Lambert hasn't knocked us back. 
The tabloids said the other day it's thought he'd prefer a return to England but he certainly hasn't ruled us out.
Similarly, Hopkin said he sees his future in England but that doesn't mean he's removed himself from the running. 
The only manager to definitively exclude himself from contention at this point is Jim Goodwin.

Aye, it wasn't in the best of circumstances, but let's take a wee step back and appreciate what they achieved while they were here. That won't be erased, and we are all benefiting from their efforts.

I think the true meaning for Jack is that he will always have a place for the club in his heart. He enjoyed his time as a player, and his memories from the last 18 months will stick in his mind forever. It could well be his best time in football, taking a club from guaranteed relegation to title winners in a short space of time.
It may be OTT to say SMTID, but perhaps it's his way of trying to say how much this club means to him. OTT maybe, as you say it's the fans who stick with a club thick and thin. But I believe his words are genuine. Best of luck to him (although I hope Argyle beat them to the title!)

I guess when the season finished I was proper excited about the new season ahead and what might be, feel disillusioned I guess

While I don’t agrue the fact money is a big factor and all of us in a normal job would jump at that wage rise, I just feel disappointed in jack a wee bit with the big speech of that he’s wanting to build of things with us and take us to the next level, I guess I feel a little let down if he goes.

I'm really disappointed that Jack appears to have gone behind the club's back when he's beat the drum so often about the importance of trust.

Especially as we don't appear to have been standing in his way previously.

I'm thankful for the last 18 months and hope his career pans out the way he wants it to but I do feel he is leaving under a bit of a darkened cloud.

I reckon we all do.
