I don't agree for 8 of last 10 years we have been a predominantly bottom 3 SPL team then 2 years where we spent alot of time at bottom of the championship.
The only people who think we are a big team are certain fans on here.
Of course if East Fife thought they could make a good profit they would build a temporary stand but according to previous post on here we are likely to get around 1000 tickets does anybody honestly think we would take 500-1000 more to justify East Fife layout.
Lets say East Fife decide to order a temporary stand sometime this week as game is only 2 weeks away from Saturday in the meantime we lose to Falkirk and Dumbarton will East Fife still think it was a good idea???

Well , The Rangers were only 8 places above them at the time and they were a new team.

We must have made a few quid in the Cup that season.Next round we were at home to the original rangers  (remember them?) in front of over 32000 fans.

For me the Mobray game, just days after the horror game that we dare not mention, me and a few buds that were expecting a humping and decided to go anyway, SACKED IN THE MORNING, Andy Dorman and wee Stevie Thomson... and then St Murrns Day, a few months before I had to move back to Oz to work... whit a time it was.. I feckin love Paisley.

Nah, leave him exactly where he is. If folk opt to join him for a wee discourse, that's their lookout, but I'm very much appreciating the respite from his relentless pish.

But if you're looking for a team. This is it

A choice of two decent keepers.
Young and Beckett at full back.
Copland Reid Dunlop Fulton and McCormack all capable in the central defence slots.

    Midfield......... Spoilt for choice.
Fitzy Aber Lexy Stark Scanlon Speirs

Up front a combination we can only dream of today.
Somner McDougall McAvennie with Supersub for the 2nd half!

The club barely sells 400 tickets on a matchday! - What chance of profiteering on a 50 hour (min) retail outlet?

Great to hear from you Roddy. As Ally said, let's grab a beer next time he's up. Maybe drag your brother along as well and he can gloat about Thistle being above us (for once!)

Sometimes I wonder why I bother running this site, I genuinely do.
Then I read threads like this and I remember exactly why.
    Great thread.

Not sure if its an age thing but it's amazing how many of us started our Saints odyssey during the Fergie era. Possibly we are all just "of an age" however I think there was something magically attractive about the club during the late 70s to mid 80s. Big crowds, exciting football and a real media interest fuel's the public's imagination. In our current doldrums you wonder if we will ever see the likes again. As I have said often enough over the years oh for just one more European away day while I am still just about in control of my faculties. Seems a light year away right now.

That doesn't answer my question, though.
I asked how you have come up with a GDP calculation for an independent Scotland of the future. Like me, you have absolutely no idea what the detail of an economic settlement based on the share of national debt and assets would be. That is why I am not guessing what a GDP calculation might be, much less how one might extrapolate a national deficit from this.
Again, you are selectively snatching at any available analysis that suits your argument, when, in reality, you really don't have the first clue what an independent Scotland might look like.
My position is that I really don't know whether it would work out for the best in economic terms, but I'm willing to take that punt based on how abject this toxic union has become.  Frankly, I don't identify with the UK in any way, whatsoever.  I want out of it.
It is also worth pointing out that comparisons with the situation in Greece are absolutely spurious. Anyone with a modicum of understanding of the recent history of the Greek economy would know this.

The pont was - We can use WHATEVER currency we like! - As can any other independent country!!
