Gavin and Stacey has got to be the biggest load of shite I have ever seen on telly followed a very close second by Garry tank commander.
The best show for me is the Professionals.- Great acting and thrilling story lines. Crime fighting at its gritty best.

Now if I rember correctly we qualified for the UEFA Cup with this result.I also think this was McAvennies last game for Saints before joining West Ham.
Lots of fighting at this one with the Hearts fans coming on the pitch and coming to the front of the NB trying to get Saints Fans to join them.Campbell Money spoiled the day by coming over and pleading with the Saints Fans to stay on the terraces.I have the game on tape somewhere but cant find highlights on You Tube.

Aye, a jogging thread, that's the way forward.
I Used to love my vegetable garden in Meikleriggs, became quite addictave.
Potatoes, onions, beetroot, carrots and a wee strawberry patch.
Out in all weathers, the battle with slugs all worth it when eating the lovely produce.
Also had a few plum trees.
Cannie be arsed anymore but adimiration for those who do.

The boundary is the railway line at Linwood Toll.
Elderslie starts at the tenaments after Aldi's but the railway bridge leading to Linwood Road is Paisley.
Linwood doesn't start until after the roundabout leading to the motorway

A parrot was a present from a friend. Fully grown, with a bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was an expletive, and those that weren't were... rude.

The new owner tried hard to change the bird's attitude and was constantly saying polite words, playing soft music, anything he could think of to try and set a good example. Nothing worked. He yelled at the bird and the bird yelled back. He shook the bird and the bird just got more rude.

Finally, in a moment of desperation, he put the parrot in the freezer. For a few moments he heard the bird squawk and kick and scream. Then suddenly there was quiet. Not a sound for half a minute. Frightened that he might have hurt the bird, he quickly opened the freezer door.

The parrot calmly stepped out and said: 'I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I will endeavour at once to correct my behaviour. I really am truly sorry and beg your forgiveness.'

Astonished at the bird's change in attitude, the owner was about to ask what had made such a dramatic change when the parrot continued: 'May I ask what the chicken did?'

As you can probably appreciate, it's not prudent for me to comment at this time but will do so at a more appropriate time. Thank you.

Well since you've mentioned me more than three times I feel the need to respond.
I was actually staying off the topic because I don't believe that what DSS has said supposed to have said is illegal or that he should have been arrested for it. I do think he is a twat for using a football match as the venue for his political statement and I do think he's a fool if he thinks any Celtic player of Israeli descent can do anything to assist in freeing Palestine. But arrested? Well that seems like a waste of taxpayers money to me - unless it's not quite as has been reported by Bluto. If it is then hopefully the Procurator Fiscal will ensure the case is dropped before it ever gets to the courts.

I fear this might just be an unfortunate misunderstanding.
Is it not possible that DSS was simply calling out encouragement to Isma Goncalves who could have scored his third goal against Celtic in as many games?
    "Three pal, this time!"
FFS, that was truly awful. I've already got my coat and I'm heading out the door.....

Like all of you I too am a bit confused as to why he shouted that. But Celtic are trying to raise there figures for stats for religious hatred against them.
However, the bit that really annoys me is that if you you are an old firm fan you can behave in any vulgar manner you like and if you are not an old firm fan then you even slightly annoy either the club or there fans (of both sides of the old firm) you will be made an example of.
Surely this type of behaviour from the authorities just encourages old firm fans to act like animals?

