I hope the team are on form from the start.  Don't give Motherwell the slightest of hope and be on the front foot.
    St. Mirren 2-1 Motherwell.

Agreed. But even if Kettlewell is still in charge on Saturday, there's still the old custom of generous St. Mirren giving a team in difficulties a hand to break out of a bad run. We've seen it all too often over the years. So, no complacency, a repeat of last Saturday's performance, everybody in good form and playing at full blast please.

I hope Stuart Kettlewell doesn't get his marching orders. His coat's obviously hanging on a shoogly peg, but I'm hoping today's draw will buy him a little more time.

On the game its a much better forum today than after StJ match where a number of people were losing the run of themselves.
Sometimes a losing run allows the manager to reassess which Robinson has done.
Nahmani and Small really took their chance yesterday. Both look real talents, a bit surprised given their showing yesterday that the had to wait so long.
Nahmani and Ayunga worked really well together. Nahamani reminded me a bit of Dargo with his movement and Ayunga was superb especially second half.
Small looks a real prospect if he can develop and be consistent. Looks the real emotional type so needs to keep that in check too. Only issue with him on the right hand side is that he keeps trying to shift back to his left.
Also thought Olusanya was decent when he came on. Taking a bit of a belting on here recently. Frightening pace and strength just needs to get his final ball right and improve his finishing and there is a real player in there. Not surprised Warnock rated him

Far more positive in our play today. Enjoyed Stav and Jonah as a front two and would like to see them start next week. Created numerous chances and deserved the 3 points. Good response after a tough couple of results.

Now that my victory induced euphoria is starting to subside a little, I’m allowing my natural, default grumpiness to creep back in and thinking that todays result and performance makes the last 2 games even more annoying. Should’ve bloody had another 6 points.

    Observations from today….
Henming - flapped at a couple of corners but was generally solid and pulled off a cracking save at a time when going 2-1 would’ve made for a very nervy end to the game.
Small - massive improvement on McMenamin at RWB.
Tanser - not his best day by his high standards this season, but still decent.
CBs - Hmmmm, still some very ropey moments (especially Taylor) but a clean sheet means that they can’t have been that bad.
Midfield - Much better all round. Especially after Baccus came on.
Ayunga and Nahmani a triumph up front. With better finishing they could’ve had a least 5 goals between them, but genuine signs of a proper partnership and I’m sure goals will come. Was delighted with Nahmani and just wish he could’ve got a goal.

Ayunga and Nachmani looked threatening all game Ayunga looked really sharp if they both had taken the chances we'd have won that in a canter

Credit to the team today after, what has been, a tough spell. Shown a lot of character to get a winning return when we could easily have started to lose confidence. Especially having lost to late goals in two of our recent away defeats.
credit also to the fans who continue to turn out in numbers.
well done and deserved today 👍🏻

'Pessimism' and 'pessimistic' are perhaps too strong, but I certainly think we will travel with a degree of apprehension tonight.
I agree with W6er that current form is a better indicator than league placings.
Not so long ago I would have said we should collect 6 or 7 points at least from our next 3 games (St Johnstone, Ross County, Motherwell), but now I have to drop that estimate to 4 or 5 points. The first 2 teams have new managers and seem to have turned a corner. Like us, Motherwell are on a bad run and continue to struggle.
This is SR's first real challenge of the season. He needs to get the players out of the rut and back to the form we showed in early season. Can he do it? I sincerely hope so. So.........

It's a discussion forum. I wouldn't have posted if I didn't want to read other people's views, particularly of my own opinion. No offence taken at all.
I would say that FORM IS FAR MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN LEAGUE STANDINGS. This is St. Johnstone's home form:

    Drawn - Won - Drawn - Won - Lost
Their loss came against the Scottish Champions, whom they led for a good portion of the game.

So, we have a home team that has taken eight points from their last five home games, versus a team that has taken one point from their last five away games.
They looked a poor side when they visited Paisley, that's true, but they seem to have found some form and now have Levein in charge.

I don't think pessimism is unreasonable given our form.
Our support will reflect society in general. Some people will have a ridiculously optimistic outlook, like @shull who always seems to predict 3-0 victories, at the other end of the scale there will be folk like @elvis. Most of us will fall somewhere in between. I think it's a bit pointless to berate people for their lack of confidence in the team at this time. On the contrary, I find the overly optimistic types to be more irritating.
This is our current away form:

Drawn - Lost - Lost -Lost - Lost...do you not see a pattern, here?
Admittedly, two of those losses were to the Old Firm, so perhaps the picture's not as bleak as it first appears. However, we got hammered by Dundee and managed one shot on target away to Ross County.
We have a good squad and an excellent manager, but anybody who does not accept that something has gone wrong is in denial.
I would happily take a draw tomorrow night and would be delighted with a win. I thought our performance at Ibrox was pretty good and I'm hoping we return to our early-season form, but I cannot blame folk for feeling pessimistic.

Been struggling for a few weeks now. Another poor performance against a very poor team who had one home win this season and hadn’t won in 10 games. Sounds like shocking defending for their goal too.
A visit to Ibrox at the weekend. More like the saints we know and love. Going to need a couple of big buses to park on Sunday. 🙈
Feel for the buddies that managed to travel up there tonight. Safe trek home.

Our worst result in the league so far this season.
Robinson has a job on his hands over the next few weeks to prevent a collapse in form and a slide down the table.
    Crucial December ahead.

We should be targeting a minimum of 4 points from our next 2 games. With our home form and recent record against Livi, i reckon Saturday stands the best chance of gaining 3 of those points.
The reverse fixture through there earlier in the season was a tight affair, but Livi have been struggling for a win recently ( 5 defeats on the bounce).
    Can see a 2-1 or 2-0 us.

To be honest, given how horrendous a performance yesterday was, I think generally the criticism has been fairly measured and I think that’s because supporters DO recognise what has gone before.
But just because we’ve been good so far, shouldn’t excuse the players from criticism when they are as bad as they were yesterday.
As has been said though, hopefully the break is coming at a good time for us and we can sort out what has gone wrong in the last couple of games.
My main concern is the possibility that other teams have worked us out and started playing us at our own game. If that’s the case and they end up being better at it than us, Robbo is going to need to come up with a different plan.

Simply not good enough but it’s only one game. We are having a brilliant season and as stated before still remember some of that 90’s dross.
I’m still haunted by Peter Duffield scoring late winners against us.
In short, everyone in the team has a reality check and comes back ready for the fight once more.
