Thommo/Ball
Kenny and John can switch between the advanced and deep role at their leisure and Marwood and Wylde give us genuine pace down the flanks. Can't see us ever starting with Thommo and Ball, but if we are behind going into the last half hour I expect it will happen. It's good to have a plan B!

The lad was offered terms by an English club too, but decided to he wanted to come North having settled in really well with the team over the last few days.
Came to Saints through the Gary Teale Derby connection albeit he was only a kid when Teale was there.
General feeling is that if we can get this lad into shape he could be a great signing.

This a cracking signing.
We've signed 3 young strikers with loads of potential this summer. Ball could well top the lot.
He may well turn out to be the new Michael Higdon!
Tommy Craig has played a blinder so far this summer. I have a feeling this this is going to be a fantastic season.

Ball certainly looks like he will play a big part for us next season. Thompson should be available for the Motherwell game, but I expect he won't be fit enough to start and that Ball will.
Still think our captain will be first choice for the majority of the season. Expect that Ball will start a fair few in his stead though, especially if we have 3 games in a week. Doing that and even Ball replacing Hawk for the last 20/30 minutes of games will mean Thompson will be effective for longer at this level. It will be good for Callum too, he's a young player and he will learn a lot from Thommo and could be his long term replacement.
I think that may be our last permanent signing. Hoping at least 2 more coming in on loan from the EPL though.

Sheikh Mansour has stated he plans to build a global empire of football clubs. He has one in England, Australia and USA.
He invests in facilities more than football clubs, that's why he picked Man City, because they had that stadium. We have excellent facilities, a new stadium and the third best youth academy in Scotland. The Man City coaches who came up to see our training ground when Plummer came up were glowing about it, and I assume this would have reached HQ at City.
£2 million for us would be coppers to a man of his wealth. We could rebrand the stadium - which is right beside the airport - as the Etihad and we would be a relatively local and handy place for Man City to test their academy players. Oh and, if he wants to throw 10 million at the team...
Saying all that, it's probably not going to happen, but it's not ridiculous.

It's not the results either, which you can't read too much into, it's the way the players are playing and the vibe around the squad. It seems like there's a really good balance between the experienced lads and the young ones and everyone can't wait for the season to start.

Some of our forum user's are somewhat guilty of underestimating just how great our football club really is. We are a really good club to sign for and I am sure many player's would be impressed with our set up, position, team spirit, wonderful fans (especially me) and hugely talented manager.
Tommy will make the right decision and it will need to be a damn good offer to turn the lads head elsewhere. If the ball boy was to refuse a contract at our great and good club then deep down he will know that he will regret it for years to come.

I see no reason to help Aberdeen with their European venture (though I understand that's not the reason).

There is something hugely refreshing (and exciting) about embarking on a season with a squad largely made up of young players who look eager to get in and about the league, as opposed to the usual suspects like Harkins and Grainger who have been round the block and seem content just to coast along on a decent wage without having to turn it on when they take to the field. These young players are all in the early stages of their careers, and will be keen to impress and aim for bigger things in due course. Back them up with a few solid, experienced pros who know the club and know their status and roles at St Mirren, and we have a recipe for moving things forward in a positive way.

St Mirren play in black and white, that's all I'm concerned about. If I like the strip, I'll buy it, if I don't I won't. Using this logic I've bought one replica strip new in the last ten years, that was the 12/13 strip in which we won the cup.
If you don't like the strip, don't buy it. I'm more concerned about what we do on the park rather than what we wear. If we finish top six this year I doubt there will be much moaning about the strip we wore whilst doing it.

You mate are out of order. No matter Mark's limitations, he gives 100% and loves the club. The lad is injured and we should support any injured player and not, as you are doing, firing cheap shots and coming over as a bitter and sad person. Your vitriole will not lead to TC getting rid of Cheesy. In fact, I will leave the judgement of how good Cheesy is to the manager who I am sure is a better judge. If you want to see a class centre half or central defender then go to the Etihad instead.