    Good Afternoon All
its taken me til this point in my week to find the time to grab a break from work and watching endles re-runs of the goals to sit down at the pc and share my memories and experiences with you.
I attended the cup final on Sunday with my Dad and son, Also present was my Girlfriend Louise and 2 work mates Gaz ( evertonian) and Downsey(scouser).
My dad and i stood together in 1987 and sat bleaky together at the final that now never needs to be mentioned in 2010.
I have taken my son Robert to around 6 Saints games - (he is 9) and they have all been at GHR. Robert is a bit of a lucky omen as he hasn't actually seen us get beat.Til this season his fav player was Nigel Hasselbank as Nigel had kindly signed his programme before one match v Aberdeen i think when he came on as sub and scored the winner?
This season he got his programme signed by Dougie Imrie and Graham Carey. He goes to school in liverpool and is the only kid in his class who has heard of st mirren - he has Thompson in his fifa 13 dream team!
Louise has been to a number of Saints games with me - notable ones are Inverness away in 2006 New Years day and Bells Cup Final where Div gave her a ticket for free pre match in the Horseshoe Bar. Lou is kind enough to tolerate my Saints obsession anytime the buddies are on the tv.
Downsey and Gaz have heard me banging on about the Saints for years - they routinely try to kick me as i wear my Saints top at weekly 5's
Downsey and Gaz attended their first Saints game this season in the season opener 2-2 draw with Inverness they loved our wee ground and got quiet excited about plane spotting!
My cup final weekend started at 6pm Friday night. I picked Robert up from his mum and got back to our's to meet up with Downsey and Lou to have a few friday night beverages. At 9pm Gaz arrived - more beer followed - Bed by 1am and up at 7-30am to get taxi to the station at 8-45am for the 9-14 train Warrington Bank Quay to Glasgow.
Feeling very rough on the train we cracked open our first can about 11am as we crossed the border into Scotland.
On arrival into the city we jumped the local train up to Hillfoot were we were met by my dad. The 3 lads took an hour to shift some gravel and grab a bacon butty and cuppa.
Robert stayed with his grandparents and me , Lou , Downsey and Gaz headed back into the city to check into our Hotel. Once checked in it was time to begin the cup final swally in earnest. Drinks were consumed in a variety of city centre locations before retiring for the night around 1am
Up and ready to rock and roll by 10am i had proper genuine nervous excitement tingly tum!
A breakfast in the Kings Cafe in charing cross followed by a taxi ride down to Waxy Oconnors was the order of the day
At 10-58am we were knocking on the door and were the first patrons over the door!
After a few guiness we popped over to Horseshoe bar and mingled with loads of Saints and Hearts fan.
I met my dad at 1-30 and we got the first available train up to Mt Florida. Regretably i never got to go to the Clockface to meet a few of the buddies of this site but we arrived at Hampden around 2-15
3-5PM - possibly the best , most nerve racking 2 hours of my adult life!
On fulltime - my dad , Robert and me embraced in a huge hug - i was nearly starting to greet. I look up and my dad was gone!.It cost me £150 for tkts for everyone but it was worth every penny for that moment which i will forever treasure!
As we were booked on the 6-30pm train from Glasgow back to Warrington - we excited the stadium moments after we lifted the cup. We got a bus backinto the town and settled down on the train with moments to spare ( thank god there was no extra time!)
Me Downsy and Gaz demolished 20 cans of stella on the return journey - In our carrage there was a small contingent of Hearts fans who were considerate in defeat and complimentary of our team. On arrival back in Warrington we excited the train at 9-15pm and Robert was collected by his mum - Robert looked magnificant in his Saints top , scarf and pint of Guiness hat!
We poped over to the Patten arms for 2 pints last orders and arrived back in my house about 11.
I took this to be the occassion to open my Buddie Blend whisky i got for my 40th!
I am sad i didnt get to go to Paisley on the Sunday evening - my dad went and said it was brilliant - but this really was one of the most memorable weekends of my life

Made the trip from Canada with two of my boys (photos in the PDE). I was also home for the 87 final but for some reason the buzz around this final was may more than the 87. The team was great, the crowd was great and it was great to expose my boys to the team they call the buddies and to understand why we love them so much.
Win the cup, back to Paisley for the parade, couple of pints and a curry to finish off the night and then it was back on the plane to Toronto first thing Monday morning.
    Priceless.

Me and my bro were marooned in London, so went to the RobRoy pub – us 2 St Mirren fans and about 20 Hearts fans. Was a wee bit like the pub in American Werewolf in London when they saw our shirts. They looked like they felt sorry for us for the first 36 minutes though, then total disbelief, then more total disbelief and then even more. Bedlam at the end, but all handshakes and genuine congrats after the game though, so good on them.
Once the game was over it was just us in the pub having a couple of celebratory whiskies, then another game was on the telly. Bunch of blokes turned up all at the same time to watch the next game and gave us very weird looks. Turned out they were Panathanaikos fans and the game was against PAOK, who of course were wearing stripes. Much good humour, Yamas, cheers, more whisky and all that.
Then off to the Faltering Fullback in Finsbury Park for Paddy celebrations and pints of Leffe.
    Then total oblivion.
    Fantastic!!

    And now to reality
And so came the day, the team sheet read out,
One change was made, from the Celtic rout.
In came Paul Dummett, at the expense of Carey,
And the first twenty minutes, were no less than scary.
Hearts well on top, and a goal to the good,
Missing chances, and hitting the wood.
But still we clung on, and lo and behold,
Our players stepped up, and scored their first goal.
Thompson flicked on, with Teale in full flight
He waltzed past defenders, down on the right.
A quick look around, and he sees it so plain,
And passes to Isma, to be the hero again.
With the crowd going wild, the ball’s in the net,
And the pain of the first quarter, we start to forget.
The second half starts, the whistles just gone,
Another goal for the Saints. Thompson’s on song.
2-1’s now the score, and belief is abound,
You could physically feel it, in the West of the ground.
There was better to come, as time ticked away,
Newton passed to Isma, and continued the play.
Goncalves flicked on, and in Connor stole,
“Baw’s in the pokey”, Saint Mirren’s third goal.
After Hearts got forward, and pulled one goal back,
It was our hearts not there’s that were having attacks
Lest we forget, it’s not just goals that you score,
To win a league cup, takes so much more.
Samson’'s save, and a Van Zanten block,
As we watched from the stand, the tick of the clock.
The whistle blows, it’s the end of the game,
Goodwin walks up, the trophy to claim
First Goodwin, then Samson, Thompson are there
McGinn, Van Zanten, McAusland and Mair,
Dummett, Newton, McGowan all go up
To lift that elusive, Scottish League Cup
Carey, McLean Adam, Parkin as well
All get their chance, so proud you can tell.
Then Teale and Goncalves, outstanding we say
They’ll all be remembered, for what happened that day
Last but not least, it’s the managers turn,
Danny Lennon lifts, the bright silver urn.
And as each of them lifted the cup and turned round
Tears were being shed, by all left in the ground.
So the cup comes to Paisley, the first time it’s been,
And throughout the town, were incredible scenes.
All I can say, to the staff and the players,
Is thank you for answering, all of our prayers!
Edited to correctly identify Parkin in the squad.
