwell's shoes. 

Yeah. I can't remember ever taking umbrage with Darren Jackson. Indeed, he spent the majority of his career operating at a higher level then we were playing at, at that point. 
Don't really see the issue in this if he's come in as a coach. Welcome to the club, Darren.

I can't remember what his "crime" was.
 

I'm sure that both the arsecheeks have their own TV for overseas fans so I can't see how the SPFL  or the pay TV companies could possibly stop this service.
